Green Bean Coffee

Wasn't a fan of this place. The menu board they have is just basic coffee stuff, which might be good for most of the people I'm sure! But I had hoped for more. You basically feel like you need to ask a million questions to get a good flavored coffee. They have syrups but they are not listed on the menu/board. So you would have to investigate what flavors they had by looking over at them or asking. Asking isn't terrible but the people didn't seem very friendly. We greeted them while walking in and in return we just got eyes staring, waiting for us to hurry and order. No short conversations or friendly notions. Just ignored. The tea I ordered was SO hot. The water was practically boiling. I have gone to a lot of coffee shops and had a lot of tea, even hot tea has never burned my tongue so bad. I gave it 3 stars because it is a very cool building and an adorable little spot in town but I think it needs a lot of work on the customer service and menu options.

I grew up in Jefferson and was just recently home visiting-and when I visit I go to Greene Bean Coffee!! They have the BEST matcha green tea latte I think I’ve ever had, and I live in Portland Maine where there is a coffee shop on every corner. The inside is charming, the baristas are knowledgeable and the coffee is great! My non binary sibling is also a fan of the small flags displayed around the shop. Cheers!

I appreciate everything about this place. The coffee, the atmosphere, the service, the people. Especially appreciate the fact that you require masks. It’s important for us to support local businesses who have struggled with things over the past year. It’s also important that we show respect for each other. For those who are anti-mask, we all get it. Guess what - those of us who wear them in public are sick of them, too. But that’s not the point. The point is safety against a disease about which much is still not known. The point is protecting our loved ones and the community. Just like wearing shoes and shirts in food and beverage establishments is to avoid contagion. Please don’t trash a business and jeopardize the financial security of those supporting themselves and their families because you don’t want to wear a mask.

Had a large order and was told that they only had ice to make 2. Called and offered to buy ice so we could get all the drinks and was told no. It was like 10 in the morning and I find it hard to believe that they are out that early. So how did they serve the rest of the people until they closed at 2. Guess they didn't want my business. Very unhappy.
