Plaza Del Sol

Stopped in here for a late lunch with my teen and toddler. We were greeted on entry and quickly seated. The waitress came promptly and she was very nice. The menu is a bit extensive, one will need a few minutes to decide as they have a wide variety to choose from. The complimentary chips were fresh, the salsa I expected more. If it was prepared fresh would have been so much better. The white bean dip was just OK. The food was not hot, the portion was decent but the beans tou could count. When I see rice and beans that is exactly what I expect. The tamales were not very good at all. Probably just different from what we have previously ate at other places. I also felt there was a lack of flavor for a Mexican restaurant. Not an expensive place and we loved the decor. Would visit again, if it is even to find the best thing on the menu.

This is the best Mexican restaurant I’ve ever been in. We loved this restaurant from the moment we saw the colorful decor! The complimentary tortilla chips were served with salsa and also refried beans. I love refied beans and these were the most flavorful, and a little spicy, that I’ve ever tasted!! I’d return just for that. I had the sopes appetizer as my dinner. I’m vegan (though I’m not sure if those beans were) so I had refried beans, cabbage and guacamole on them. They are served with a delicious red sauce. I could not stop eating them because they were so flavorful! My husband had Texas Fajitas. He’s picky and often says his food needs a little something. Not tonight! They were perfect and he remarked how much meat there was as many times fajitas are mostly vegetables! We ate beyond what was comfortable but it was just that good. Our server was helpful and friendly. We spoke with the owner to compliment his wonderful restaurant. He was very friendly as well. We will definitely be back during our two-month stay in Jefferson! I don’t even want to try anywhere else! I am their biggest fan!!
