It was an honor to try the 89-year-old ice cream myself. I'm glad my son likes it more than I do. It's not often, but I really want to come back and try a different taste. Ice cream store with deep history and tradition. I hope we can continue for a long time. Thank you.

I have been trying to get here for years! Every time I would think about it they would be closed. Finally made it! Oh my goodness... the ice cream tastes just like the homemade we made in my grandmother's wood crank style icecream maker. Rhe only way I know how to describe the consistency is fluffy or crystally. The prices are really good and scoops are big. I will definitely be back so I can try all the flavors.

Reasonable prices. Cash only if your order is below $5.
Wish they had like a kids scoop option or something. I got my pups just a scoop of vanilla and split it for them.
Good selection of ice cream, I like how it wasn’t so hard you had to let it melt before eating it

Delicious, fresh ice cream. We tried the Tiger Stripe in a cup and it was very good. Very nostalgic place to visit. Cool stop in Jefferson City, MO!

What an incredible shop! Central Dairy is always super packed, but service is still super fast. The employees are kind, patient, and knowledgeable. Above all, the selection and prices. They really do have a flavor for everyone (including No Sugar Added flavors), and they offer shakes and banana splits too! Best of all, it’s super cheap! You can get a small bowl with at least four to five full scoops of ice cream for $2.50! Great quantity and quality! Great place overall!

Ice cream tasted great and was not that expensive for our group of 7. Everyone got a 2 scoop waffle cone, except for 2 small cups. My score is low because staff was not very friendly. I even asked If they liked their job because no one smiled. They acted if less pleased to be there. Staff was loud in their conversations. It was when we were leaving and they we're all in a group talking, our children said goodbye and thank you. At this point they did smile and wave. The bathroom was dirty and there is not a changing table in the bathroom. We will be taking our business elsewhere where, a place we feel welcomed from start to finish.

Although the inside tables are a bit cramped and sticky, I'm still giving this place 5 stars. The staff is too busy serving up DELICIOUS treats to a long line of happy customers that there's no time to pick the place apart. You'll be consumed with staring at either the buckets of ice cream flavors, the menu, or changing your mind over and over once you see what everyone else is ordering. As we ate what we finally selected, we continued to make mental notes of what we'll be ordering on our multiple return visits. I'm from St. Louis and found this establishment embedded in tradition, pride of ownership and staff who take time to give you a fantastic dessert that far exceeds its cost. I anticipated spending $25 but we walked out completely satisfied for under $12. I heard customers being welcomed by name. That tells me this great place will be locally supported for a long time. I'm really looking forward to going back.

Great treat in this nostalgic ice creamery. Staff were friendly and efficient! We had a hot fudge sundae and strawberry shake-both were amply sized. I was mostly impressed with how busy it was on a Thursday afternoon.
