To all my black people stop putting money in these mediocre unhealthy fast food cooperations that are killing us and go to Genesis. I literally go here every other day. They keep my abs on point. Idk who put Mac and cheese on my plate by accident but it was so good with the oxtail sauce poured on top and the plantains were cooked to perfection 😭😂. I’m not just gassing them up either. I eat at a lot of Jamaican restaurants but no one works as hard as this crew….. The line moves fast and the food is always consistently good. I’m a southern guy and normally don’t like everybody cabbage but y’all got the best steam cabbage in NY. Also everybody they accept Apple Pay. Chef Garfield inspires me to be the best chef I can be. I had the sweet and sour chicken with rice and peas and cabbage, as well as a delicious chicken rasta pasta that had a kick of spice that I loved! The food was absolutely phenomenal! The location is intimate, which means service was quick. The food was hot and fresh and I plan on returning! My total for both dishes was $26.05

OMG!!! All of them are very delicious!! I order Braised Oxtail (Meat only Medium size), Jerk chicken with rice & beans (Large size) and Southern Fried Chicken with rice & beans (Large size). (You don't see any steamed veggie or salad is because i specifically asked them not to give me) Amazed by how large portion they are and very reasonable price. 😋 Some people say about price going up but I totally understand the economic situation and base prices are going up very high. This price is NOT high at all!! I definitely recommend to all my friends and family. YOU MUST TRY HERE!!

I don’t usually write reviews, unless the experience was either down right horrible, or extraordinary. I would judge this experience on the extraordinary side. I travel a lot for business and explore a variety of different eateries from every country and city everywhere I go. I found this spot after briefly talking about food with a Jamaican Gentleman in the elevator. After our 2 minute exchange he quickly recommended this spot. I ordered the boneless jerk chicken with rice and vegetables, and a side of braised oxtail. I had it delivered to my hotel and was pleasantly surprised how generously it was portioned. The chicken was very well seasoned and had the right amount of spice. Spicy enough to where I was just about to start sweating, but not that spicy to burn my face off. The rice was soft, but not mushy like it is at some places where large portions are cooked in advance and kept on the warmer where it then cooks to mush. Although delicious, I am giving it 4 stars because the oxtail was pretty fatty. I had a lot of unpleasant fat and very little meat on it. Good spot. Will order again next time I’m in town.
