Great lunch specials and amazing sushi. Just wish they weren't out of uni, but I understand that that's probably not the biggest seller. All in all wonderful experience.
Best sushi and Japanese in Riverside. The food is fresh and made to order. The portions are enormous and prices reasonable. The three roll spicy was delicious and came with salmon, yellowtail and tuna. The tempura vegetables were light and crispy and the fried rice is perfection. The server was attentive and friendly.
Sumo Sushi has the freshest sushi around. Great lunch special $7.99 for 2 rolls + soup. The wontons were homemade. Never had a bad meal. Also have some interesting daily special rolls.

Looking at
the plating examples here, I was rather surprised when my own food came out
with rather uninspired plating in comparison. The freshness was spot on, as was the attentive service, so perhaps it was merely that someone was training in the kitchen. I expect I'll eat here again.
Good Sushi, Prompt Service. I went there on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. and wanted a bento box and was informed that it's only offered Monday - Friday during lunch, you cannot even purchase it at a different price point on the weekend which was disappointing. So, I ordered a C2 (tuna roll, salmon roll, california roll); the rolls were good and the waitress was prompt.
Best Sushi I have ever had. Got the love boat and was not disappointed.
The funky monkey roll is the best sushi roll ever... in the history of sushi! Its on the special sushi menu, try it and you won't be let down

Great Restaurant, Friendly Atmosphere. Sumo Sushi is a wonderful place to eat. I've ate there countless of times, and have never had any problem with anything that I have ordered, or with their service. Their staff is always very nice, always smiling, and always make my dining experience very enjoyable. I've read some of the other reviews for Sumo Sushi, and would have to highly disagree with the negative comments. I was actually eating there with friends the night the customer was not satisfied with the Shrimp Tempura. Sitting a table or so away, from what I could hear, the lady seemed very rude herself, and appeared to be in a bad mood the moment she walked in. It seemed that as soon as she received her food, she was trying to give it back, very loudly and hatefully saying "how nasty and greasy it was". I don't see how she could have even been able to tell how it taste, with the small nibble she must have taken (As I previously mentioned there was very little time in between receiving the food and trying to give it back. How can one give such an opinion on food with out even swallowing it yet?) I was actually able to try the shrimp tempura, as the manager did let other tables try it. In my opinion, it was not at all greasy, and was cooked very well. I had kind of then wished I had ordered the Shrimp Tempura myself. My friends also agreed there was nothing wrong with the dish. All in all, I will continue to dine at Sumo Sushi, and I highly recommended this restaurant!

We tried Sumo Sushi for the first time and it was amazing! The staff was very friendly even though it was near closing time. The food was amazing and we will definitely return in the future! It’s ran by a nice wholesome family.
Had the house Tokyo noodles. Was an awesome dish that’s brought to you at the table to finish cooking - fun and delicious. Also tried my partners shrimp tempura roll, spicy tuna, and cucumber roll. The sushi was fresh and excellent. Highly recommend.

This is my go-to place to order sushi. Way better than other local options. Great portions, always fresh, always good ingredients. I really enjoy this place and it’s been consistently good.

Nice family owned restaurant. Excellent quality. Get the Sumo Roll. Hibachi Chicken was one of the best in town.
After a tour in Japan, getting spoiled with great quality sushi,I was still very impressed with the quality and presentation of the sushi at Sumo Sushi. The prices are also quite reasonable.
Beautiful place, good food, nice and kind service. We tried hibachi chicken with shrimp and yaki noodles with meat, for desert we tried fried cheesecake and it was delicious
