I went during the Christmas time and it was Christmas themed and very cool. The themed drinks were delcious, and the atmosphere was great. They really put me in the Christmas spirit. :)
Attended the April Wine Tasting at Grape & Grain with my niece. Before I begin commenting, we both had a lovely time and met some nice people. We went thinking, because of how it was advertised, that we would gain insight on how different wines paired with different cheeses. That is not what happened. We tasted 5 different wines and during the course of the tasting heard interesting information about the different wines. Did we like all 5? No. But, it was more due to our palate than the wine. What did not happen was a cheese with each wine and why they paired well. We did get very small pieces of 3 different cheeses, a couple of crackers, and some almonds. Nothing was said about the cheeses. I asked a couple who we met there what they thought was to happen. They, too, thought it was how certain wines paired with various cheeses. Am I glad I went? Yes. It was a lovely evening, just not what I was expecting.
Grape and Grain has a very nice atmosphere to sit and talk while enjoying an adult beverage. It is a gem in the San Marco area. My rating is due to how the event was portrayed and parking. Just be aware that the parking sucks big time!
I visited the Grape and Grain Exchange for post-dinner drinks, and I must say it came highly recommended by the staff at the restaurant I previously ate dinner at, and it truly lived up to its reputation. The establishment boasts a captivating layout, with a fully stocked bar in the front adorned with an impressive display of liquors and wines along the walls, providing a unique and immersive experience for patrons. There is ample curbside seating available.
Venturing further into the establishment, a corridor leads to another room, which can be aptly described as a lounge or club. This secondary space, which was dimly lit, created an intimate ambiance. Notably, the room features a stage, serving as a platform for live performances by bands, pianists, or DJs, depending on the evening's entertainment schedule.
The overall atmosphere is undeniably cozy, offering a perfect setting to unwind and savor well-crafted beverages. The drinks themselves were expertly prepared, a testament to the establishment's commitment to quality. The lively and enjoyable vibe further adds to the overall appeal of the Grape and Grain Exchange.
Without a doubt, my visit was a delightful experience, and I am eagerly looking forward to returning on my next trip to the area.
My boyfriend and I love this place! I go every year for their Christmas pop up bar and it’s worth the wait. They have a speak easy in the back that has a New York vibe to it. Sometimes you can catch live music as well!
All great if you ask me. Had a very pleasant experience here. Will definitely return again. Service was top notch. The drink I had was great couldn't ask for anything better. So I had the boss hog when I tell you this was a very smooth drink and with every sip of some water this whiskey changes flavors.
Super great experience. Their stock of wine and spirits is truly amazing and you can sit at the bar and try any of their regular or seasonal cocktails. If you are looking for that high-end product with friendly staff, checkout Grape and Grain Exchange in San Marco.
This was the first bar I went to when I moved to Jax. I went on a Tuesday and sat in their speakeasy that’s hidden behind a shelf in the bar. The atmosphere in the speakeasy is intimate and cozy with dimmed lighting and on Wednesdays they have live music. The atmosphere in the bar itself is a little louder and brighter. Being that the bar in narrow it can get packed quickly so if you’re not a fan of crowds I would avoid coming here on the weekends. Overall the drinks are great and the bartenders are friendly and professional.
What a cool vibe! Great bartenders as well. Parking can be a little challenging during the busy times.
Enjoyed the Christmas pop up event. The drinks are good and strong. Bartenders aren't much for talkers whether they're busy or not but they make great drinks so no complaints.
I was surprised to see them so busy with just liquor sales but they offer that too
This place was packed Saturday night! The crowd was diverse and well-mannered. DJ was outstanding!! Dancing area is limited!
