This is one of my favorite restaurants in Jax! It's a perfect date for delicious sangria and amazing steak! Our favorite is the flank steak. The empanadas are delish! And the cheese filled plantains are a must try! Always a pleasure dining here!

Valeria was my waitress, and did an amazing job. She kept checking on me an making sure I didn't need anything. To start, I had the fried plantain with guava and cheese, which was amazing! Then for my entree I had the Bandeja Paisa. Everything was amazing and had a lot of flavor. I also had the sangria. Great place for authentic Colombian food! I'll definitely be coming back.

This is my second time going here. The ribeye steak is absolutely delicious, it’s basted in garlic, butter and rosemary.. It’s tender and so full of flavor. The sides are not bad but they don’t match the steak. That’s the only reason I don’t give 5 stars.

It’s our first time here the food and service is absolutely spectacular. We had Marcella for our server. She is super nice and very professional. I highly recommend dining here. The food is totally out of this world. The seasonings are delicious.

Friendly waitress, casual dining with boothes, great menu options, ok location. One less star only due to the construction in the parking lot and the busy Labor Day weekend. We did not get drink refills unless we asked and the music was a bit loud. Still, the steak was good! It was crowded but expected when food is good. Magarita was weak but the Carona was good. May return when parking construction is done.

What a pleasant surprise!! Right near my house and I didn't know. Very nice atmosphere. Clean and nicely decorated and presented. Very cool touches such as the water bottles, leather/cork menus, and other aesthetics. Server MICHELLE was simply great. Super friendly and took care of us. We got the Salento for two with steak, chicken, ribs, chorizo, and pork skin. Everything was amazing. Even the salad so so fresh with young lettuce and crisp. The house sauces with the meal were amazing. I'm glad I took some home with my takeback box. I've never been to a Colombian restaurant, but I will definitely be back and try to sample some more authentic dishes and apps. Food was simply great, and the whole meal was a treat!

Can’t wait to come back. Typical Colombian food served in a nice atmosphere. We came for lunch on a Sunday and we have a lovely waitress who was friendly and sweet. Prices are a little more expensive than the typical place but the quality is great. Would recommend.

My husband and I were recommended this place by the card shop we play and they have the best chicken salads! Other players are always complimenting the smells and looks. Definitely glad we were recommended this place!

This place has such good food, we've been here several times now and it never disappoints! They are definitely serving top quality cuts of meet, we just can't get enough of this place! They also have some very traditional Colombian dishes and I would know I own a restaurant in Medellín!

Loved loved loved this place! The only reason for a 4 star instead of 5 was because we waited for over an hour to get seated and the young man that was the seating host was less than enthusiastic about helping us or giving us updates on our seating turn.
We ended up sitting at the bar and the staff there was definitely more approachable and accommodating. We ordered our food at the bar but a gentleman… I believe he was one of the Managers, came up right before we got our food and asked us if we preferred a table and immediately sat us at one. He made sure that whatever we needed we got. Loved it!
The food… my goodness! A Colombian dream feast! We shared a platter that was everything it promised and more! The drinks were amazing and the ambiance felt like a comfy visit home.
The servings were more than enough and then some and worth re-experiencing the next day.
This will definitely make my list of places to revisit the next time I’m in town.

I have been here a handful of times and the food is absolutely delicious and consistent. Coming from Miami where Colombian food is plentiful, I can say this place is as good as it is at home. Being half Cuban and Colombian, Salento is like home for me. The atmosphere, music, and entire dining experience is fantastic. Come by try it for yourself!

I can't believe we have been missing out on this gem of a restaurant! We visited for the first time tonight (01/21/22) and are so mad at ourselves for not visiting sooner.
The service was nothing short of amazing, food was perfectly grilled, prices are good and atmosphere pleasant.
We had empanadas as an appetizer, beer, two steak and onion dinners, a dessert and with a generous tip still only spent $70.
This is definitely going to be our newest favorite restaurant to visit in Mandarin!

Ok this place is not an everyday place for this girl but my goodness when I go I am so very happy! Not even sure where to begin.. sat down to mint infused water.. ordered the wine based pina colada and it was so satisfying. Went with a larger group and everyone ordered different things. Not a disappointment on the food at all! I decided on the Salento Combination and every bite was just wonderful. Service was spot on.. they make you feel like family and the atmosphere is so warm and inviting. Would never know it was in an older strip mall on Old St. Augustine Road!
Meat sweats were had by all in the end!

We stumbled upon this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try for our Much needed date night. They were quick to seat us, gave us mint infused water when we sat down, had a nice selection of wine and beer and very friendly staff. We had the empenadas, cheese plantains, arepas (my favorite food, which is not easy to find in Jacksonville) and the New York strip. Everything was cooked to perfection and the seasoning was delicious! We finished our meal with the Tres Leches and espresso, which was to die for! This is seriously our new favorite restaurant and I plan on eating here often! There were tons of regulars in there, but they treated everyone like family! Highly recommend you try this hidden gem

Found this place searching Latin restaurants and so glad I did. This little gem is tucked away in strip mall right in my back yard. I'm pleased to say this was some of the finest Latin food we have eaten, service was awesome, food outstanding and cooked to perfection. Empanadas were the perfect appetizer. We will be going back soon to try other menu items, can't wait!!

Great overall. Only takeaway is maybe investing in beer and soda taps and making sauces available in the tables. With a small place and limited staff it's a hassle to have to always ask for sauce

This place is awesome, we're from Orlando and were in Jacksonville visiting a friend for a tattoo. While looking for a nice place to eat we stumbled across Salento. 10/10 service and most importantly the food was great. Best Colombian restraunt we've visited and we've been to a lot. Will definitely be back when in Jacksonville.

The sweet plaintains were very tasty. Got their Salento House and I couldn't believe all the meat that was served for that price. Red beans and rice were on point. They need to invest in a soda fountain. They only serve can sodas and charge $1.50 no free refills.

This was our first time here. I was very impressed from the minute we walked in the door to when we left. The staff was very attentive but not overbrearing. We ordered the platter for 2. We took more meat home than what we ate there. We will absolutely be back.

Wife and I went there for dinner and it was delicious! Beef empanadas and fried plantains appetizers. Flat steak with yucca fries, beans and rice for me. Lamb chops with yucca fries, plantain fritas and grilled veggie kabab for her. Malbecs and Modelos all around, with flan and mango mousse to finish it out. Service was prompt and courteous. Beer and wine selection good. Heartily recommended.
