Review River City Brewing Company - Jacksonville

The views, the food, i thought I heard this place had closed so when a friend invited me i was so confused... BUT ITS OPEN we couldn't quite stay long enough for sunset but it was still B E A U T I F U L !! The food was good. I didn't realize the lack of variety until i brought a shellfish allergy with me... Oops. She just had a burger though and said it was amazing! Phew! Highly recommend the catch of the day no matter what it is, it will be amazing

Went on a Sunday and it was very relaxing! They have a brunch menu but I waited for calamari and a half house salad. The calamari had a unique and tasty seasoning compared to others I've tried, very delicious. Half house salad was big, filling, and flavorful. Also tried a couple beers, the Laughing Lizard Lager and the Mad Mango Monkey Wheat. Both were great, but ended up liking the Mad Mango a little more -- unique flavor and a punch that gave me a nice buzz in the warm weather. Was able to sit outside and look out over the river that had a nice cooling breeze. First time in Jacksonville and had a nice lunch!

Tastebuds jubilant. This is by far the best seafood I've had that I've had in the United states. Per my request, my flounder was cooked and spiced to perfection and I had no need to use "hot sauce." We both enjoyed our meals, my wife and I, making it a most perfect anniversary meal. Don't get me started about the view, and the Bourbon infused beer (so good we took home two growlers). This place is a must visit for perfectly paired entrees and well prepared meals. Every tastebud in my mouth danced with every single bite. I live 90 miles away, and I will definitely return. Thank you Amber and the entire welcoming and pleasant River City Brewing Company staff. Well done.

Lunchtime on a Tuesday in Jacksonville. We wanted to explore the Southbank Riverwalk, so we decided to try out River City Brewing Company, which is on the West end. It's a big place in a beautiful setting, right on the riverfront, with views of the John T. Alsop Jr. Bridge and a boat dock. The place was pretty empty at 1PM and we got a good table on the patio. The service was a bit slow, which was surprising since they had so few customers, but they may have been short on wait staff at that time of day. Their beer was good and refreshing, and it was a beautiful day, so we didn't really mind taking our time. I had the RCBC Burger and my wife had Fish & Chips. The food was fresh, properly prepared and delicious. It's hard to beat a great meal on a great day in a beautiful place. I would have given them 5 stars if the service was a bit better, so I definitely would recommend giving them a try.

This restaurant is right next to the Museum of Science and History. It is located right on the St. Johns River. The view from the dining room is beautiful. Food was very good and our server, Rick was very friendly. Good food, great service and a beautiful view in the dining room all add up to a 5 star experience. We certainly would come back when visiting Jacksonville next time.

Very nice, it's a formal and casual side. Just know that it's different menus if you want steak or lobster, you need to go to the formal side, we were able to go to the casual side and get a formal menu, because it was during the day, and it wasn't many people there, the formal side is very formal, very nice, has a great view, the casual side, his very casual, the food is delicious nicely seasoned, great presentation overall, I would definitely recommend this place, you could also reserve tables here.

Place is nice, you can take advantage of the happy hours from 5pm till 7pm which is good. You can have a walk in the riverside walk which is near by. And you can see the friendship fountain which is just outdoor. I like the place and I might come back again. There are free parking lots available too.

Had the pleasure of working with River City Brewing Company while djaying a magical wedding and it was truly an excellent time ! The event staff were VERY professional and courteous. Bar staff and caterer were incredibly helpful and was impressive to everyone there. The food was OUTSTANDING as they catered the event with in-house food such as carving station roast beef, fresh salad, hot and delicious sides, and my personal favorite fresh salmon with garlic butter dressing. Highly recommend for both catered events and for a really good dinner with Jacksonville ‘s beautiful skyline as backdrop. Great time !

RCBC has been a favorite for many years. Starting with ample, free parking (unlike The Landing) a nice setting and a beautiful view of part of downtown, it culminates with tasteful and varied fare. I've visited the restaurant part, the bar part and the deck part through the years and have enjoyed all. Service has been very good and was no exception recently. Finally, the food is well conceived, prepared and presented with quality ingredients, in my experience.

I like this place mainly because when I go here it's for a cool event. Today we did a cornhole tournament and we had a lot of fun. I do think this place needs a lot of love. The service was good but the place looks worn down and could use a huge facelift. I still generously gave it 4 stars but am keeping my eyes out on this spot and will update.

Sunday Brunch and bottomless bloody Mary. The food was tasty, and a great variety at the brunch. Breakfast items, top round, smoked salmon, omelette station, waffles, soup, cheesecake, salad, fruit, um... Cookies, Rosemary potatoes, cod, and bottomless bloody Mary. Did I mention that? Lol. I ate a lot, drank a lot, laughed a lot, all with a beautiful view of the River and the Riverwalk right after. I'm new to JAX, but I'll come back here for sure. Need to try their beers!

Beautiful space, very reminiscent of Bayside Miami. Happy hour Mon-Fri 4-7pm(liquid Mary J).The drinks are inexpensive,strong and tasty. The crab cakes and crab fondue spectacular. Ceri our waitress was very attentive, patient and a great listener.

We loved staying at this marina! Lee is one of the friendliest dock masters we've ever met. The docks are a bit disheveled but his guidance provided us a decent arrival. The restaurant/brewery has great food, delicious beer, and a great atmosphere for entertaining or watching sports. Friendly staff too!

Great view at night and sunset, between Main Street Bridge and Acosta Bridge. The happy hour is great. We went on Tuesday for that. The bar was full. I'm not much of a craft beer drinker, but there are plenty of other options as well as food. The chicken sliders looked really good and the fries are homemade and different. Brian is a top notch bartender. Stopped by on Sunday as well and it appears they have a great brunch. It was packed with a few parties outside. The dining area inside looked pretty elegant.

Continues to be a great place to eat. Our appetizer was a little over done, but great just the same. I would recommend coming at night and trying their craft beers.

The Grilled Salmon was a delight. The meal came with jasmine rice which in my opinion was not cooked all the way(hard and crunchy)? Atmosphere was inviting and intimate. While this dish was ok in the future I will select another.

There is no way possible that people with a single taste bud thinks the food is awful..no way! I live outside of New Orleans and I know what Southern/seafood is suppose to taste like and this is THE place! I will tell anyone that is planning to open a resteraunt to come here to see what good food taste like! This is an amazing place with a stellar out door dining experience. Our server Guy M. was fun, hospitable, attentive and wonderful! We will return and highly recommend the best place on the river.

Mother's day buffet off the chain ... Unlimited crab legs, macaroons, and carving station !! Amazing view at a decent price. The line was insane but it's mothers day! #jaxlocalvibes #googlemaps

I NEVER write negative reviews but I went for lunch on the patio yesterday with my 2 kids. We sat ourselves after touching base with 2 associates on our way to the patio area... and then we waited quite a while before I eventually had to go and grab my own menus (meanwhile, 4 staff stood around chatting -and what appeared to be a manager actually had to stand up so I can grab a menu because he was sitting on them). Then, I had to leave the table again about 15 min later to ask if someone could take our order!? We ordered 2 cheeseburger kids meals and one adult burger entree. The food came out and I immediately noticed that my burger looked exactly like the kids meal burgers (none of the special toppings described on the menu); additionally, the bottom bun was so soggy I couldn’t pick up the burger without it falling apart. One of my kids finished their burger and the other was half done when the server brought out some of the toppings that went with my meal. No pickles and the onions were pink and soaked in something gross (the server said she thought they were pickled onions). I let her know I was expecting plain onions and pickles based on the menu detail. She then told me they were out of pickles. Next, it was a challenge to put the bacon jam on my burger because we never received utensils... thankfully, I was able to grab napkins on my 3rd trip inside to “help myself”, but didn’t see utensils. Icing on the cake: our fries were half burnt and cold. Finally, the bill came and I was charged for a drink (I got water and the kids drinks were included with their meal). The server explained that the charge was because one of my kids got a refill. What!? A $9 kids meal, no indication from the server OR on the menu that refills are additional and you really charge for more tea? The server never intended to bring the kids their ice cream.. good thing my 7 yr old remembered to ask. I never complain at restaurants and consider myself pretty low-maintenance and understanding, but this was a pretty bad experience overall so I thought it was important to share our concerns.

The setting on the water and the waiter were wonderful and worthy of the stars given. However, the food was very disappointing. The calamari was greasy and they have alleviated the once delicious sauce they used to toss in it. Green fried tomatoes were not green and greasy as well, the Caesar salad had only a trace of dressing; very dry! THe entrees of meat chicken and fish were acceptable but not noteworthy. A new chef perhaps? A degraded quality standard, Cutting costs ? A very special evening despite the negative gastro experience thanks to friends and the beautiful view. ,

Always love to go to River City Brewery! Had lunch there yesterday and it was beautifully decorated for the holidays. Our waiter was very attentive and very funny to boot. We had the lobster fondue and with the home made chips it was delicious. I had the fish tacos, they were perfect along with the black bean mango side that came with it. Yummy dessert followed. Our dining experience was so much fun. We took our time and our wonderful waiter never hurried us. River City is one of my favorite restaraunts, lovely view, wonderful service and great food. Can't wait to go back!

Nice view...Nice staff...food was pretty good....for what we had in mind for Saturday afternoon...it was better than the crowd from the festival next door

Beautiful view...staff pleasant...but the fish tacos had only tiny, baby finger size pieces of fish...not enough to even taste like fish!! Extremely disappointed in the tacos. The black bean mango salad was great! If asked to dine there again I’d really have to debate my decision! (Friday 3/30/18...party of 17)

My son's rehearsal wedding dinner was held at River City Brewing. I can not express how wonderful the whole evening was..the Bridge Room was perfect..view of the St. Johns, space and tables were perfect and the food for everyone was exceptional. Krysta helped me with every detail, so professional and knowledgeable about every detail that as the hostess for the rehearsal dinner I just didn't think about! If you are thinking of a venue for your wedding or rehearsal dinner please choose River City Brewing Company.

Facebook words will never be able to express the wedding that RCBC put on for us. Everything was perfect. Rehearsal dinner. The view. The weather. The staff. The DJ & most off all the GM Kristine & the catering manager Krysta went so far above & beyond for my new wife & I. It was an experience we will cherish for the rest of our lives. Had a most excellent experience from start to finish! Dined on a gorgeous Monday evening for my friends daughter's 17th Birthday. Everything went off fantastic, without a hitch or problem! Hats off to the wait staff, immaculate service! I personally would like to give props to the chef. I was very pleased with The Special of the evening (Seared Red Snapper). He even administered the couple modifications I asked for, no problem (substituted my side items)! All in all, I highly recommend RCBC. Thank You!!

We arrived at 7, seated at 7:30, ordered at our meals at 8:15 and was served cold food a little after 9. I ordered the jambalaya and it was not good at all. It taste like someone poured a can of tomato sauce over some cold rice, chicken, shrimp and sausage mixed it up then threw it in the microwave for a few seconds. Our waitress was very apologetic due to short staff.

Food quality gone down ; servers were good !! I had the calamari -not again , salmon was 5/10; most of use weren't happy with food

Love this place and the food is always delicious. We always bring our out of town guests to dine here and they always say the same thing when they come back to visit us... “Let’s go to River City... again!”

Good beer and great food. Friendly staff. They missed on some small details with the order. (No ranch or utencils provided) But I suggest the water taxi ride to get over and try it.

The food and service were top notch! Sitting right by the water was beautiful. I had a 3 course meal and it was great!!

I had been going to Rivercity Brewing co. For the past 3 yrs for Thanksgiving and its been good! But this yr. It was just ok! My Reservation was for 2:00! There was 6 people in my party! And we would go thru the buffet line and we would open the pan lid and it would be empty! They kept running out of things! And couldn't keep it filled up! It was not as good as usual for the price! Cause it's not cheap!!

Great atmosphere and very tasty craft beers. Some of the best bands in the area on Fridays and Sundays!
