The food was excellent!! The service was above and beyond ❤️ "Grandma" actually comes out from the kitchen and greets her guests!! The sweetest personality.. such a joy to meet her 🌸🌿 So much personality to the place, lots of beautiful sayings framed on the wall, little knick knacks. What a great memory, I wish I lived closer!! If you're in the area I highly recommend it!! 😊👍🏻🌈🌞🌺🌿

Randomly found this place to have lunch because good reviews on Google. It was surprisingly good! We ordered Chicken Katsu and Hamburger Steak, both tasted very delicious. Food serving was a little bit slow, not sure if because there was a big group in front of us. Overall, it is a great restaurant, worth a try if you are in town.

The customer service is top notch at Gramma's, we actually met Gramma! Scratch made comfort food and wonderful service made this one of our favorite places to eat in the Hawaii Island! ( Out of at least 10 Mac salads we tried my Mom says this one is the best!)

Charming place for a bite to eat before/after checking out all the nearby shops along the street. Service and food were good, good selection of breakfast and lunch options. Good selections for the kids, they really liked the pancakes! Tried my first loco and really enjoyed it too. Only downside was the coffee, ugh 😑There’s a great shop next door though.

Gramma's Kitchen is a hidden gem of a restaurant located in Historic Honoka'a Town, far north of Kailua-Kona, beyond the town of Waimea. This cozy little restaurant sits on the corner as you enter town, offering delicious homestyle cooking. Grandma herself even makes appearances to say hello once in a while. Finding parking can be a bit tricky, as it usually involves street parking or going further down the main strip and parking on the side of the road. As you walk past the charming local shops, you'll be enticed by the aroma of their mouthwatering dishes. On my last visit, I had the pleasure of trying their special, the shepherd's pie, and it was absolutely phenomenal. The dish was incredibly satisfying, bursting with flavors and made with top-quality ingredients. This was a real Gem of a place in little ol' Honoka'a. This Portuguese (maybe from Brazil) restaurant serves food portions that were just so much. We ordered some kind of rice with chicken and fried eggs on top of it, but we had no idea how it would come out looking like it did in the picture. Very cool, very delicious. The pancakes were enormous, and no shortage on maple syrup. The hashbrowns were very delicious too and crispy. Overall, these three items filled two adults up quite well and the ticket wasn't painful in the pocket either. The only warning to give is that this place is SUPER cozy...as in, it probably can't seat more than 20 people at a time. So, be aware of that. Service and servers were nice and friendly and I appreciated that.

Very cozy place! Their sweet bread and strawberry jam(? not sure) was super good. I got the Vinha D`alhos Loco Bowl, it was very yummy. Kinda reminded me of a pork adobo taste. There was no wait to sit down (Saturday 11am) and food came out pretty fast. There is a bug zapper so don't get scared if you hear a loud zap sound.

Make sure you visit Grammas! We had the pleasure of meeting her and she checked on the tables and treated us warmly. Asking where we were from and if we or the food needed anything. This restaurant really will treat you same as the locals Mahalo Grammas for the tasty memories and the wonderful company!

The loco moco is to die for, full of flavor and the rice is done really well too! Fried chicken is also good, crunchy and flavorful. Proud to represent my hometown Jinan on the world map!

Definitely the best meal I had on big island. Nice staff great food. I ordered the Portuguese plate twice , I prefer vinegar on the side. The pork is very juicy

Amazing breakfast! We love the Corned Beef Hash and also the Country Fried Steak and Eggs.! Lunch and dinner is wonderful too! Burgers are great, BLT is yummy, and Cheesy Garlic Fries are to die for! Best of all is the staff- everyone is friendly, helpful, and you really do feel like you are eating IN Gramma's Kitchen! Perfect for everyone. If Larry Ignacio is there you may even get a history lesson!

Outstanding place to be and eat with remarkable friendly people! Don't miss the bigbigbig breakfasts! It's a long way from germany to Gramma's Kitchen. But it's worth it!

Wonderful owners, great food, and love the ambiance! Definitely one of my favorite places to enjoy a meal!

Excellent staff, cozy surroundings but the eggs benny was not good. My friends veggie omelet was great.

Usually we LOVE Gramma's kitchen... Today we stopped by from Waimea with a party of 10. The restaurant wasn't as busy as usual so figured we could get in. The waitress there... With the socks was super rude. She told us that she would take hours to get us all in. I could see that there were 3 tables getting ready to leave and 2 tables already finishing up. She told us we should eat at Tex instead!! I told her we are servers and willing to wait for her to be ready for us. She said it takes work for her to seat us. That making water and coffee takes time. We said we were willing to wait and that we drove out just to eat there! We went outside to wait and a guest came out. She told us that there was now 8 seats open for us. But that the waitress is rude and obviously doesn't really want tables! We went in and asked if we could sit and wait til she was ready to serve us. She said no. She can only seat half of us until 15 minutes because the kitchen can't handle all of us ordering! Mind you, we had 2 babies with us. So 8 of us sat while the other 2 adults waited outside. She dropped us water and proceeded to ignore us for another 10 minutes. We are totally baffled at the way she treated us. We do eat there at least once a months and always leave very generous tips. We wound up packing and eating at Tex!
