Surprisingly nice place for upper Keys! Good food, good, friendly service. The place is casual, but new and clean.
And yes, you really park in between boat things, don't let it confuse you.
We visited twice, trying both steaks (ribeye, filet), some Caesar salad with grilled chicken, and one of the appetizers - Chicken Wing Lollipops. We were happy with everything, least with the starter, but it was still good. Most of our dishes can be highly adjustable - any salad can come with chicken, shrimp, fresh fish, tuna, or scallops. We also played with addition to steak a bit.
Gluten free options are marked in the menu - but remember to tell your server to prepare them in a gluten free versions. It's a decent number of options, a few of the appetizers, steak, salads, and some fish options. They even have gf cookies, but I didn't try them.

Excellent lunch by the water today! Sharon was our waitress, and she was very quick about getting our order in and stopped by during our meal to see if we needed anything else.
The grouper was very flakey and was such a treat as we don't have it where we live. I also loved the thin fries that came with my lunch and there were more than I could finish.
I can only imagine how cool it would be there to eat at night with the beautiful lighting on the deck. Will definitely be back on my next vacation.

This has to be hands-down my favorite restaurant in the Keys (and might be ever)! The food is always delicious and the vibes are great! I love making it upstairs for a drink and app before dinner at their Sunset Lounge!

We stopped here for dinner and drinks to celebrate my fiancé’s birthday last Saturday. They have indoor and outdoor seating available. However, there was a 30-45 minute wait for a table so we opted to sit at the bar. Michael was our bartender, he was very friendly, polite, and downright a personable person. He was very thorough and knowledgeable about the various dishes and how they were prepared. My fiancé ordered the Pan Sautéed Shrimp Rice Bowl and I ordered the Seared Sea Scallops. I have eaten scallops at various restaurants and these scallops were fresh, tender, moist, succulent, and deeee-licious!!! 😋 For dessert we shared a Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie. Michael’s suggestions were great and much appreciated, and drinks were on point!
Overall amazing food, drinks and ambience! The food is pricey but food quality is top notch! Kudos to the Chef! 🙏
We had the best food by far at Square Grouper during our weekend trip hands down! 😍 We will definitely come back in the near future. Highly recommend!! 😃

Lynn has clearly outdone herself for the second location of Square Grouper Islamorada.
Her food, along w her executive chef, Is stellar and wine pairings are excellent.
We've visited her Kudjoe Key local for years. This time, having stayed in the northern Keys, saw us at the Islamorada location and it did not disappoint: scenery, food, vacation, vibe, and setup was a great addition to this area.
You will not be disappointed!!!
And yes, we will be back.

If you are ever driving down Highway 1 on your way to Key West stop into the Square Grouper in Islamorada FL you will not regret it. We started off with Lavender lemonade and Sweet Thai Chilli Chicken Lollipops that were fantastic. I had the Blackened Yellow Fin Snapper sandwich with lime tarter sauce, sweet potato fries and cole slaw. It was all delicious. April had the house cheeseburger which came with a bacon jam that was awesome! Service was great. Kitchen was speedy even with a full restaurant. Bathroom had cool octopus sinks and were clean.

We stopped here for my birthday and i was not disappointed, the bartender was extremely friendly and helpful with any questions we had about the menu.
We just had drinks and appetizers.
Everything was delicious 😋
Definitely be back next time we come back to Islamorada!

It's my favorite restaurant to visit in the Florida Keys. We found this treasure while on our honeymoon last year and we were so excited to go back for our anniversary! The absolute best fresh seafood and superb customer service! Everything we've tried here is delicious!

We love this place! It's pricy being in Islamorada proper, but we'll worth it. Fresh oysters are my fav, and they have 5 selections from all over. Happy hour upstairs is great too. You have to go early if you want a seat at the bar.

Very nice restaurant and the upstairs lounge is even better. The drinks were great. The Candied Bacon Manhattan was excellent, as was the Key Lime Martini made from the restaurants key lime pie with a graham cracker rim. Definitely dessert in a glass.
Food was great and we were lucky enough to have a visitor stop by and lounge around for a while.
The locals said it was the best on the key and I believe them. Cheers!

Very good and fresh food . We enjoyed the share plate on the 3rd floor ( lounge ) . The cocktails were amazing ( Pineapple Express ) . The key lime pie is delicious as well . Long wait to have a table but worth the wait . Then the service is very fast . Don’t miss it if you are around

Great dinner from start to finish. They don't take reservations and it was about a 45-60 minute wait when we got there at 545 so plan accordingly. I had the ahi tuna and my wife got a pasta bowl with shrimp. The ahi portion was really nice. We had tuna avocado egg rolls for an appetizer and they were good but not a generous portion of that (2 cut in half). Pro tip, ask for the egg roll dipping sauce if you are getting the ahi. It was great. I had chocolate peanut butter cake which was good and we also had a slice of key lime pie which was fine (not bad but not great either).

Love it here! We had a mix of starters and main dishes and each one was on point. Little pricey but I’m cheap 😉
Calamari was the best I’ve had in a long time if not the best. Cooked perfectly. Coconut shrimp was also very good. Filet sliders with good pieces of meat. My wife had the yellowtail special and it was cooked nicely. I had some octopus which was great as well.

Great attention despite we had to wait for an hr and 45 mins.
Had a couple of drinks. Grouper is a must order. Super fresh and flaky. They have good sides too. The lobster Mac n cheese is good. Hubby ordered the scallops which he didn't like as they were too salty.

At first, it felt like we were at the wrong place when we turned in since it felt like we were going into a boat yard, but the building is back off the road. We went upstairs to the top floor first for a few drinks and appetizers. The drinks are on point and the stone crab claws are great. Bartenders are attentive and friendly.
Went downstairs for dinner. Excellent service and great food. This was a great place to hang out for a little while and enjoy dinner. Highly recommend this place if you're in the area.

Sunset lounge is amazing! We bring our friends and go upstairs when they open so that we can have the best seats in the house. Order a bit of everything on the menu and just have some fun! We love this place so much! Great views, great food, great drinks…. You cannot go wrong!! The servers are knowledgeable and some of the best in the industry. Make sure to make a trip upstairs while you are in town. Downstairs is awesome as well with a more dinner atmosphere!

Excellent food. Wish we would have known about this place earlier in our vacation. Pricing was decent and the restaurant itself was very nice inside and out. We sat outside and overlooked the marina. If you're looking for a nice place to go out and maybe dress a little nicer (not a suit or anything crazy, but maybe something out of your flip-flops), then this is the place. Service was excellent. All around a great place and somewhere we will visit during our next time in the area.

Really one of the best restaurants in The Keys! The 3rd floor bar is sexy. A great place for appetizers (yes, order the stone crab claws & oyster sampler platter). The main floor restaurant is a great spot for excellent dining.
