The only thing that pisses me off is having too many choices and you can decide which one to pick because they're all great. Hamburger the grill been can't beat it there bacon and eggs can't beat it hot beef sandwich can beat it every other sandwich just great. Sticks always been great just can't afford it but it's great, it's not that it's a bad price there's only one place in town that even compete with that price. If services ever bad will then you hit the lottery because I can't remember the last time I had bad service, for one thing three quarters of the waitresses are lifers it all starts with a great family for about a hundred years!!

We took a large group of people (32) in and the Server was great handled all our orders gracefully, accurately, with a great attitude. Food was very tastey, and arrived at our tables very rapid for the amount of food with no one waitting. so special gratitude to Crouse Cafe for helping make our visit pleasurable and memorable....

Best homemade apple pie. The crust was amazing! Also best Bacon pepperjack Burger I've had. It was cooked the way I like it. It has been hard to find the best cheeseburger here in town since I moved here and I found it. :-)

Found this spot on Google and it did not disappoint! The place was packed. Sunday around 12:30. Service was a little slow but our server was super nice and super attentive. We had omelets, French toast, biscuits and gravy and a ham and egg and cheese sandwich! With 2 drinks and the total was around $32!! We will definitely be back!!!

I love finding good mom and pop diners and I hit the jackpot with this one! I had the blueberry pancake and bacon, my husband had the open face hot roast beef sandwich. Both were huge and fantastic! Great service, inexpensive and GREAT! Saw the homemade milkshakes and pies being delivered to other tables. I live 37 miles away and look forward to driving there sometime just for pie and milkshakes! My new favorite family diner!!!

Homemade food in an old diner feel. Crouse hasn't changed much because they don't need to, they make great food with good people. I highly recommend the breakfast buffet on Sundays. It's top notch.

This restaurant has been around before I was even born. All the meals and pies are made that day from scratch! I've had breakfast, lunch and dinner. Not all in one day! Famous for their Hot Beef Sandwiches!

Delicious...home cooking done right. This place has fresh food cooked just like your grandma did it back in the day. The waitress we had knew her stuff and was very helpful. She made sure we were taken care of and had our food out to us in short order. Everything we ordered were hot and fresh and tasted so good. This place is worth the drive and everyone should give it a try. We are going back on the weekend when they have their buffett. We definitely will be back!

A wonderful nostalgic restaurant in our town of Indianola, Iowa. Family owned since it opened. Always steadily busy. Great home cooked style food. The staff is absolutely wonderful. If your in the area it is a must try.

Exceeds expectations! I was expecting this to be a good small town cafe but this was even better. The hot roast beef sandwich was a level above what you usually find. These guys have figured out the magic of perfect gravy and real roast beef. It was amazing. Then the dessert. I forget that Iowa is the pie capital and Crouse did not disappoint. Two full meals and pie and the bill? $23. If you go here leave a huge tip.

Crouse Cafe in Indianola. This place was VERY clean. They recently had an employee test positive for Covid, so they had to close down. Today is the first day they have been open since. We watched them thoroughly clean each table before they sat people down. They’re very nice and energetic. Mom got the Turkey club with a side of onion rings. The onion rings were thin and crispy. And moms turkey club was very filling. I think she ate half and was full. The Hot Beef was GOOD. Real mashed potatoes. Homemade gravy not from a packet. 😋 AND it was only $16 total! I would definitely return here!!
