I love The Legend! The food is outstanding every time from Winter Root Vegetable soup, Beef Medallions cooked to perfection and gorgeous cobbler for dessert! The wine selection is thoughtful and local beer from craft brewers is always available. The staff is wonderful and always lovely! It is my favorite restaurant in Indianapolis. It is an asset to our beautiful neighborhood and city.
We had brunch. The food was served quickly and correctly, and professionally. Delicious as always, each dish maintaining the consistency we have come to know. Good job John and the staff of the Legend!
I had a splendid time there. Went there for the first time and noticed they had paper sheet for table covers which they change after each sitting and I appreciated that so much. They have plexiglass in spaces to separate parties. The food was delicious my favorite was the Caesar salad and I had the Reisling.

Irvington is the best, please visit if you haven’t yet. Today my boss took me out to lunch and we ended up here, which I was happy about because I’ve wanted to visit for some time.
Located on what I consider the main drag you will find the legend classic, the inside is very charming lots of dark wood with tables and booths to choose from.
The staff is polite and attentive without being over bearing.
The menu is small but offers a decent amount of options. Sandwich, soups; wraps, salads and burgers seem to be the main choices.
I ended up getting the 3 cheese grilled cheese sandwich and tomato basil soup.. both things were very tasty. A cheese combo is something you can never go wrong with and the tomato basil soup was light, but had just the right amount of flavor. Great place I would go to again
We went to The Legend for dinner with a friend who recommended it to us and we were not disappointed! Very friendly and attentive staff and outstanding food! We tried the Zucchini Cakes and enjoyed every single bite. The meals are all fresh, tasty and definitely worth more than just one visit. Great food, comfortable atmosphere, reasonable prices and a good choice of vegan/vegetarian meals as well as domestic and foreign wines!

I got their tomato soup and salad with lemon vinaigrette. They have lots of Vegan options. It was fresh and tastey. Chris was our server and he was so polite and helpful. Best tomato soup I ever had.
I have now been to The Legend Cafe twice, and on both occasions I was more than impressed. The atmosphere makes for either a dress-up dinner or a relaxing meal with friends. The choices in food are varied and always delicious. And for the amount of food and the price, it is a great value. Highly recommend this restaurant.
We chose this restaurant based on the reviews during a quick trip to Indy. The food is great, the ambiance is quaint, and the prices are very reasonable. We tried several menu items, including the tomato soup (yum), the kale & spinach salad (tender), the meat loaf (as good as mom's), Dad's chicken (delicious), plus desserts & appetizers. If I lived in the area I'd eat here twice a week. Seriously good food and a great value.

I had an exquisite experience eating lunch at The Legend today in Historic Irvington! The food was superb, the constant service fantastic by the servers and the owners are such an amazingly approachable couple! My booth was comfortable and far from the gloomy, foggy day outside! The food has always been flavorful and cooked to one's taste...I can't say enough about
Yummy grilled cheese and pesto sandwich with lentil curry soup and a nice beer. My little buddy Dale liked it a lot, too.
So we went here on 12/29/20, met an amazing team of people. Our waitress was Erin, so sweet and informative. The food was so delicious!!! That Mom’s Meatloaf was so so good! My husband had Hummus Burger, he loved it. We took some soups to eat later, both we so delicious as well. So happy we moved into the neighborhood and to have this wonderful restaurant only a few feet from my house!!!
Always fresh, nutritious and delicious! A favorite. We rode our bikes and dined outdoors on the patio.
