Jazz - A Louisiana Kitchen

Amazing service! Friendly people too! We got the stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer and they were bigger than we expected. Very good flavor to them. Alligator bites were good and weren't rubbery like some places, gumbo had great flavor and wasn't skimpy on the seafood in it. Blackened catfish was very good and came with dirty rice and a vegetable medley that was tender without being overcooked. The seafood fettuccine my daughter got was good, and again not skimpy on the seafood in it. Fed three adults for $80 which was pretty reasonable considering the quality of food and service and the size of the portions.

Honestly I never write reviews and I hate putting down servers because I have been in the industry but man, we had really terrible service. I ordered 2 to go meals when we were about halfway done eating so it'd be ready by the time we were done. We got done, waited about 30 more minutes for the to go orders we thought and she finally comes to check on us to see if we needed boxes which we had already asked for and double checked that we needed the 2 orders to go. Was slightly irritated at this point because I thought that was what we were waiting for. Another 10 or so minutes and she brings the check with only our dinner on it, the 2 to go orders were not on it. Livid at that point we paid and before we could leave. I had to run to the bathroom. I can say I will not be back and I hope that this restaurant can do better in the future.

This is my favorite restaurant but tonight the service was lacking. The wait was terrible. Over an hour to get seated. I finished my etouffee before my wife even got her meal. She ordered chicken strips. Many of our glasses were left empty. We also ordered oysters on the half shell. They were very small. On the positive note the voodoo chicken was very good. Gumbo was on point and etouffee was delicious. We didn't even complain and they discounted our bill.
