Review La Casita Restaurant - Idyllwild

Great little place in a very beautiful location. The service was wonderful and all the staff was super nice. The food came out quick but wasn’t anything to write home about. It seemed very basic and not authentic tasting Mexican food like some other reviews suggest. I had a chicken taco salad and the chicken was super wet and overly salted at the bottom of the bowl which made the bowl it was in soggy (like a tostada bowl). It was filling in the end which was good cause I was really hungry.

Great food!! Very busy place. We ordered take out. Very little parking available. Patio dining is available and dogs are welcome there. We will definitely be back when in area

La casita is so delicious 😋. Me and my dad drive an hour from Palm Springs to enjoy the wonderful food and the beautiful scenery. We’ve been coming here for last 4 years and always great service. Food portions are pretty big and price is great.

Found great vegetarian options on the Hill. The veggie blend can be ordered in a smothered big burrito, tacos, tostada etc. Listed as vegetarian, their classic refried beans didn’t have lard (always hard to be sure) and the flaky fluffy Mexican rice wasn’t made with animal broth. It was really nice to enjoy these flavors with confidence. And the staff had no trouble omitting cheese and sour cream. And being gluten-free, I can attest the corn tortillas and chips and the ranchero sauce are indeed GF.

This is my new favorite spot in Idyllwild! The food is great and they have the best salsa! The people their are very friendly and helpful! Sitting on the outside deck is very relaxing and pleasant! Go there, you won’t regret it!

Great employees, great food! We went last night on a Thursday $2 crispy tacos from 5pm to 7pm. I got 2 chicken and 2 shredded beef tacos. We try to go every time we come to Idyllwild.

La Casita was one of the few restaurants open past 2pm on a Friday and I say Lucky us. The food was delicious. I got the Beef Flautas and my husband had the Taco and Cheese Enchilada Combo both came with rice and beans. I'm so glad we came here, the staff is so friendly and attentive. We even went back for Dinner. You can eat inside or out on the peaceful patio. Will definitely be coming back here. Yummy! Thank you wonderful staff, y'all are great!
