City Cafe Diner

Fabulous food, atmosphere and staff. True diner style. So glad we found City Cafe Diner. First visit was with a large group and we took advantage of the huge variety on the menu and everyone's large portioned plate looked so yummy. I had the house specialty stuffed fish dinner which was so delicious, plus some of the best spanakopita I have had dining out. Desserts were amazing and an individual cake slice could easily feed 3 to 4 people.

This place was pretty busy at lunch time. I thought there might be a wait, but we were seated right away. Service was really fast. We got our drinks right away and even our appetizer came really quickly. We got grape leaves and they were pretty good. The menu is overwhelming huge. Too many items to choose from. The portions here are enormous. Look at how huge just the grape leaves appetizer was! I got a lunch special, theGreek Combo. It came with a Gyro and a Greek lasagna. I really enjoyed my Gyro It was delicious and huge, the meat was very tender and flavorful. The lasagna was a little weird to me. It's not my thing I wouldn't get that again. My lunch came with a small side so I got Greek lemon rice soup. The color was an unnatural highlighter yellow color. The texture was a bit gelatinous, but it tasted ok. Very tart, it had a slight artificial flavor to it can't put my finger on what that flavor is. They had a pretty fantastic looking dessert case in the front with a bunch of giant cakes and pies. I would love to try those one day.

We visited the City Cafe Diner passing through Huntsville, Alabama. We enjoyed the food and staff. They were very friendly and courteous. The food was cooked to order and served hot. Our drinks and a large Warm, soft roll and butter was served before our meal came. Their deserts are freaking awesome! Whenever we're passing through Huntsville again we will revisit City Cafe Diner.

First time eating here but had heard from others that they loved it. I had a Greek platter and the portions were huge and very good. The Greek salad was also very good. My wife had the chicken fried steak and salad. Also huge portions and very good. Service was quick and the waitress checked on us several times during our meal. Great experience!

Pretty impressed. We were seated immediately & the service was quick. We had our drinks before we were ready to order. They were out of one of the items we ordered and were quick to offer alternatives on the plate or bring us a menu to order differently if we wished and ended up making the original item they were out of fresh for us after they were also out of one of the meats on our second choice. The menu is extremely extensive, you cannot go wrong here, and the service is very friendly and accommodating. Not only do they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner options all day, they have a wide variety of food types as well. You can come here for anything... pancakes, Belgian waffles, Eggs Benedict, Breakfast plates or biscuits, classic American dinner fare, Italian & Greek dinner specialties like delicious creamy Alfredo, Lasagne, Gyro and Spanokopita to name a few, Burgers, Wraps, Sandwiches of all kinds from grilled cheese to French dip to Phillysteak to Pastrami, numerous salads of both green and meat (tuna/chicken) varieties. And, oh my God, the desserts! When you come in the front door and head towards the hostess seating podium, look right & you will see the cake case where they sell decadent cheesecakes, triple layer cakes & even apple pie, served by the slab. Huge slices that easily fill half a dinner size to-go box. I wish I had gotten pics of the meals before we ate them down (big servings), but you'll have to make do with just pics of the desserts we took home. Don't miss out on this place!
