Review The Cake Box - Huntington Beach

I ordered a special-requested carrot cake with cream cheese frosting for my son's graduation party. The cake was better than was expected. The cake itself was dense and spongy, not crumbly, and not super sweet. The cream cheese frosting was not overpowering in flavor, but had a thick, creamy texture that complemented the cake so well! I was told when I picked it up that it was a carrot cake in a different style than what is common. Everyone that ate it (not everyone loves carrot cake - it's ok 0 more for us!!) LOVED it! It was delicious! Scrumptious...Also, the cake decoration was simple and elegant, as was the decoration requested by my son. The service was prompt (cake was ready on time) and friendly and the owner, Paul, was very communicative and personable throughout the ordering process. Everything at The Cake Box either met my expectations or exceeded them. I highly recommend this bakery, especially if you're looking for a special cake that is outside the norm. They do excellent work here!

The cake box is the best!!! They did my daughters birthday cake and are currently helping us with cookies for HBHS Dance Team event! The quality of their product is what you would expect from a specialty bakery and they always are on time with your order. Cynthia is extremely accommodating and generous! I can't say enough positive things about her and The Cake Box!

Received a cake for my daughters' first birthday! Taste was what you would expect from a high end cake shop. Looks were exactly like what we described and dreamed of. Colors matched our other decor perfectly. Very grateful for this business and the special memory they were apart of.

Absolutely amazing cake! They made the most perfect rainbow cake for my daughters first birthday. I senr them my inspiration photo and they went above and beyond. It was more than perfect- by the looks and the taste!! Thank you again!!

I have always loved the cakes from here! But today was beyond what they did for my first grandchild's baby shower! So many compliments from all the people who attended. They took so many pictures! So this is an update to a previous review to compliment how awesome Cake Box is! I had a last minute request and Cynthia contacted me immediately after placing an online order. Not only was she and her staff able to make a birthday cake for the special person in my life happen, but they were able to deliver earlier than expected. This business has been in my family’s life for decades and I have nothing but praise for what they can accomplish. Thank you Cale Box!

I can't say enough great things about The Cake Box. Cynthia was more than accommodating and helpful as I planned cake and pastries for my wife's birthday. I didn't give them much notice and turnout ended up being bigger than I originally estimated. Cynthia made recommendations on what else to get to supplement the cake for the extra guests. She coordinated with the concierge at the Waterfront Hilton where we were staying and everything was delivered on time and as promised. She even made the effort to match the design/color of the cake with the macarons and cupcakes. Now to the important part...everything was delicious! The cake frosting was perfect. I don't like the really sweet frosting that supermarket cakes have. It overpowers the cake and filling. The macarons were incredible. Lots of our friends were asking where we ordered from. I'll definitely use Cynthia again. The party was on the beach, so the pictures don't do it justice, but trust me, you'll love their creations.

I called because I went to the Torrance Bakery and was floored when they wanted me to pay $350.00 for a cake for my daughters Baby Shower. The cake was to be a onesie. The filling was fresh strawberry mousse. The flavor was a so so and I could not do it. I called The Cake Box because it had great reviews and was close to my house. They made a beautiful cake. Just perfect as the pic I emailed and the flavor and freshness was wonderful. The bonus? It was have the price. They blew me away and I will always go there. Torrance who? I don't think so.

The place is so nice. The cake that was the WRONG color, from another shop, they let me take it in so they could fix the color if they can. They sure did! The Bridal shower my wife was holding, for her cousin, was great with no complaints.

I ordered this cake for my friend and brother in law from all the way in Texas for his birthday while they were out on vacation. Cythina was great help and got me in even though they was booked for 3 months out. Great customer service. Hope they enjoy thier cake 🤤

Whenever we have a family gathering, we always order the cake from The Cake Box. I've had the best Hazelnusstorte from them--as good as the ones I tasted in Austria. Ditto every other cake we've ordered from them.

They do such amazing work! I love this place and I Highly recommend. They do all sorts of stuff and they can really work with you even on last minute requests!!

Had a custom made monster cake made for my sons bday. It was adorable! All the guests were very impressed.

***DO NOT GET A CAKE HERE - IT WILL RUIN YOUR SPECIAL OCCASION... DESERVES "ZERO" STARS. TERRIBLE cake for a very special family member's 50th Birthday celebration. SEE CAKE RECEIVED versus CAKE PROMISED. 1. Dirty white frosting instead of bright white frosting. 2. DULL COLORS instead of those promised per email image sent to owner. 3. OLD LADY image NOT the SAME as promised and had faded colors. 4. NOT BUTTER CREAM FROSTING as promised, but whipped cream frosting. 5. Chocolate cake was dry and lacking flavor. 6. ***CAKE was NOT READY ON TIME. THEY WERE ONE HOUR "LATE!" OWNER NEVER replied to my email requesting a refund. OWNER stated that he'd only refund the cake "if" I returned the cake - WHAT IN THE HECK??? I was driving it to San DIego for the party!!! Thus, we are putting THREE FOURTHS of the cake into the trash - party guests ate a few bites and threw their cake away. ***DO NOT BUY A CAKE HERE, a Costco cake would have been a million times better and you'd save yourself $75.00. SHAMEFUL OWNER and BUSINESS.
