Excellent Thai restaurant combining traditional Thai with a modern twist. I had Chicken Tom Kha Soup & Lemongrass Prawns which were fantastic! Portions are generous & dishes are well balanced. I also loved their Grilled Brussels Sprouts Appetizer that are made with an excellent blend of Thai spices- these are a must try!
Can't wait to be back & try their extensive craft beer & cocktail selection. Such a gem for this neighborhood!!

The Munch on the Beach vegan dish was delicious. Cooked very well, great texture. I can tell Kris is amazing with customer service from my own experience and her interactions with other customers. She was very helpful walking me through my first time. I love the beer selection and the self-pour wall, so many choices and I can buy a little or a lot depending on how much I like the beer.

So famously amongst my friends, I'm the one who tends to shy away from "fusion" restaurants. I obnoxiously tout myself as a purist, comparing local dishes to that which I've had when I've traveled abroad, scoffing when the bratwurst isn't as good as it is in Berlin, the tacos pale in comparison to those I can get for $0.40USD at Taqueria la Hormiga in Puerto Vallarta, or the pad see ew is nowhere near as flavorful as it is in Bangkok.
And yet, this place is five stars for me. Almost inexplicably. But they did something that most don't do. They got the basic formula correct.
You see, I find that fusion usually pays attention to half of the recipe. They take an unimaginative burrito and add interesting Filipino spices. They take a boring hamburger and throw bone marrow on top of it. They start with plain ramen, and add something weird. And they call it fusion.
What I realized when eating at Munch was this. Both sides of the equation were balanced. Take the yellow curry away from the cheeseburger, and it's still a gourmet cheeseburger. Excellent brioche, top-grade beef, perfectly cooked, rich Havarti cheese... and THEN they added a yellow curry that could ALSO stand alone for its quality. The raviolis, again, were comparable to that at a fine Italian restaurant, then the sauce was red curry, which again was fantastic in and of itself. The Thai shrimp flatbreads, yet again, would be delicious bar food on its own, yet the fat prawns and multilayered Thai flavors added to the equation... they just work. You could separate out the Thai flavors and the American dishes and double the size of the menu and they'd all stand alone. That's what makes this place unique, to me... they concern themselves with both sides of the culinary equation, and the result is fusion that doesn't compromise either the foundational dish nor the infusion of Thai goodness.
Honestly, a very pleasant surprise, from a fusion skeptic, to put it mildly. Though maybe I shouldn't put it mildly... I prefer my food like I like my men, a little spicy.

The place was spacious and on on theme. Everything looked pretty clean and the staff was on top of everything. I can't review their food as I didn't try any but that beer wall was awesome!

Wonderful restaurant! Friendly and chill atmosphere with a beautiful decor. The service was great and the food was nicely prepared. My friend and I got a soft shell crab curry that was nice and crisp on the outside and paired very well with the red curry sauce. We also tried the Tom yum flat bread pizza which is a unique spin for those that enjoy pizza but want something different. Their calamari was great and was fried just right which tasted even better with their sweet chili sauce. In addition, they also have vegan and vegetarian options for those with dietary restrictions. Overall, I had a great experience and will definitely come back when I am in the area again!

I don't usually write reviews. But this place definitely deserves one. Super good flavors. Very nice place to hang out with friends. I've been to many Thai restaurants before and this place is definitely on top of my short list. I'm coming back to try more stuff. I ordered my favorite Pad See Ew and Tom Kha soup. And I tried a Thai style beef salad for the first time and I loved it.
If you are in the area, this place is worth a try.

I was in the area and I happened to noticed that this place just opened. My family and I decided to give it a try. We were very happy we did. Their fried noodles, fried rice, BBQ pork ribs and curry were amazing. I gotta say my favorite was their Tom Yum shrimp flat bread pizza. It was soooooo good! The place is very big and very well decorated. Very nice staff as well. If you are in the are, give this place a try.

Tried Munch Bistro out with some friends and was not let down! It looks great from the outside and inside, and the beer wall looks incredible. The food was good too and the Thai dishes with a twist all sounded great. The orange chicken sandwich that my friend had was delicious and the Pad Kee Mao I had was good with a nice kick to it if you ask for it.
My favorite thing we had were the mango smoothies with chamoy and tajin, they were so good all of us at the table got one. I highly recommend it along with the crispy pot stickers and cream cheese wantons! I wish I could have tried more dishes, but will go back for more!

I had the opportunity to taste some of the items on the menu during their soft opening. The food is fantastic. I recommend the Ravioli! A delightful surprise. Can’t wait to try their crafted beer selection and speciality cocktails.

The service was very polite and helpful. Although we did have to flag someone down a couple of times. I was very happy that there was a whole section on the menu for vegan dishes. The food was very tasty and my husband was happy with the beer.

SO GOOD. And the “pour yourself” beer wall is so cool. Kris was our server and she is the absolute sweetest! Def check this place out - $5 happy hour has about 5 apps and $5 pints

Being a Thai food connoseiur, I like to try every new restaurant in town. This restaurant is "Thai with a Twist" so I was eager to venture out and give this shiny, modern place a try. The decor was sleek, the dining room was dimly lit and the music was tasteful. I decided to try the Tom Yum Flatbeard, torn between my love for Penang Curry and the aromatic Tom Yum soup I knew I would return for the Curry Flatbread on a later date. It looked to be cooked perfectly with melted Havarti cheese topped with juicy jumbo-sized shrimp. When it comes to shrimp, it must be cooked right or I send it back. This shrimp was cooked for just the right amount of time, with no chewiness. I enjoyed tasting every different herb that I'm accustomed to in the traditional Tom Yum Soup. One of my favorite herbs is lemongrass, and this flatbread showcased the herbs quite well. Every bite stimulated my taste buds. I look forward to the arrival of their draft beer selection, with a handpicked brew for each menu item. 💥💥💥💥💥Food

My last stop for 2018! Munch Bistro is a new Thai restaurant that just opened shop in the city of Huntington Beach. They feature different types of cuisine, but with a "Twist!" A good kind of twist. Unlike your ordinary hole in the wall Thai spots, Munch features cuisines like the Tom Yum Flatbread Pizza. It's a unique spin with 14 different types of fresh ingredients like Shrimp, Jalapeños and lemongrass. They also served Soft Shell Crab that was paired together with the red curry. So far, the atmosphere and music provided a pleasant experience. I look forward to discovering new types of concoctions the chefs can whip up!
And that is all for The Latest Food Newz!
P.S. The Mango Iced Tea was just right on the sweetness level. Try it out!
