Review No Ka Oi Restaurant - Huntington Beach

Oh My! What an experience 👌 We loved the patio on back of the restaurant which made our family really appreciate the opportunity to spend time together without worrying about where our kids were. Small family ambiance with superb dishes that are unmatched for n Huntington Beach. Fine, delicate flavors of Hawaii with the huge American portions people love. Go 🎈📌

Amazing food. We came by for breakfast and had some of the best looking AND best tasting food. The waffle was so yummy and came with so much fruit. The pancakes were stunning and the coconut syrup is delicious. The pork Benedict was life changing and the potatoes that came on the side was so good too. We sat on the back patio and got served right away. POG juice is the way to go. This place is dog friendly so you can bring your dog and have them sit with you in the back patio. They have been open for 20 years and have had the same chef since day one!

Really enjoyed this restaurant. Get there early as Main street only manages to get busier the later it gets, especially during summer. This Hawaiian inspired place gets an A+ for their macadamia nut pancakes and homemade Portuguese sausage which really reminds me of the fare in Maui. The Kalua Pua benedict was delicious, albeit a bit soggy. The service is friendly and quick and the covered back patio is a nice step away from the constant foot traffic in the front.

Great spot, we came in for brunch, and the food is really good. We opted on the back patio, so it's easier for the kids, and it has heaters to keep you warm. I got the Loco Moco with brown gravy and a side of Portuguese sausage, and I highly recommend the Portuguese sausage. I liked the flavor of the gravy and the eggs with runny yokes. It's perfectly cooked. The meat tasted ok to me, but it's a great bite with all the components. We also got the cinnamon roll bread, and it's huge, chocolate pancake for the kiddo and side of bacon. Breakfast tacos that are so good come with a spicy sauce that is so good. is good, and our server was really friendly, especially to our kids special it made it easier to order. When you visit Huntington Beach Main St. Make sure to stop by here and you will not be disappointed.

The size of this restaurant can be easy to miss in a blink but great location downtown. I tried the Boss Burger which was fantastic. I ate it pretty quickly. I guess I was hungry 😆 They had a special on Baby Mai Tais for $7. Pretty good prices for lunch.

We went to No Ka Oi last week had an amazing experience and the food was good. This is our second time there and we had zero problems substituting proteins since we opted for the vegetarian options. The service was prompt and attentive and we will definitely be back.

Great place overall! Large breakfast portions, and excellent flavors! Best restaurant-made potatoes this style I’ve ever had! Good service and care is taken for presentation. Well priced too.

So it was between this and Sugar shack Cafe. A local persuaded us into Nokaoi, and I’m so glad we made the choice. I like a good a la carte option for breakfast, which they had plenty of! My husband got a big breakfast plate! All was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend. They also have inside and outside seating.

Hidden gem and hands down one of the best Hawaiian dishes I've ever had on the mainland. Their Crab Wontons were stuffed with real crab and the best ever. Definitely worth seeking out. The chef and staff are amazing.

Hearty burger with unremarkable fries. Traditional poke was pretty good. The Mermaid Bowl had delicious fish with plain beans and raw cabbage. Beer on tap was yummy. Great view for people watching.

We stopped here for dinner and SO glad we did. The food was amazing, the service was super friendly, and the drinks were great too. I wish we had a place like this in MN! I also found it to be really fairly priced, honestly maybe almost underpriced. Try it!

Consistently esthetically pleasing, tasty foods for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We love the Da Bosses (black bean) breakfast entree, Cheri salad, and meat lovers combo. The desert rocks--love the angel food cake + brie + strawberry + whipped cream delight. Always good, friendly service. Good price point. Love the outdoor seatings and umbrellas, too. Winner!

Busy kinda morning when I went, food was amazing, wife had to return her food (still a bit raw) but came back out and was amazing, slow on drink refils but everything is getting back to normal and they have a sign saying they need extra help so I fully understand, good food which is all that really matters in the end, good experience. Honestly one of the best eggs Benedict I've tasted in California. Filet mignon was cooked to perfection so compliments to the cook. Has a cool bar environment, plenty of indoor amd outdoor seating.

I was on a sisters trip to Disneyland and we wanted to go the beach for the day. When we all where walking we found this gem! Its been over a month since I have gotten back home and I'm still thinking about this place and their amazing food. We all got drinks! The yellow drink was a Killer Mai Tai! My drink was the watermelon margarita! The drinks were amazing and very refreshing! I would order them again if ever visit! The food we got was also just amazing! The garlic spicy edamame, AHI 12 burger. (Which I got and was just so delicious that I do still think about it and that wasabi mayo), Chicken Katsu plate.(My sister loved it and it wasnt to heavy or greasy), Korean BBQ Sandwich, and pulled pork sandwich. All of us left full and very satisfied. The food was flavorful and so well balanced. The staff was very welcoming and friendly! Our waitress was very informed and on top of everything! Its also affordable as well as cool place to relax from the sun. If I visit again I will be back for more food.

We had a great breakfast here. Lucked out on getting a table...all the restaurants along 5th were busy. Loved the Shrimp, Crab and Mashed Potato Enchiladas with a couple fried eggs!

This is the third time I have been to this place and it does not disappoint! I had the frittata filled with Portuguese sausage, zucchini, broccoli and feta topped with hollandaise. And a side order of the macadamia nut pancake. Can’t wait to go back.

GRACE IS BEST SERVER EVER! I came with 3 girlfriends yesterday for breakfast. Grace had some excellent suggestions (pulled pork eggs benedict). We had SUCH a good time! Coffee was excellent! Grace took SUCH good care of us - it’s our new fav place!

The staff is very nice and we were seated right away. Very good French toast but be be sure to order with fresh fruit for a delicious topping! The frittata was also very good (home made sausage) and I recommend it as well.

Really upset at my experience here. I'm a local and a long time customer. Normally, I'd rate it 5 stars. Delicious brunch and they allow dogs on the back patio. After my breakfast with Jackie as my server, I was appalled. It was July 5th, and apparently a lot of servers called out of work. Clearly, they were understaffed. Jackie started out refusing to split checks and came to our table with a terrible attitude. We saw her throw menus on the floor. Another customer had to pick them up for her. Didn't offer water or even greet us. We had two dogs with us and she didn't get them water either. After waiting for our food, I found a hair in the middle of my french toast. Another waitress replaced my breakfast without complaint. Jackie did not come to see how our food turned out, otherwise I would have addressed it with her. However, when Jackie plopped our check down (didn't thank us for coming or bother coming over to see if we needed refills), she still put my french toast on the check. Apparently, because I ate one of the pieces before finding the hair, I still had to pay for it. I thought it was common courtesy to take it off the check? We tried to speak to her about it but she was implacable. Raised her voiced. The entire back patio was staring at our table. It was absolutely embarrassing and bizarre. And, during the conversation with us, she openly admitted to being rude to just our table. She used foul language. I don't think the word "sh*t" is appropriate to say in front of customers. She claimed to be the manager but had TERRIBLE people skills. I've received no follow up from management or the owner.

POG mimosas are the best!!! Seems like they've got a new chef the past year because the food was on point. Leilani was an awesome server! Gotta hit this place up if your downtown.

Steven Migliore $145!!! One of the kids ordered 4 pancakes. Now do you think the waiter would say, " We don't sell stacks of pancakes, we sell one on a plate " No, No he didn't and I got charged for 4 plates of pancakes at $6 each!! SMH Not too thrilled with this place! I don't think I will be going back there!!!

It's our favorite place on main street. Everything is delicious, service is top-notch. We are there once or twice a week all summer long. Try the Ahi tuna with the wasabe mashed potatoes. My son loves the wings, which are Hawaiian style, so sweet but delicious. The wasabi ceasar saled is wonderful, especially if you have them add some salmon. The entire menu is great.

After having a terrible experience a few doors down at Dos Toros - we happened across No Ka Oi...we have been walking by all these years and missing out on awesome food and service. Tess our waitress provided excellent menu recommendations and service. We will now make this our new HB hangout....Hasta La Vista Dos Torros - Aloha No Ka Oi!

Love this place! The food is awesome! Eaten here about 5 times now- and haven't been disappointed yet. The best breakfast around in my opinion. My only complaint is with the chairs lol- very uncomfortable.

Love this place it's our family's tradition to eat here every time we come to Huntington Beach great food and drinks overall really really good place.

We were very pleased with the food and the atmosphere plus the service was great. We are heading back there this morning to enjoy more drinks and food. We will definitely revisit when we come back. Highly recommend

Visiting from MN. Told about this place because we wanted a Bloody Mary. Not only is their beverages good but their breakfast was fantastic. Ate there last two mornings while in town. PS our first server/bartender was Mandi. She was awesome

We ate here for Christmas Eve and had the best experience! The food was wonderful, and the service was GREAT!! All the kids ordered something different and loved every bite...very rare! Thanks for an awesome experience!

I ordered Spam and potatoes and toast for breakfast,It was delicious. I asked for a Rice with it without Toast. No rice? I was disappointed. Otherwise it was ok.

Great breakfadt/brunch menu. Loved the variety of mimosas. No wait, seat yourself. Wait staff very personable. Natalie was the best. Will go back every time we visit Huntington Beach.

love love love this place! from their own Lava coffee to brunch or dinner everything fresh and delicious! one observation their awesome loco moco has a yummy white gravy instead of the traditional brown... been coming here for 5 years never disappointed!

First time was great. Went on Sunday and the eggs were over done. Also waitress dropped silverware on my clothes and it left egg residue.

Next to the sugar shack. Glorified old Denny’s that always has a line for no reason. So if you want to wait in line and eat pancakes eat next door, or you can bypass the line and have amazing food that you can not make out of a box next door at this amazing restaurant. I’m staying in town for the week and excited to walk down the street to go here in the next few mins. I have no affiliation, just love there food and it always baffled me when I lived here why people wait in line for next door when their food is mediocre.

Went to Huntington Beach before leaving for the airport. Saw this place and hoped they had Loco Moco..... They did thank God 😀. And it was delicious. Service was friendly and the place filled up fast for lunch. Would go again.

Breakfast!. I've only eaten breakfast here, but I enjoyed it both times. My favorite so far is the Macadamia Nut Pancakes with coconut syrup. Absolutely delicious! They also have several Hawaiian-type juices, which are a nice change from the usual fare - the POG is yummy.

Our original destination was the Sugar Shack next door to No Ka Oi. The wait was too long at SS so we decided to give NKO a try despite the 77%. We had noticed NKO does not show up as a breakfast stop on US. We have not had lunch or dinner here so the low reviews may be based off that. The breakfast was fantastic and comes in very large freshly prepared portions. Ignore the low reviews and give this hidden gem a try!

Good breakfast. Good service up until it's time to pay the check. We've been multiple times and everytime without fail, the server disappears. Other then that, it's good!

Best French toast I've had in a long time. Owners and staff are very friendly aswell.
