Review Naugles - Huntington Beach

Joyful that someone bought the Naugles name and are on a mission to recreate the flavours and menu of the original Naugles. The Bun Taco and Taco Salad Cup are like a blast from the past. This location is on the beach so it's tricky to get to if just coming for a nosh. Find street parking or pay the guys in the booth if you want to drive up close. So worth it.

Awesome fast food by the beach. It was worth the pause along the California 1. I loved every single bite and will pause along next time I drive by.

When we pulled into this Naugles, I was immediately skeptical with the very modern building. But, Sam, our wonderful server assured me it was the same food I remembered from the 70s. I was not disappointed!! The same best burrito from the past. The new owner must have purchased the recipe for the ground beef filling!

So good we had to come back the next day for a breakfast burrito. The burritos are huge, the salsas are amazing and nacho cheese is bomb. Phoenix needs these beach burritos. Definitely a must if you're in Huntington.

The best place to eat. Nochos are the best for me but everything is great. Need to go back and try again since 1983 in San Gabriel by the Toy's"R"Us on Garvey blvd. This is when Toxic Hell (taco bell) the worst of the worst and wast of money and life took over. Let's get back to simple and Gooood (GREAT). I mean TASTY. GOOD FOOD MEANS LOVE. So treat yourself I will and my family. Quality counts. Love this place.

The best Mexican fast food by far. Quality ingredients. My college roommate came out from CT for a visit and we had to eat at Naugles together again. Brought back great memories and we thought the food was even better. Open more restaurants.

Naugles is just fast food. If you expect much more than del taco, you'll be disappointed. But it's unique, and it tastes the same and had the same quality it has since the 70s, with the same menu. And for both nostalgia, and quality dining on the cheap, that matters.

How wonderful! Naugles!!! Unfortunately, I have been gone for over 30 years and live in NC and am not able to taste again the wonderful food of Naugles. However, I remember well the wonderful fresh-cooked-to-order food. I worked at Naugles in Huntington Beach when I was 14 and 15 in ‘84 and ‘85, just a couple blocks from the beach. Huevos Rancheros, Macho Burritos (that were MASSSIVE. ..... for that matter, allllll the burritos were FULL! Not at all like these rinks dinky ones you get at other places these days.), All American Burger and Fries, Taco Salad in the shell, bean & cheese cups. So many yummy, tasty items! 🙃😊 Remember cooking the beans every day for hourrrrs in the massive pot, and stirring and stirring...... and stirring. It was a great place, and almost always a busy place to work. I remember our boss had 2 little signs, that would serve well today, if people lived by them “RULE#1. The Customer is ALWAYS right. RULE #2. If the customer is wrong, refer to rule #1.” And..... “RULE # 1. The Boss is ALWAYS right. RULE #2. If the boss is wrong, refer to Rule #1.” Loved Naugles! Such quality for the price! Was rare in those days, and definitely rare in these. I hope these gentleman that had a passion to bring it back, have brought it back in its fullness, and are giving the same amazing quantity and the same great quality at the same affordable price. If you do guys, you will definitely build a GREAT business and following. I envy all of you that are once again able to partake of Naugles!

The burritos we both bought were filled to capacity and could barely finish them.

Finally got a chance to try this place. I remember the original chain so I was not sure what to expect. I was not disappointed. The bun taco was great. My kids that are familiar with other chains really liked it and even mentioned how fresh the meat tasted.

I love this place!! Christian is the best! Burgers are very tasty and the tacos are HUGE!!

The food will take you back 20 years. One bite and you will totally remember why you loved Nagules. Service is a little slow but it is worth the wait. Can't wait until there are traditional brick and mortar locations.

Classic spot. Just check your order before you leave if you take out. Sometimes they don’t put the White sauce on their asada tacos 😭. Otherwise… Great spot in a great location ✔️

Enjoyed there taco burger and chicken soft tacos. My 2 year old finished have the burger and his fries. Nice quick stop during our bike ride.

Bean & cheese burrito is like a full pound of goodness. Hard shell taco 🌮 very good too. Ride or skate here, cuz parking is tough to find.

When I go to the usual fast food taco places, I'm used to the burritos being a smaller size and the fries as well. The quality at those places is usually lacking also. The chicken at one of them is like salty little pieces of rubber. I keep forgetting when I go to Naugles that although the menu items sometimes cost a little more than the other places, the quality and quantity of the food is WAY more. I got a chicken burrito yesterday, and thought I ought to get some fries too. The burrito was so big that after I was done eating it, I couldn't eat all the fries too. The fries were cooked perfectly, and had just the right amount of salt. This is great when you're used to hoping that the fries won't be under or overcooked or have too much or too little salt like at most other fast food places. Naugles has put a lot of planning and effort into getting the food just right, like you remember Naugles being in the 70's, 80's and early 90's before they were bought out and converted by a larger competitor. Go try it and see for yourself!

Cheese Burritos are the bomb! I fondly remember them from my childhood. Not only is Naugles the freshest and best tasting fast food available, I enjoy a warm nostalgic feeling when eating there. For me, Naugles is always a five-star experience :-) *****

Bun Tacos !!!! The best. Love this place. Staff is really friendly, food is awesome, and reminds me of high school days.

Thank god there’s a Naugles again. Always my favorite fast food growing up until the evil Del Taco bought them up and shut them down.

Great people, great food. From what the owner has said, “as the restaurant grows again, the prices will be adjusted to compete with everyone in the industry.” I tried the new chicken club burrito, and it is good. I went in really hungry and left completely full.

It's very much as I remember as a kid. The tacos are still amazing, with the two keys being the original taco sauce (bomb) and the fact that the cheese, lettuce, and tomato are cold when served (also bomb.) And do yourself a favor, order the cheese burrito with sour cream and green sauce. You'll thank me.

I only get to go here once a year. I live in the high desert. I hope they expand to San Bernardino soon! They have great food

The good sodas are gone and I got a combo burrito with no meat and a 1/3 reduction in size.

We tried the bun taco, cheese burrito, combo burrito and fries. All great! It was like traveling back in time.

Not the taste I remembered. Very disappointed. Would not recommend eating there.

Don had the bun taco and the naugleburger. I had the taco salad cup. All were delicious and fresh. Just the way I remember it...
