Hard tacos - shredded beef or chicken are both excellent! My all time favorite hard taco
Chile Relleno - cheesy, good chile flavor, smothered in a delicious ranchera sauce
Chicken tortilla soup - chunks of tender and juicy chicken, cheese, tortilla strips, onion and tomato in a light savory chicken broth that’s full of flavor. Simple and delicious!

Mario's is a local hangout that serves up great traditional Mexican food. You can always tell the quality down to the salsa. The service is fast and efficient. I, personally, order no seasoning on my shrimp tacos and they are perfect. My son has enjoyed burritos, casadillas and dessert that he has loved.
Great service and food in a cozy, comfortable old school booth setting with visual interests and warmth.

Update: We've been to Mario's a number of times and the food is consistently good and the service is very good. Love the cozy booths to relax after a long day working. Added pictures of the gorgeous shrimp tostada (no salt requested) salad. My son loves just about everything but especially enjoys the servers who we have come to know. Long tenured which speaks well for the restaurant inner workings.

Amazing Mexican restaurant with decent prices and well-priced alcohol. The menu was revamped so it’s cheaper to get combos. The service is slow because there is just no one to work. Be kind.
Pro tip: get a draft pitcher, it’s the cheapest way to drink.

My wife and I come her frequently for a Friday or Saturday night dinner. We always get a few margaritas, they do a good job if you know what I mean. ;) We regularly get a few different items from Mario's, either a fajita, combo plate or carnitas. Salsa is tasty which is very important in the ranking of Mexican restaurants!

Mario’s serves good quality Mexican food for good prices. The menu itself is hard to read with no clear order of items or short explanation of what the dishes are but the amount of options is astonishing and there is something for everyone.

The beef is top quality tender. We sampled each other's plates and they were all fantastic. I got the Mexican pizza, and others got Colorado burrito carne asada quesadilla and 2 taco platter. All very good and you will not be disappointed.

My first visit. Good food, great chips and salsa... Excellent quacomole.. yum... not that cheapy stuff. Beans & rice excellent... i had taquitos... they could have been stuffed better with a bit bigger tortilla but they were good. Should have had sour cream included... Originally wanted Chile Verde but they use beef not pork so chose Taquitos instead to try. Prices a little high but I really enjoyed the food overall. I would go again.

Marios Mexican restaurant in surf city Huntington Beach is by far the best Mexican restaurant ever I travel a bit of distance just to eat there . Wonderful service fabulous food.. can't say enough about this place. Don't ever shut your doors. Not even on the 4th of July. I traveled there on a busy holiday to find it closed~ I should have called. My fault.
