This restaurant is often used for dinner on birthdays and anniversaries. I always have the teppanyaki course meal. It is inexpensive, the portions are large, and the service and taste are very good.
They take a commemorative photo for anniversaries and offer free ice cream.
They are Japanese owned and operated, so the taste is authentic.

i love this place. the food, the people, the vibe is always on point. Sashimi platter is my go to. Wife like the everything roll. The bar lounge is an excellent place to unwind and the hibachi is fun for family and friends. "Try it you'll like it!"

Celebrated a birthday, and the 2 kids had never had that type of experience, and they absolutely loved it. Orlando and the staff were very hospitable and friendly. Food was off the hook. Filet and shrimp were done perfectly, and it was even a great value. We'll be back!

I’ve been coming here since 2011 and til this day this place doesn’t disappoint. The best crunch rolls ever! I do miss their old “uniforms” (kimonos) will definitely continue to come here.

We love coming here and sitting in the bar, having a few Mai Tai’s, a few hand rolls and sashimi.
Amy, the bar manager, does an excellent job of seating us and keeping our food coming out in a timely manner.
We are not fans of their cut rolls but the octopus is amazing when you ask for it cut very, very thin. With fresh, thin slices of lemon it is awesome. I have not liked it anywhere else but here.
The Poorman hand roll is our favorite. Maybe because we don’t like seaweed wraps and this roll uses soy paper instead. Add a few fresh slices of jalapeño and it’s sensational.
Their sashimi platter is one of my favorites. Very large platter to share with a friend or two.
Their Mai Tai’s are different from the regular cocktail and they will knock you on your butt after a few. Beware!
Great dark bar atmosphere and lots of regulars. We enjoy it at least once a month!

Wonderful experience. The service was great, the food was delicious. The scallops and filet mignon were cooked perfectly. The chef was funny as well. The ambiance was great. This place has an old school vibe with big portions and friendly staff. The quality of everything was great. The next time I'm in the mood for teppan, I'll be coming here.

I have been coming here since they opened. Last night was the best ever. Our dear friends had their 50th anniversary and we chose Matsu’s to celebrate. Our waiter was over the top. We had the Love Boat for 4 and it was delicious. Our friends were both on walkers and the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. Best experience ever.

I have been coming to Matsu for 30 years and it’s never let me down. Absolutely the best value in socal for sushi. Quality is 9/10 however, their pricing is competitive with most mediocre sushi spots.
The tropical iced tea is a winner.

This is the best sushi place in the whole country, my husband loves coming here for the experience and NOBU is amazing he really knows how to make a great sushi experience and I absolutely recommend the toro and rainbow roll, - Everything here is so fresh tasting and high quality I love this local business!

Fun place to have a family gathering. The food boats are huge. I prefer the sushi here. Waitresses dress like geisha girls and wear geta sandals. I commend them because it sure looks hard to walk. But they do. Very traditional decor.
