Not sure why there are bad reviews, just don't go there if you're that displeased. I went yesterday and got 2 dozen, half spicy pork and half jalapeno cheese and chicken. I absolutely love them. Don't bother with the few negative reviews, these tamales are excellent. I will definitely be going back. Thank you Granny's.

Best tamales in Houston. Been going here for over a decade get yourself some good food and meet some very friendly business owners. They will treat you right and give you a big portion of food you will get full great salsa as well try the hot one it will burn your mouth but in a good way. Yee haw!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Been buying them for awhile. We love them because they don't do a lot of masa like most tamales you get they are full of meat.

I got a dozen chicken tamales and they were so good. I went around 3 so I didn’t have to wait. The store was clean and the staff was friendly.

I was skeptical about this place due to its name, 'Granny's Tamales'. Made me think it wasn't authentic Mexican food. Although I must admit they are a little different from my mother's authentic tamales, they are still pretty decent. Tamales are hard work to make so whoever reads this, show a little more appreciation for their hard work before you leave a 1-star review. Some people complain about receiving the bad batches or whatnot, but I received a good batch. Yes, it looked kind of mushed together, but they tasted good, nonetheless. Not all of us share the same taste buds. But compared to other places, they are the closet to homemade tamales I've tasted so far so here goes my 5-stars.
