Been going to this place since the 80s. They did not have a dine in then
I remember a small window you would knock and the owner would sell you the carne Seca. Last time I went was 2 years ago my mother loved going there for the coffee and the machacada a la mexicana and to just talk to one of the ladies there I believe the owners wife. We would go on Saturdays to try different breakfast but always got the same. Mom is gone now but she would say this is the best real Mexican food all homemade. I think I will go and have a cup of coffee and huevos rancheros with machacada a la mexicana in honor of mom. Besides I always buy a bag of machacada for home. Service is great the owners and their son very attentive. I highly recommend this place.

Family owned taqueria where you can get anything from breakfast tacos to machacado/dried beef by the lb. The chubby son is pretty handsome. Just saying.

Excellent lunch. Small space, only six tables. Friendly service. Salsas are great. We had Entomatados and Enchiladas and both were delicious. No alcohol here, but excellent iced tea.

My family loves coming here, the food is great. It's always nice to eat a a family owned restaurant with great food and service. By far one of the best places to go for authentic Mexican food, everything is made there from scratch.

This place is a hidden gem. Its the only place outside of Nuevo Leon where I have had good carne seca. The aporreado is the best dish on the menu, you won’t find it anywhere else in Houston. I drive from Sugarland to this place on weekends whenever I can.

I don't know why it's still called a Meat Market it is not labelled as such.
I used to drive past this restaurant on my way home. It looked nice but the parking lot was always vacant, hmmm? I changed my morning commute one day and passed by only to find the restaurant open. They only serve breakfast and lunch, so plan ahead. I really enjoy their Machacado for breakfast and I drive across town often to indulge myself. Great family run Mexican restaurant!

By far the best authentic Mexican restaurant I’ve been to in Houston! Fresh homemade tortillas, and the staff is super friendly and welcoming. Love this place!!

Very friendly, speedy service and delicious tacos. The "apporreado" taco consisting of shredded dried beef and ranchero sauce and the "carne guisada" taco, a type of beef stew, were really tasty.

When I have a hankering for some machacado that tastes like my grandma's I come here. This place never disappoints and serves up that abuelita style comfort food.
