Absolutely the best!
This is probably one of the most amazing authentic Mexican restaurants but wait it just not your average traditional Mexican food there's a twist of an explosion of delicious favors. By far the best food I've ever had. If your a foodie like me it's a must if your ever in the Houston area. Oh and the hot dog is amazing it's the god father of hot dogs!
My best compliments to the chief
Absolutely amazing. The food is incredible the margaritas are to die for. It’s a bit of a drive for me but well worth it! Going back a second time this week!
On business travel and found this gem, their $10 sandwich combo lunch special was a no brainer. Chopped beef sandwich, side order of chicken casserole and a medium drink were all so good. The staff were super friendly, definitely recommend to anyone looking for some good classic Texas BBQ.
One of the best $10 lunches in TX. Great staff and food. Wish all places were just half às good. Very impressed.
If you'd like some decent BBQ this place is a hidden gem. Just get in line order what you'd like, sit down and eat and enjoy the laid back vibe. I've tried the brisket, pork ribs and chili on a cold day is perfect
Sliced Brisket is hit and miss. Sides are consistently outstanding. Best Collard greens, broccoli cheese rice anywhere. The proprietors are always on site and always fantastic. Large ,open dining room good for business guests. Great place.
There are few restaurants I go out of my way to visit. This one is at the top of my list!
I was told to never trust a skinny cook, if you meet the owner you will know you can trust him. The owner and his wife are always on site.
To complement the BBQ are the sides, no fried options but the mac and chees or the greens are great. They are only open for lunch and during the week so plan accordingly.
Some of the best Texas brisket I've ever had, definitely beats some of the signature restaurants on the River Walk in San Antonio. A very pleasant, family friendly, family owned place with friendly staff and great good. The sides are good, the sauce is an excellent example of Texas-style sauce. I'm a Carolina boy that prefers pulled pork with a vinegar/tomato mix (also known as "Lexington style") but this could almost win me over. Whether your local, or have an extended layover at the airport, it's more than worth the visit to try some of this fine Texas Barbeque-and all the fixin's!
The biggest potatoes I've ever seen! They actually give you a big potato every time unlike Papa's Barbeque. This was my second visit to this long time family owned restaurant. I've met the mother and her son's who usually serve the food which is cooked to perfection! I love that you can get huge portions and friendly service in the hood y'all. I highly recommend you have the chopped beef bbq potato on your first visit. Enjoy!!!
On my last day visiting JSC, the crew met up for lunch here. It is truly a hidden gem. The staff couldn't have been friendlier and the food was well prepared, hot and fresh. I had the ribs and brisket. The ribs were fall off the bone tender and the brisket was spot on. If you want good non-chain BBQ, this is definately the place to go.
