This Luby's location has restored my faith in the company that it can still have a future. I just went another Luby's in SW Houston which had probably the worst food I have ever experienced. Like I said in my review for the other location on S Post Oak, I grew up on Luby's so I have a good idea how things should look and taste. I decided to give this location a try because it is so close to my office. I was blown away how much better the experience was between this location and the other one. The staff literally went above and beyond in many ways, even carrying my tray to a table while I paid.
The salad area was wonderfully stocked with the usual salads in their rightful display, not prepackage unappealing to-go boxes like S Post Oak. When I was seated you could see more than half of the tables had salads of some sort. If you show a product properly, people will buy it! I ordered a fruit salad and the server walked to the fridge while I groaned because I thought she was getting a prepackaged one from the fridge. Instead she returned with a chilled bowl like Luby's used when I grew up. The hot section of food was clearly stocked with actually hot and fresh food. I order my normal liver and onions but everything looked so good (including the special of the day brisket) I message my spouse if they wanted anything brought home. The sides were fully stocked. The mac & cheese was cheesy and even had a bowl of extra cheese sauce to add if you asked for more. The bread had the normal breads but also had a toast I hadn't tried before which was wonderful.
After I sat at my table you could hear the all the servers checking in on everyone constantly and having small talk with customers. I'll be back.

Luby's is a household name. It reminds me of my childhood going to the cafeteria. This was a very special event for us, so it's already great to go back. I like the choices and the food is fresh. The only feedback is for the food servers to be a little more welcoming. Also some explanations about what comes with certain plates works be helpful too.

What can I say other than, you need to stop by and eat here. Great food made with love and served hot to warm, endulge yourself for lunch with main meal and a cheese cake desert. You'll be back again to try the next choice of meal, with plenty of selection. Enjoy!

Great food. Very tasty. Great customer service. Prepare to pay premium price. 35$ 2 people. Not including tip. Although we are stuffed. The price seemed to be a little deceptive. If you get the side salad. Your meal goes from 8$ to 15$ somehow.

Like stepping back in time! I had not been to Luby's in years. To be honest, I thought they all were closed. I'm glad I drove by this one.
This was an older Luby's. It did not have upgrades or look inside like the newer ones. I felt like I stepped back in time. When I was growing up our family went to Luby's on Sundays after church. A flood of memories came through.
The food was the same as I had remembered. I had the fried fish with tartar sauce and it was great.
All of the staff were great - especially Ms. Dee. I have not had a server as on point as her in years. She even brought me a larger bowl for my salad! She was the perfect example of what service used to be in a world that has lost so much of that good old fashioned caring about what you do and striving to do best at whatever you take on.

Not as good as I remember but then again times change and so do cooks. Some stuff was as good as I remember but some items weren't, mainly the baked fish with slivered almonds on it.

Love this place! The interior is roomy, the employees are helpful and friendly, as well as the customers haha. This chain of restaurants gives a “home” feel and the food is great! I’d recommend the chicken fried chicken 🍗

Normally the liver be tender and tasty but yesterday it was half cooked and the gravy was awful. I'm a regular at that location and I must say I was shocked the food was a waste. But the service was good it was just the food!!!

Breakfast was delicious and service was great. Drinks are a little expensive but the all you can eat buffet is perfect. A lot of different food choices. Love the toast it's crunchy just the way I like it. The waffles and pancakes are good as well. The servers are very kind, helpful, and polite.

Was my favorite place to eat but on yesterday 11/22/16 the servers were very rude everything I like to eat we don't have any we had 3 kids wanted tenders when they finally got them there sides were cold and 5 of us were done eating and ready to go refills were wrong and I had to go get my own refill we were treated horribly and we spent a lot of money for 10 people

Heard this was the best Lubys in Houston. When I would arrive before 8, mgr was kind enough to let me inside so would not have to stand with walker. Waitresses would help get to the nearest table and let me choose tv channel.

Everything was fine until we leaving and I went to use the restroom and an employee was going also. We both used the restroom but she did not wash her hands. She just went back on the floor back to work! I went and told a man that was running the cash register whom I thought was a manager and he didn't seem to believe me. He thought I was talking about someone else and I told him who it was and she was watching me and I didn't care! People should always wash their hands after using the restroom!!
