Great food, good service. I like the vegetable quesadilla, spinach quesadilla and the shrimp quesadilla. I like the shrimp enchiladas even though I prefer the shrimp enchiladas covered with h ranchero sauce over the cheese sauce. I like the crispy beef taco dinner, vegetable enchiladas and cheese enchiladas. Also the restaurant serves many different dishes. It is sometimes difficult to choose.
By far the best Mexican food in Houston!! The $2.00 margaritas and the pins coladas are pretty darn good to! Service is slow but great!!

Don picos is a great place for lunch . I like the 3.99 Enchilada special on Thursday and Monday
Once I discovered this place, 8 years later, still my favorite . Food , prices , and margaritas , all rock. You'll never leave unhappy.

One of my favourite small restaurants. They never fail me. Everytime I go there, anything I order, just can't go wrong. This time I was surprised by the spicy margarita that I had and boy oh boy, was it spicy. But I loved it.
The waitress are a difficult to follow if you don't know Spanish and that's a bummer. But apart from it , love the place.
Absolutely amazing! Ordered the beef burrito on the lunch special. Couldn't finish it, it was that big. The staff were always checking on me, refilling salsa bowls, drinks, and asking if I need anything. They were extremely polite. The food was made really quick, hot, and fresh. Definitely a go to for a quick fix on Mexican food.
Great food and people. Best kept secret around! Definitely put this one on your "must go to soon" list!
Small Tex Mex place. Clean with friendly staff. The food is good and cheap. Or ordered the beef enchiladas which was good and served with gravy and not red sauce. The salsa was tame and not remotely spice.

It's ok. Ordered chicken fajita nachos and got beef. The reason I ordered chicken was because I had the beef before and it's just tiny chopped pieces of beef, drier than you would ever want on fajitas but not so bad you have to send it back. For the price it's still a doable plate of nacho's. The red salsa is very good. Great flavor and nice spice. The green salsa however, is just a weird texture with a pickled flavor that leaves you wondering, who thought that was good idea? But I would go back and try other menu items because the whole restaurant smells like delicious Mexican food and the staff is very nice and friendly and again, the prices are good.
For us we preferred the red sauce to the green sauce. Chips good, thin and crispy. Chicken Tortilla Soup - FULL of chicken. Other plate had tamale, cheese enchilada, crispy taco, refried beans and rice. House margarita was so-so. Both plates tasted good. Very reasonable prices.
Don Pico's is a restraunt that I had been eyeing for months, but delayed because the parking lot was always full. Friday early-afternoon, I decided it was time to throw out any delay and have lunch. I'm glad I did! The service is great, atmosphere clean and best of all...food was authentic Mexican cuisine. The full parking lot supports my opinion...give these folks a try! They earn it!
Pros: Beef fajita meat is very tasty. They let you half order the quesadillas and fajita tacos. Margaritas are great and fairly priced.
Cons: Bathrooms and ceiling tiles never seem to be very well maintained or clean, and that always makes you nervous about the cleanliness of a kitchen.
Overall: Great for a quick fajita taco and margarita. It won't hurt your bank account, and the service is always superb.
Our go to Mexican restaurant! We drive past at least 6 others to get here. It might be a neighborhood restaurant, but it's worth it. My fiance says the charro beans are the best he's ever had. The queso is great, the homemade tortillas are great, the fajitas are great and it's $2.50 margs any day before 7. This place is one of our regular haunts and that won't change soon!
We love this place for cheap good Mexican food. Their fajitas are my top choice but I haven't had any complaints about their food. Love their green and red sauce that come with the tortilla chips when seated - PS, they are free online some other restaurants.
Dine on a Saturday and enjoy their Everclear magaritas for only $1.99.
I love this little hole in the wall. Margaritas are strong and cheap. Chips and salsa is amazing! Fajitas are pretty good. My kids like it here too. We go at least once a week.
It was great to get some good fajitas again, after doing my own cooking for a long while. The service was quick. The fajitas were delicious and we had a good experience.
This place used to be a favorite neighborhood spot for us, then they had a long rough spot where we stopped going because the food went down hill. Now though, at least for the menu items we eat they seem to have their mojo back! Been there 2 or 3 times lin the last couple months and it seems like the Don Picos of old...

It's behind a convenience store or something similar & it doesn't face Bay Area, so a little hard to spot the first time. Google maps helped out greatly.. The place was great, overall. A drawback will be revealed at the end of the review.
Loved the service & the food. We had a server, Edwin. Great service. Checked on us just enough. Not to much. Kept us happy.
The food was delicious. Im LDS, so I'm not a drinker at all, but my table drinks. They had happy hour margaritas & beers. They said they were very tasty. I had the shrimp cocktail. It came out in a frosted glass. It was on a hot plate for some reason,. Likely a mistake or an oversight. Didn't matter because the cocktail was divine. Perfect for my taste buds. Sweet sauce, tomatoes, onions, avocado, I requested no jalapeños... loved it. Hubby got some fajitas over grilled onions. I'm allergic to pork & bell peppers or he would've ordered Chihuahua Fajitas. They came highly recommended. He didn't order that so that I could try the fajitas. He's my sweetie pie. The fajitas were not overly seasoned like some places. Just a good meaty flavor. A little lime & salt & we were set. I saw others got Nachos compuestos. Each chip had its fixings. Chicken, beef, or vegetarian. I loved the salsa & chips served, also. Red & green. I preferred the green. Mmmm mmmh! Everything was delicious.
The drawback??? The restrooms are way way small. Handicap size & beanpole size. The garbage can was way too big to be in the stall, but there it was. Could barely turn. I'll try the handicap space the next time. Forgot to take pics of the foods. Sorry. Try the place. Delicious.
This place is always accommodating to our big groups. Margaritas are delicious with several flavors and quesadillas were ok. Server was good, quick and attentive to us when needed.
