Review Thien Thanh Food Manufactor - Houston

This place is absolutely amazing!!! The service is always great. The guy at the front is always so nice and explains what the food is and what it's relatable to and I appreciate that! One of my favorite dishes is the bánh cuon nhan thiet!! I will travel an hour just to satisfy my cravings and bring an extra family pack home with extra cha lua. Always so fresh and such great flavor!!! They also sell small "tamales" but it's wrapped in what I believe in banana leaf, it's tapioca stuffed with dried shrimp and pork belly! It's fantastic!!!!! I 10/10 recommend this place! They do only take cash or zelle, no cards.

Busy place on a Sunday morning. We had the family pack of Banh Cuon Nhan Thit. It was 17.99 but it would feed about 4 or 5 people if you were eating this as your main course. They are a CASH only restaurant. The rice noodle is super thin and they give you ample amounts of pork and wood ear on the filling. Cannot wait to come back and try dining in and trying other items on the menu.

This place has long been a staple of the food they serve and they have been serving this food for a very long time. Most notably, if you don’t eat in, they have variety packs and To-go packs prepackage of the noodles and mung bean dishes ready to go, because that’s what they are known for. Add in the fact that the fish sauce, comes in a soup container size on your table, is the only way to eat those delectable meaty and savory bites.

This place is famous for their banh cuon (a delicately thin rice crepe filled with seasoned ground pork and vegetables). But this time we came for the bun cha. A dish of grilled pork served with cold rice noodles and a healthy dose of salad fixings and herbs. Lettuce, pickled carrots, basil, mint, cilantro. Absolutely divine and generous enough for 2. We also got the cha ca which is a similar dish but instead of the pork it's with grilled fish seasoned with turmeric and fresh dill. Both are absolutely divine. Light but satisfying.

If you are looking for good, authentic banh cuon - this is the place to go. We’ve been coming here for years. They have different arities (banh cuon cha, banh cuon thit Nuong, etc). They are all good. Good portions and all plates come with bean sprouts and herbs. Fish sauce is on the table in large containers for self serve. If you are not in the mood for banh cuon, they have lots of other options as well. Their banh bot loc is good but it does have a lot of mung beans. Other popular dishes there are bun oc and bun cha ca. Recommend cash. They also have platters of banh cuon to go - which we do often. No need to call ahead but if you want a lot of platters, it may be a good idea.

Very good food at affordable price. The portion is generous. We ordered "banh cuon thit nuong" (grilled pork rolls), "banh beo" (rice cake), and "cha ca la vong" (baked fish fillet with noodle/salad). That filled 4 of us up. They all tasted very good.

Get the ground pork and pork roll Banh Cuon - the rice paper skin is so thin! Delicious and hard to find freshly made banh Cuon like this!

If you love banh cuon like I do then Thien Thanh is the right place to go. I have to come here every time I come to Houston. The place take cash only. I shorted almost $5 because I only have enough for the food and not the tax. The owner was really cool and waived the rest.

I went to Thiên Thanh Bánh Cuon Thanh Trì with my girlfriend and her family. They are Vietnamese and in town visiting, so they wanted to see what Bánh Cuon tasted like in Houston's Chinatown. Bánh Cuon is made from a thin, wide sheet of steamed fermented rice batter filled with a mixture of cooked seasoned ground pork, minced wood ear mushroom, and minced shallots. This restaurant is located in the green plaza that hosts Lee's Sandwiches. The restaurant was busy when we walked in, but there were still tables available. I noticed there was a big bottle of fish sauce on the table. Guys, DON'T MISTAKE THIS FOR TEA because it totally looks like tea! HAHA I was told to try one of the Bánh Cuon plates, although they had a lot more dishes available. There were a few of them with either pork or shrimp. I opted for 11) Bánh Cun Thit Nuon (steam rice paper with BBQ pork) for $7.50. The food came out pretty fast. My girlfriend's dad told me that my Bánh Cuon was cut up North Vietnamese-style and was handmade. This place apparently serves styles from both North and South Vietnam. My plate meal was also served with steamed bean sprouts. I dipped the Bánh Cuon in the fish sauce (which I also put in some chili sauce) and tried it. It was pretty good. I don't typically eat this type of dish, so I'm not a good judge of how authentic/good it is, but my guests all said that this place had great Bánh Cuon. Overall, this place was good. I liked my BBQ pork dish, and I would see myself coming back to order it again. The restaurant has a lot of seating in a comfortable setting. It's not too packed like other restaurants you'll find in Chinatown, and there's plenty of parking available at the plaza.

Their Banh Cuon Thit Nuong is my go to and it never fails! The grilled pork and thin rice paper is perfection! The Banh Bot Loc was pretty good as well but we go here for their Banh Cuon, you can’t find it anywhere else made like this!

If you are craving traditional Vietnamese cuisine this is the place to go. It's very laid back with helpful staff. The food flavorful with affordable pricing. The restaurant's trademark dish is Bánh cuốn (Steam rice rolls with ground pork and mushrooms). There are other varieties such as meatless , grilled pork, or with shrimp. I enjoyed the food so much had to grab a Bánh cuốn variety pack for later.

Still one of my favorite place to eat banh cuon or Vietnamese rice paper rolls. Treated myself here for lunch since I was in the area to get my phone fixed. This place is always busy during lunch, so call ahead and place your order if you want to take it to go! Banh cuon is a traditional Vietnamese dish you can eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Anytime of dinner. So light and tasty! I normally always order the mince meat and pork loaf one. I prefer mine with extra bean sprouts and they do a really good job of packing it in! It’s always better eating it there fresh but I was in a rush. Inside of the store hasn’t changed much, it’s always so green! lol Only downside is that, this place like many other asian places in Chinatown accepts CASH ONLY!! kind of a bummer because I don’t always carry cash on me. Always be prepared! Plus parking here sucks. Damn asian drivers just parks anywhere, on the line, in a non parking spot, or even running over a cone. Sigh downside of Chinatown.

CASH ONLY--Met up with friends here to eat so I wasn't aware. It was really good, but their to go cups/utensil were dusty/dirty.

We got the Grilled BBQ Pork rolls 20 mins before they closed. Absolutely delicious! Fresh ingredients, home made noodles, would go back and recommend to anyone. Very healthy portions for a reasonable price. So damn good!

Went for Bún chả Hà Nội after seeing the Parts Unknown episode from Hanoi in which Anthony Bourdain and Barrack Obama eat the dish at a small restaurant. At Thien Thanh it was well presented and a ton of food. I could not finish. The waiter was very helpful in explaining the dish. I enjoyed the experience and plan to go back.

Great Little Place. Go with your Vietnamese friend or be brave and just order randomly. It's all tasty. You put fish sauce in the small bowl, then mix in chili sauce, then dip in your pieces of food, and then eat it above the larger bowl.

The green bean milk smells like rotten milk but tastes like those green bean snacks, which is an interesting experience to have, but I was glad when my Vietnamese friend finished mine for me so that the restaurant owners didn't see that I didn't want to finish it. They were so nice.

The restroom was awful though.

Banh cuon !!. This Vietnamese joint is a little hard to find, because it's in a small strip mall and difficult to read the sign from the road. It specializes in Banh Cuon ... a dish fairly difficult to find well made in the States.

Their other entrees are also excellent ... highly recommended.
