Chuy's

This place was on my way to work. I decided to sit in the bar area and spoke with someone , I think her name is Morgan. I asked if I needed to be seated. The way she spoke to me was appalling. She told me the busboys needed to clean the tables. As I waited she said, again in a very rude manner, "There's someone behind you." This girl needs to work where she has no contact with folks. I decided to sit in the bar and not in the bar area where there are high tables. I asked Stephanie at the bar if I could order from the children's menu. She said no. I told her I'm a small eater. Then I ordered quesadillas. She suggested the half order. Now Stephanie knows about customer service. The quesadillas were greasy. You can get corn or flour tortillas. You get two in the half order and accompanied by sour cream and guacamole. That was plenty for me. The chips and salsa are great and the ambiance lively. But this Morgan needs to chill.

Pretty reliably consistent w/ food prep and quality. I miss the older version of their quesadillas though. But value is still good and I like to get takeout or order to go. I miss their green chile rice; never came back after covid hit. They also started charging a mandatory tip when you order online, then prompt you for another one when ordering.

The food and service were really good when we came in on Saturday for a late lunch the server was friendly. The number of small kids was out of control, large numbers I was wondering if I'd gone into a kids place. But the food was great and everything that could be controlled by Chuy's was good! The margaritas were excellent!

Always a solid TexMex meal here, and the ambiance is fun without the usual cheeseball decor of a chain restaurant. They did a surprisingly good job this time around, as the hostess told us they were shortstaffed but the meal was great, and our waitress did a pretty good job, considering all the work she had to do. I’ll probably give them more than five stars this time just because of that. Kudos to everyone who works here, they’re doing a good job, and they deserve some recognition.

So tonight is Cinco De Mayo one of my favorite days to celebrate with food because I love Mexican Food. Now because we were pressed for time running errands prior to arriving. We were stuck in the evening rush hour traffic with fellow foodies. The wait wasn't that which was expected and hostess were very accommodating after we missed the initial call for our table. So Kudos to the hosting staff, I truly appreciate that courtesy. Now once we were sitted at the table Rufino was our waiter. He promptly brought out Chips and dips. Took our drink order and from there our service was a missed opportunity for Rufino. Not for sure if he is new to wait staff or he assumed my man and I weren't good tippers etc. We had to hunt him down our drinks, he came back with water. Proceeded with taking my food order because my man wasn't eating just me and he wanted just drinks. After placing food order. I am still waiting on drinks, about 15 minutes. After chasing him down again. He finally returned with drinks. Same method was done with my food order. It was almost as if he was trying to avoid my table. Because he had not delivered my plate. Just 1 plate. I watched service drinks, food and to-go containers to some women who came after us. Drinks to another table and chips and drinks to another table. Finally I got my plate. Extremely hot, probably under the salamander for a few minutes. Anyway, the food was great but unfortunately, I couldn't finish it because I consumed too many chips waiting on drinks and food I finally got the attention of a floor supervisor in Black Shirt and asked for a to go container and the check please. And another supervisor or manager in orange polo shirt rung us up and closed the the tab. Now my man gave him a tip of $2.00 and I wasn't going to leave him anything but a note because of service or lack of attention to us with service. I really don't know if he is new new to wait staffing or what. But he needs to pay attention to time and customers orders etc. Today was busy but he attentive to others so I don't think that's the problem. I am good tippers and I come there all the time and order Margaritas to go with curb side service and leave at less 6 to 7 dollars for that service. He really put a bad taste in my mouth with service tonight. But your food was great and I noticed your other staff appeared to want to assist us but out of respect. They stayed in their sections. Please address this service mishap with Rufino and again my drink and food was great. Best Regards Kimberly
