Today I wasn't driving around to try new BBQ but just looking for a spot to have lunch, I heard of a place off Eastwood that was supposed to have good Mexican hot dogs but after driving there I found out it was closed on Mondays... I was driving home down Telephone when I saw a place the caught my eye it is located at 723 Telephone Rd. 77023 it's a place I knew cause I went to middle school near there and its right across from the Jack in a Box we use to go to. The place looked different because I remember it just being a dump but it has been fully restored and made into a burger joint called Alfreds Burger House I ordered a bacon cheddar with fries and really was not expecting much just a regular burger I could get anywhere in town. When I got my order I was surprised the burger really looked good and it came with home cut fried something I really enjoy rather than the frozen ones most places use. The burger itself was packed with flavor and was just like I like them greasy but not too much that's when the owner Alfred came up to me and asked how everything was and I told him it was not what I expected and that it was really damn good. The owner then told me he been open only 6 weeks and that a lot of people had been going in to check out the place he had to completely gut the place out and get everything up to code but he wanted to have a place where people could go and enjoy a good burger. Everything in the place if freshly done and each morning he grinds the meat using only the best chuck and other meats to give it the best mixture of favors, we talked about different foods that when I told him I don't usually do reviews for burger joints but this place was going to get a review from me... If your ever in the Austin High School/Jackson Middle School area you need to try this place you won't be disappointed. Thanks, Alfred and the staff for doing a great job and wish the place the best of luck I know I will be going back!!!!!!

This was a great delicious ground beef burger. I recommend it to everybody that comes to Houston.
I love the Burgers here. We go at least 2 - 3 times per week. Their ground beef is 100% pure Beef! No fat, no gristle nor additives. It is what another famous burger place used to be not too far away. No comlpains here!! Love their home made Fries and Onion Rings!! Sundaes are all Blue Bell Ice Cream!! Yum!!
Certainly worth another visit. My Mexican burger was really good. I didn't expect a fried egg on top, but it made the entire meal a "WOW".

Best burger house on this side of town. Great quality produce and buns. Burgers are juicy, fries are wonderful and shakes are whipped really smooth. Worth every penny...😋🤑
We were there recently at the suggestion of a friend, after being at a Birthday Party where we couldn't get any service or order anything from an over worked staff at another restaurant. Alfred's Burger House was wonderful. We all ordered our food, talked and enjoyed - exactly what you are supposed to do when you are out and about with friends.

Great neighborhood bar. I stopped in for a bite to eat and kept it simple. I had a chili cheese dog, fries and a beer! Best dog I've had in a long time! Beers were ice cold and the friendly service rounded out the experience. Great selection of beers and cocktails, and the burgers look fantastic. I'll definitely be back in for one... I recommend you do too!
Im always on the look out for a great grilled chicken sandwich and Alfred’s nailed it. It was perfectly grilled & juicy not dry. The classic American burger was also a major hit. Highly recommend the truffle fries. The spot is quite quaint and a bit nostalgic, which I love. The staff is friendly and everyone in the kitchen had a mask on. Definitely adding them to the list. Look forwarded to returning soon
Our first time here. Employees were very nice. Place was very clean. Food was so good. I forgot to take a picture of my husband's Mexican Burger. He loved it. We will definitely be coming back.
Place is so clean and fresh!! Food is simple & inexpensive. The burger was so fresh! Just make sure you tell them medium cooked. Fires were good but the chicken strips with its own fries had a very simple taste in my opinion. Nice & relaxing place for a simple good burger!!
Alfred’s kept it simple and mastered their craft. We were greeted when we walked in and the place was clean. The menu is small so making a decision was easy. I recommend the bacon cheddar burger with natural cut fries. The burger was juice and the patty was not frozen. Customer service was great and from the time I order to when she called my name was about 10-15 minutes. This place overall is 5/5 stars.
Fantastic burger, I had the bacon and blue cheese and it was tasty and well proportioned. The fries are natural, hand cut and are done perfectly crispy. There are tables to sit down too. I will definitely be back!
Alfred's Burger House...this place serves up awesome hamburgers and cheeseburgers... that's all I've had so far...the inside was clean and nice and very organized with Houston memorabilia including Texans and Astros. The service was fantastic. The staff was very nice. I definitely recommend you try this awesome restaurant!
Three pages of Mexican food and three burger options isn't a burger joint. Good food though....cute, small Mexican food place.
We are exploring in our new neighborhood and found this tucked between two high schools. We didn’t expect much but we were pleasantly surprised. Everything we have eaten there has been top notch! Great price and great food! Absolutely the best. Give it a try and you will love it too!

Such a lovely place! True American burgers in my opinion. Service is unmatched, and the food was delicious. We will definitely be back. Especially for their home-made pies (not pictured!).
Tried all the wings (Lemon pepper, hot, and Parmesan) and all were incredibly juicy and flavorful! The wings come with a side of steaming fries that are made just right. The booths were small but reminds you of old diners. The order was fast and prices were average. Went around 7 so we had the whole place to ourselves.

Excellent neighborhood burger joint using fresh beef. Also had the chili cheese dog which had french fries INSIDE the chili dog which was different and good. Bottled beer, friendly service and inside dining with cool corner view. Will be making my 3rd visit soon.
I don't know about other people but this burger is pretty much perfect. Ten stars
Tried this burger restaurant months ago and ever since then, I've ate here at least twice a month! So far my top favorite restaurant in Houston, and I also really like their fries. Would definitely recommend, I'm not from this area but people who live in the area are lucky to be close to this restaurant, I'd definitely come more often if I lived in the area!
Great burger joint to hit if you goto class or work at the University of Houston. Simple burgers, big flavor, fresh fries, and lots of fixings and sauces on the side.

Update: This place at one time only served burgers. Now it's transformed into a tex-mex menu. But I can say they have done it right!
I had the fajita enchilada plate and it's at the top of the list of the best ones I've had. Also tried the crawfish and they were really good.
