Wonderful and succulent lunch today at the Golden Wok.
I started with an Egg Drop soup, requested and received some Wonton broth added in.
Next I feasted on the General Tso's lunch special which included fried rice and an Egg Roll all of which were washed down with Lemon Water.
I also ordered to go Cheese Rolls and Egg Rolls for my partner for her to feast on once she finishes getting her nails done across the way from here.
All in all a great meal in a relaxed environment.
This is a small cozy restaurant a little bit off Ella next to Big Tex storage that we first tried about two months ago.
They have both spicy and non spicy dishes with lunch specials every day.
My wife loves their sweet and sour shrimp, while I lean towards the spicy side of the menu, such as Hunan Triple Delight.
The food is prepared fresh and HOT! You will want to let it chill a bit before digging in. It's that hot and fresh.
The portions are very generous and the price is reasonable. The staff is very friendly and the owner will come out and talk with us each time we're there.
Any of the spicy dishes can be made more or less spicy depending on how you like it.
The pictures are from when I ordered the House Lo Mein which is beef, chicken, shrimp and vegetables served with a pile of noodles and tasty sauce.
We also ordered pork fried dumplings (potstickers) which you can also get steamed.
The lunch specials are available from 11am to 3pm everyday, and include steamed or fried rice and your choice of soup.
This is NOT a buffet, but a made to order restaurant and you can taste the difference.
The style of food is primarily Cantonese, with other styles included.
This is our new go to place for Chinese and we'll be back again and again.
They also offer carryout and delivery for those who are in a hurry and want their food got when they get home or back to the office.
They are open Tuesday through Sunday from 11am to 10pm. CLOSED MONDAYS.
Small resturant, this is my first time here and i absolutely love it. The food is fresh and very flavorful. This not your run of the mill Chinese buffet a great small restaurant when you order it is brought to your table highly recommend this little gem. Youll love it here the staff is friendly. Orange peel beef is awesome.
Food was pretty good service was ok. It looks like they do way more in Togo food than anything. They were one of the last places I can remember to reopen after pandemic, they say 1 year ago. I used to really like it here but probably won't be back since I feel other places in the area are better executed.
Good food served hot and fast! General Tsao lunch special with hot and sour soup, egg roll and steamed pork dumplings and tea… Only $20.
Gigi highly recommend this dive just across from Union Kitchen on Ella Blvd. it may not look like much but looks can be deceiving!
Check them out today!
This gem of a restaurant was tucked away in the back. If you blink, you'll miss it, but it's well worth finding. We ordered the lunch specials: sweet/sour chicken and also pork. The order was served with 2 large scoops of white rice, a delicious veggie egg roll, and a small bowl of a soup of your choosing, we chose wonton. It had 1 significant sized, well tasting wonton with sliced green onion floating in the simple yet tasty broth. The main dish was served dry, with the s/s sauce on the side. The chicken was battered and fried up to result in tender, yummy strips. The pork, however, was a bit over fried, resulting in a dark, hard crust and meat that I submerged in the s/s sauce in order to soften up a tad bit. The sweet/sour sauce, while good, was nothing special, most likely prepackaged, very similar to what you can buy at the grocery store. I also ordered beef and broccoli to go to have for dinner. Even after reheating in the microwave, the beef and broccoli were tender and well cooked. Overall, the cleanliness of the place, friendly waiter, and affordable price make this place a good find. When we arrived, no one was seated, but a guest was leaving. As we sat in and ate, no one else came in to dine but they had many to go orders, and I believe they also deliver.
Delivery driver was hesitant to deliver to my apt. I never had this issue before. I always buy food from this restaurant. I understand a rotten egg can exist in a basket. If this happens again, I will stop eating at this restaurant.
Edit: Changed my review from 1 star to 5.
I just moved out of this area and Im going to miss this place. I always for pick up and their food is delicious. I will be coming back all the way from Katy.
First time at Golden Wok. It will not be my last visit. I ordered the chicken fried rice. The chicken was perfectly cooked - not one dried spot on it. I loved it. From what the menu states - they only use white meat in their rice dishes.
By far the best Chinese food we’ve had in a long time since one of our favorite restaurants closing due to owners retirement. This is now our new favorite spot. Definitely will be back soon!! Flavor was amazing and with great portions too!! Sooo good!!
We love this place. It’s our go to spot at least weekly. The service is great and the food is delicious. The lunch special is a great deal. Totally recommend Golden Wok.
