Finally was able to try this place and it didn’t disappoint. Cumin Lamb and green beans were a stand out for me. Boiled beef, pepper steak, orange chicken, Mapo tofu were all excellent too. We tried a bunch of dishes and all were great. Seemed like the traditional dishes were quite authentic from my limited time in China.
The staff was very friendly and service was very fast.

Stopped here for a late lunch. The restaurant is spacious and clean. We sat by the window and it was quite nice. We tried string beans, pineapple fried rice, and 毛血旺. 毛血旺was authentic and delicious. Will come back to try more dishes! Good service and easy parking.

Great place to try some spicy, mouth-numbing foods
I would recommend the soup dumplings, green beans, pepper twins steak cubes, fried spicy chicken cubes (very mouth numbing) and their duck with steamed buns. Staff are a bit overwhelmed as they only have a couple servers to cover the entire room so service is slow, but friendly.

I was a little skeptical when we pulled up at 1:45pm and were the only customers but this was incredibly delicious! Shrimp xiu mai, xiao long bao (soup dumplings), dry fried green beans, Pepper Twin shrimp, tea-smoked duck, and Mongolian beef. I love the spicy-numb of Sichuan cuisine and the peppers on the shrimp and pepper sauce on the duck delivered a nice punch. That duck was so good that I got a little sad when I finished chewing my last bite. Service was friendly and attentive.

Really good sichuan food with decent ambiance. The ginger fish, pepper chicken, mapo tofu and Mr and Mrs smith are excellent! Service was quick and efficient. Also really easy to get a table. Highly recommend.

I want to point out that the dish called Mr. & Mrs Smith is an exotic cold & unusual beef-ish🤐 appetizer dish, which is designed for a more adventurous palate.
Despite its unusual complexity, these guys managed to pull it off very well. The szechuan🌶 numbing peppercorn gave it the right kick which made it more distinctive.
On the other hand, the vibe, crowed & ambiance were average. Probably if the place was smaller, it would have felt more intimate.

If you like spicy food, this is the place where for you. It is very reasonably priced and the food quality is excellent with generous Texas portion. The golden tofu excellent.

Great food, great service, and atmosphere is nice too. The food comes quite quickly, it's very authentic food (especially the spicy dishes), and the plates have large portions. Rice is free, as is in most places in Texas, and there's plenty of seating. Also lots of parking specifically for the restaurant.

We have been to a few pepper twins locations and this one is the biggest of them all.

Spicy dishes! Food tastes fresh. It was my first time there and I will be back to try some other dishes. All dishes we ordered were good, flavorful, fresh. Service was quick and good. White rice was a little lacking but other than that, yum! Oh they use that pepper that makes your tongue tingle type of spicy lol.

Right now I will leave this as 4 stars, but will update to 3 or 5 after a second visit.
As of now they have my favorite Soup Dumplings in Houston. The wrapping is light and not chewy. The filling has a lot of flavor and they actually have soup inside.
I ordered the Pepper Twin Chicken, it just tasted very Salty. No other flavors of anything else just Salt. I do not know if this was just a fluke, but I will be back to order something else to get a better view of dishes.
Location is beautiful and plenty of parking. Staff was not very present, just ran in and out from kitchen. It was not full at all when I went, so not sure if they are just short staffed.

This is a top notch Chinese restaurant. For some reason they weren’t that busy?
The location was clean, the staff were kind and friendly.
We loved all of our dishes that we ordered. The spicy dishes were indeed spicy, so beware if you don’t like spice. Thank you for bringing quality Chinese food to Houston!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Pepper Twins for lunch, and there's much to commend about this establishment. When it comes to food quality, I can't fault them. It's a solid 10 out of 10; everything tasted fresh and was cooked to perfection. For those seeking a traditional “China” selection, this place is a gem. Their menu boasts a plethora of authentic dishes, deserving another 10 out of 10 in my book.
In terms of taste, they nearly hit the mark, scoring a 9 out of 10 from me. Every bite was a journey, with flavors dancing on my palate. However, there were some minor issues in our dining experience. The table we were seated was sticky. Even the teapot 🫖 felt like glued to the table every time we need to refill the cups. While our food came out promptly after the order, the sequence was a tad chaotic. It was surprising to receive our cold appetizer midway through the main course.
One thing to note for larger parties is the 20% mandatory tip. I found this a bit on the steep side. And while it's not something I'd fight over, it did leave a slight bitter taste. Additionally, it did take a while for us to be greeted after seated, which is something they can work on for better customer satisfaction. Oh, and a heads up for future patrons – the fish fillet dish listed in the non-soup section is actually a soup dish, something I wasn't expecting!
While Pepper Twins shines in many areas, especially in the culinary department, there are a few service aspects that need fine-tuning. Would I come back? Yes, for the food. But I'd think twice about bringing a large group.

We have been to a few pepper twins locations and this one is the biggest of them all. We were greeted by a very charming and friendly waitress and she introduced us to this honey roasted duck and Osso Buco Berkshire Pork Fore Shank, and they both were delicious. We love the whole experience. From the fast and responsive service to the unique atmosphere where the views of the oaks and the other facing restaurant is just so peaceful. We definitely will come back and recommend to other.

A Houston classic. Good sushi, extensive menu. You are sure to find your favorite, traditional sushi here. Plus, a few new favorites. All the staff are friendly and helpful. When you're in the mood for straightforward, really good sushi, I highly recommend this place. (It is getting more and more difficult to find in Houston!) Give them a try!

I'm sad, went there yesterday and it was closed down.

My best friend and I had the worst experience ever here today. I came in at 11:00 am and she met me a few minutes later. I had ordered an iced tea and she ordered a hot green tea. She has Celiac so can not have any wheat products at all. We tried to see if we could do some substitutions to the lunch special, like boiled shrimp instead of tempura, and the waiter told us no to everything we asked. He was also very rude and mumbled when he talked, which made it very hard to understand him because of his accent. He told us the only thing we could do is order different sushi separately that had no breading, but that defeated the whole purpose of lunch specials. We were not asking for unreasonable subs, just not to bread items and fry it. So we decided to leave and go across the street to Myako. It took ten minutes to get my check from the waiter for my tea. Myako was awesome. They had no problems subbing two items on a lunch special and even brought out gluten free soy sauce for my friend. We will never go to Cafe Japon again.
