Hunan Chef

Normally I am not a fan of Chinese buffets because I find that there is never enough variety for me since I am a picky eater. Some of the best egg rolls I have had. Sesame chicken is awesome too. We made this our regular Chinese food place when we get the craving.

I've been eating here for nearly three years. I live nearby. Always good food. Love the baked salmon, spare ribs and the Won Ton Soup is delicious. I come here when I'm not feeling well and take home a container of soup. My mom lives in Spring and she also welcomes the soup when she doesn't feel well. Always great service and clean.

We came with a large party over here (about 12 of us) and had such a great time. We called ahead, and minutes before they closed, they let us in. Any dish that we wanted, they were willing to cook it for us - that had already finished. Everything tasted fresh and definitely cooked not too long ago. The staff was very accommodating and even brought some items of our liking to the table. I loved how clean they kept everything as well. This is how a well-kept chinese buffet keeps return business. My favorite was the Salt and Pepper white fish. Everything else tasted great, and they all had distinct flavors. Will definitely return 💯!!

If you're hungry, you need to come here. This is, without a doubt, the best buffet in Houston! Enjoy all their delicious food, fried, boiled, sautéed it's all great. Noodles, rice, and more for a couple of bucks. You'll be glad you came here. Try and go as soon as they are open because it gets packed, although the line does move fast. With friendly staff serving and taking your plates as soon as you finish and refilling your drinks quickly as well. Enjoy!

I loved their oyster (it was fully cooked), but the options on sushi were limited. The food was great overall, the staff were fine, and the atmosphere was okay.

We were looking for an Asian buffet for lunch and we ended up choosing Hunan chef. We waited a bit before being seated and once we found a table, we headed towards the buffet spread. They have a wide variety of items, in chicken itself they offer: Orange chicken, Kung Pao chicken, Jalapeno chicken, Sesame chicken, teriyaki chicken, and chicken on a stick. We absolutely loved the Jalapeno Chicken and sesame chicken. They also have pork ribs (they were only okay) and steak options. Apart from that, they serve baked salmon, fried fish, fried crab wontons, oysters, mussels etc. They serve white rice, steamed corn, steamed pork dumplings and fried pork dumplings. The stuffing in the dumplings is good the exterior however had become a bit chewy. I must also mention that their chilli oil is delicious. Along with all of what I mentioned earlier, they also serve different sauces, fresh fruit, a selection of soups, fried potato wedges, french fries, corn patties, fried biscuits, fried chicken, and a few more items. They have a sushi bar too. In the dessert section, they offer chocolate cake, jelly, custard, a delicious coconut sweet, and fried dough coated with cinnamon sugar. They also offer soft serves in a small cone in the vanilla, chocolate, and Choco vanilla flavor. It is definitely a wonderful item to top off the buffet with. Although they have a comparatively limited spread, this is a place where you can expect an affordable meal that mostly tasty and is of good quality. The staff is polite and helpful. We enjoyed our time here but, we do feel some improvements need to be made. 4 stars because we liked about 60-70% items on their menu. Among other things, the dumplings were disappointing and the egg rolls/vegetable rolls didn't seem to be fresh, and we also felt that they need to add more items to their dessert section.
