Review Thai Spice - Houston

Sean Yuan
Thai Spice...my one true love. Is it 100% authentic Thai food? Not really. Does it taste fantastic and bring you to your happy place? Certainly. I’ve probably been here 15+ times since moving back a few months ago, but this time I went with the duck curry special. As usual, the food was fantastic. The curry was flavorful and they do not short you on the duck meat either. I do wish the curry was a bit spicier, but you can always ask for it next time. I also tried the chicken noodle dish and the calamari which were tasty as well. See you next week.

Great food in a cool upstairs location. Service is fast and efficient. The winter spring rolls are a must!!!

I've been to the one in Voss but this was the first time at this location. I would ask that they have more options like the other location. I love their food so I'll give them that. The customer service is always great.

The soups were very good! Cozy spot not very fancy! The place needs a little sprucing though...

Quick, quality, tasty, reasonably priced and generous portion. Food was great, generous portion. And reasonable price Pad Thai- it was great that it wasn’t so dry. Kings recommend and massaman curry, both delicious. Tip: If you want spicy, do tell them. Otherwise, it will be mild. Price online is not correct. It’s dollar to three dollars more. Still, much better pricing than Thai village!

My coworkers and I visit this restaurant quite a bit for lunch. The buffet is great!!!! The food is always hot and delicious!! The service is also always great and there is an elevator for those that cannot climb stairs. The facilities are always clean in the dining room, near the buffet, and the restrooms.

I usually order from this restaurant to go and when I was in my medical training, had it delivered on many a long nights on-call. I was in the neighborhood and decided to stop by for a late lunch and was surprised to learn that they are closing this location permanently...today! Spoke to the kind person at the counter who said they would be looking for a new lease elsewhere but have not yet found a new home. Hoping they can find something as Thai Spice has always been a solid spot for lunch and dinner.

Solid yellow curry and a respectable level of heat. Generous portions and fast service, although they did get my order wrong and sent a spicy broccoli chicken instead of fresh rolls, but the broccoli chicken was damn good! I might even order it on purpose next time.

Great selection of Thai Favorites. Fresh ingredients and great flavors in all the dishes. Staff is very attentive for being a lunch buffet. I usually go at least once a week!

Pretty great thai food for relatively low cost. I personally like the noodle dishes but friends love the curries. Great casual setting with friendly waiters and pretty fast service! Not as spicy as other thai restaurants so don't be *as* afraid to go up in spice level. Thai tea is pretty sugary which I enjoy but some of friends think it is too sweet. Definitely my go to for thai food whenever in the area.

Thai Spice gets some flak for not being "authentic" enough but I think the food is pretty solid. It's a bit sweeter than a hole-in-the-wall Thai place but that doesn't really bother me. I definitely reccommend the massaman curry. Prices are a bit steep, but that's a given considering the part of town it's in. Nice atmosphere inside and good service.

I love the food here! It's not authentic Thai (but then, what food is authentic in the US) but the flavors are amazing, the food is perfectly cooked, and the staff are friendly, thorough, and efficient! Whenever I come back to Houston for a visit, I make sure I go to Thai Spice, even if I don't make it anywhere else!

The staff was friendly, and kept my tea glass full (which is not an easy task). The food is more authentic than American Thai-- so if you're expecting standard greasy American-Chinese style, this place is not for you. I particularly recommend the basil pork, and the curries.

Found this place by accident. Very small very clean and the service and the food we got was top notch. Would highly suggest to anyone looking for great Thai food. Will certainly be be returning.

I love Thai Spice! It's always fresh, friendly, and calming. It's upstairs at this location in Rice Village. They have a great patio if you luck out and nab a table there. They do buffet at lunch, but dinner is awesome too. The waitresses are so nice, and the food is as spicy as you want it to be. Love love love!

Thai Spice is always delicious! I did not know they offered a lunch buffet, and it was great! They have a variety of flavors and the staff was very attentive even though we were a large group and only eating off the buffet.

Watered down sauces. No flavor in the pad Thai. Not coming back here.
