Review Richmond Arms Pub - Houston

A true pub n American form. The interior is divided into both large and small spaces for variety of seating, and the front patio is spacious and covered. I love watching matches here w the rowdy crowd and enjoying the broad selection of beers. Service is reliable and the menu is as English as it gets this side of the pond. I enjoyed the plowman’s platter and their soup of the day, my friends had fish n chips, and enjoyed as well. Parking in back is usually pretty full so I sometimes Uber here. Prices are reasonable.

Great service and staff if friendly. Deck outside needs to be replace, which I think they are in the pr5 of doing this.

They have a great selection of beers. The parking lot is a bit of a challenge on a rainy Houston day with a few potholes waiting for it’s next victim…the food is your typical bar food selection. They survived Covid so that’s a great plus…the bathrooms are clean and they provide a nice basket of paper towels and soap - another great plus. The staff needs to do a better job at paying attention and providing five star service - example - we had one potato skin left which I was planning on eating until one of the bartenders just lifted it off and into the trash before we even had a chance to say “hey we aren’t done”. Proper form is to ask the person(s) if they are finished. We could have said something but neither myself nor my partner were needing the extra drama or calories so we let it go. Someone made a review comment that the staff is sassy…I would prefer to just frequent places where the staff is nice and treats people as they themselves want to be treated. Yes, it’s bar food - but a little extra love in the food you create will go a long way to keeping new people coming back - and that’s the secret to restaurant and bar survival after 2020. 🦋

Very comfortable and friendly people. The bar is really nice. Sit by the fire inside if you are chilly. They do have outside heat lamps to make you comfortable as well. We saw Shotgun Sally and had a great time.

We were walking back to our accomodation when we noticed a sign saying English pub Well being English ourselves could not resit going in and loved the whole atmosphere And really loved listening to the music of our teenage hood 1980 we could of sat and drank there for hours especially with the open fire

For that old world pub experience where they greet you by name ( Norm! ).Great selection of beers on tap, full liquor bar, kitchen and exceptional service.Did I mention the big screen to watch the Astros WIN another World Series? Yea.It's there also.Quit wasting time & money at the faux pas "pubs" and get to the Arms 💪!

Great pub! Very cozy and accommodating. Friendly and pettable cats prowl the outdoor seating. The bartenders are friendly, the food is very good, and the beer selection is great! The regulars are nice and on mondays there is a dungeons and dragons group at 6pm that anyone can drop into even with no experience. It's one of my favorite places in the area! Parking is also super easy which was a pleasant surprise.

Nice cozy place with large selection of beers on tap. Outdoor area with picnic type tables. We went to play darts and drink a beer. Was not too crowded on a Thursday night. We will be back.

Say what you will but I love this place. It’s a dive that survived Covid and I’m happy! The drinks are good, the bartenders are sassy, and I love karaoke on Thursdays❤️

BIG crowd yesterday for the England vs Croatia match. Though I had to wait outside in the sun for about 30 minutes, I had a great time once inside. Waiting was because of capacity, not because of the pub. Waiting just let me know that it was a great place! Staff was firm, yet friendly, and service was prompt and upbeat. I had a tuna sandwich with crisp lettuce, fresh tomato, and plenty of tuna (not drowned in mayo) on lightly toasted bread. Crowd was fun too! I would definitely watch another game here.

As an expat Brit of 20 years, I've been here a lot, most recently the last 2 Saturdays for the 6 Nations Rugby, and I've also been to Quiz nights and the Toad Club. To comment on the latest visits, I don't mind the $20 door charge, indeed there's no option but to pay, and I do like the atmosphere inside. They have a great selection of beer and cider, and friendly staff. The British Breakfast though? Not so good. I had it 2 weeks ago, lukewarm food and the tea was horrid. So I tried again yesterday, in case the prior had been an aberration. Still lukewarm, Styrofoam plate, bacon dreadful, banger good though. Had coffee this time, much better than the tea last week. I suppose they're catering for too many to expect a good breakfast. But if they're going to, they need to buck up. Otherwise, a good pub.

Great food, beer and atmosphere. I had the bacon cheese burger that was excellent. My brother had, what he called the best ever, salad. Or waitress was fantastic. Very attentive yet not intrusive. Only negatives: Trivia Night!! No football or baseball. (Not their fault)

Houston standout for years. I started coming here 25 years ago when we wanted a beer after work. I moved to CT 7 years ago but recently started working in Houston again and this place is still the same which is a good thing. Solid food, solid beer selection.

Great place for British and German beers on tap. The staff is wonderful and the bar food is mostly British. I also met wonderful wife there 18 years ago. Also a good place to watch rugby and the Barclays Premier League.

We paid $20 as a cover charge to watch the Rugby 6 Nations. I would have given it a 4 for the place and authentic decor, minus 1 star for a very bad tasting bacon to my English breakfast. It was not fresh for sure. Rest of the stars are lost because of below. It was all in all a great experience until the bartender decided that she did not want to serve us any longer. Her reason was that she think my buddy seemed drunk.... He had 3 beers over 5 hours and was drinking water, and was for sure not drunk. Instead of admitting to their mistake, the held on to this. For an English pub, i have never seen anything like it, and I saw multiple other guys being obviously drunk, still being served.. Good experience until then. Totally unprofessional in my opinion. Their treatment of us makes me not want to come back again.

Love this place! Good food too. Needs to be bigger for the World Cup though! 😜
