I am in town visiting family and we went to this place for dinner. It's not too big so has a nice intimate feel to it. The food was amazing. At least what I had was. I ordered a shared brussels sprouts dish, which had a mix of raw, fried, and grilled spouts and this amazing aioli. I ordered a side of salmon which was cooked perfectly. I wish I had taken pictures of it but forgot. lol. Such a great place. I'll definitely be back.

The food was yummy! Interesting, unique flavors for the adventurous eater😋 Just one hiccup...the waiter forgot to enter my order so my meal arrived late. Oh, and...Chocolate Ravioli?!?! Yes please!!

A small warm restaurant in the heights. Which, if it's in the heights, it has to be good there are so many great spots to eat in this area....and it is good, very, very good. They have a short menu of different entrees, wines, and sharables. The service is top tier. I would absolutely recommend Mastrantos for an outing with friends or family.

Came here for dinner Friday night. Overall would describe it as American-Italian fusion menu with a Texas twist. Open kitchen, great lighting (might be a little dark for some) and decor, and a bustling atmosphere. We had the black crudo and carrot hummus for appetizers. Both were quite good, only feedback was some of the thicker carrots were a little undercooked. We had the tortellini and the carbonara for entrees. Both were excellent. The carbonara is a dish I would have again. We had the carrot cake for dessert, it was tasty but based on the temperature (very hot in the middle, cooler on the outside) it seemed like it had been microwaved prior to serving, which was disappointing (hopefully we were wrong). We would eat here again next time we are craving pasta but probably skip dessert or try a different one next time.

Atmosphere was nice, drinks were excellent, and food was good but imo very overpriced for what I got. I tried the salmon and tequeño.

What's located in the Heights, is delicious, and super cozy? Well, that probably describes plenty of places, but I'm talking about the restaurant, Mastrantos! We arrived pretty late, and although they looked quite busy, we were seated right away. The service was wonderful, the food was fantastic. The serving sizes looked a bit small, but I'm guessing that's because here in America we are used to eating double the size of a normal portion. It actually ended up being the perfect size. We both felt full, but without feeling like we had eaten too much, which, of course, meant there was room for dessert! It was a tough choice between chocolate ravioli and carrot cake, which sounded amazing. We ordered the chocolate ravioli, and again, the portion size looked small. However, we shared one dessert and it was plenty big enough for both of us. This was a nice dining experience. I enjoyed the food, which was expertly prepared. The atmosphere was nice, it seemed to me like a "special occasion" restaurant, but would also be nice to visit every now and then "just because."

I have to start by saying how amazing the service was. The staff at Mastranto’s were so helpful with sharing their meal choice opinions and were so accommodating. The espresso martini was the best that I’ve had! Both my partner and I were in love with our appetizer choice and main courses. Can’t recommend this place enough…a must for a date night in Houston!
