My wife passed in the wee early hours on the 18th Stem Cell Floor. A nurse named April rushed me out of the room at 4am, tossing our belongings in paper bags. We were inpatient 73 days.
Being so distraught, I wrecked my truck in the parking garage 10 after being kicked out.
Look elsewhere for compassionate care- they are all about the money here.

And clinical excellence of this caliber is only exceeded by the culture they have developed within every member of the team. It is a culture of service and genuine caring that comes through in the smiles, greetings and personal attention to detail every time you interact with anyone from any team. I have to recognize one individual in particular from the room service team, Joseph Abrahham. I had the pleasure to be served by Joseph twice during my stay. He always greeted me warmly, asked if my order was correct and asked if he could bring me anything else. Joseph was a standout during my stay, and truly loves his job and serving people. It is team members like Joseph that are the heart of this great institution.

Accompanied a family member to MD Anderson for a tumor that could not be found/ treated in South Texas. Everything was spectacular from pulling up to valet to each department. MD Anderson is a HUGE campus so if you are disoriented please bring a friend/family member to help you get around. My family member’s tests, appointments, and check-in was all booked back to back.
During a very difficult time the experience was spectacular. Hope you don’t have to visit here but if you do, you will be in good hands.

Patient financial clearance department is the worst in the world, although they claim to be the best cancer center in the world.
Patient clearance department did not give us correct estimate for a simple brain MRI. I called my insurance company to clarify my benefits, and they confirmed that they should not be charging for some procedures. I had to reschedule MRI.
Then I tried to contact with department 5 times, waited almost 1 hour each time and left a voice message, contacted via myChart, however, I could not get in touch with finance department. It has been 1 week since I left voice message and wrote a message in MyChart, however, they did not contact me.
Based on this experience, I believe that they are buying their reputation, and their ranking is not objective. They might have good doctors, however, their administration is ruining hospitals reputation.
