This is my go to place. Small place with a good taste. I didn't know I could sub the breakfast friend potatoes for grilled veggies. Awesome choice. Handmade Tortillas. Green sauce is good when not too hot 🔥 Red sauce is also good when not too spicy 🥵 Breakfast is my preferred time to visit. Overall I suggest this place as it's consistent with food quality and good cooks.

The food at this hidden gem is amazing. I had the best gorditas I’ve ever eaten. Very freshly made Gorditas and the meat was very flavorful. Even the sweet tea is very freshly brewed and not over sweetened like most restaurant teas.

I've missed food like this since I moved out of Texas 3 years ago. Tonight was....a rough night, as we said goodbye to our Pop. We came here to celebrate his life. Service went above and beyond for us and I cannot thank them enough. Everyone was wonderful and so was the food. I've never had a fried avocado like that before and it was so, so good. Thank you so much.

salsa is delicious, the breakfast plate is big, service is excellent and the prices are fair. everyone there seems to know everyone. I didn't really like the corn tortillas because they seem store bought but that's just my opinion. will be back.

Family friendly environment. Very clean and above all, the food is DELICIOUS. Some of THE BEST Mexican food I have ever eaten. I recommend the foot long beef burrito with the cheese sauce 100%. I added shrimp to that as well and it was amazing.

Can I just say that I think their cheese enchiladas rank among the best I’ve have in the Houston area? The sauce speaks to my discerning palate. I mean anyone can make enchiladas but then there’s the real enchilada! 🤣 The rice and beans are average but those are never as important as the main dish. It’s a popular restaurant with my family and the locals. This is my second visit and I ordered to-go. I don’t recall what I ate the first visit but it wasn’t memorable. But I tasted the enchiladas and determined I had to return - glad I did. The chips and salsas are average. The red salsa is hot which I liked over the rice to spice it up. The cheese enchiladas are reminiscent of our legendary and long gone, El Fénix and I’m also reminded of Molina’s but better! 🤤 Try them and lmk what you think! Lunch specials are a deal. Go a little later because it can get crowded in the small space. #houstonfoodie #texmex

(These pictures are from June) I’ve been here with my family about 4 times and I’ve enjoyed it each time, the food is sublime and the green salsa is my absolute favorite! It’s affordable and the staff is pleasant. Very homey vibes and flavors 👍 seating is a bit limited so plan accordingly

Food here is okay, needed some salt. Fried avocado was by far the favorite, burger served on sizzling skillet, son killed it in about five bites so it must have been good. Tamales were not the best. Good overall.

This spot has become a new favorite for my family to meet for breakfast. Their chicken gorditas are the best! The staff is so sweet and accommodating and it's a cozy little spot that serves some of the yummiest Mexican food.

Another lunch date with my husband. Today we tried a new mexican restaurant called casarez. I ordered the footlong burrito with chicken and my husband got the fajita chicken salad. Both of our dishes were delicious. I personally enjoyed their salsa. I mixed the green and red. I also enjoyed the friendly staff and lunch peices.

Fast service. About 10 minutes for to go. Good portions. Almost enough for two people. Fair price. $15 for fajitas. Red salsa is very spicy and delicious. Green salsa is creamy with a little bitterness. Charro beans had a good tomato flavor. Rice was fluffy and had a chicken broth flavor. Fajitas had good texture without being too chewy. Most of the food was seasoned well and not too salty. The beef fajita could use a little more seasoning though. Overall, good was fresh and delicious.

I would describe Casarez as a taqueria Tex Mex mix. It is a great place to go to if you’re looking for a quick and relatively cheap bite to eat! The place is very clean and the servers are friendly and fast. The fajita quesadillas and tacos al pastor were excellent and the fajita gordita and cheese enchiladas were also good but lacked that authentic taste. The chips and red salsa were also very good and had a great taste! My only complaint would be that the green sauce was very watery and not that great. Overall, I would definitely recommend checking this place out!
