Udipi Cafe - Houston - Photo album

An ok place to have your quick lunch break. I was there for their lunch buffet. Nothing too crazy all the curry felt like just water added and not boiled with the spices in it. I didn’t get a vibe of returning back to this place for my lunch break ever even I am around this place. The food was just
I visited this place for lunch buffet along with two other non Indian individuals to let them taste South Indian Vegetarian food. Although it did not disappoint my friends, to me it appeared to be a diluted version of the typical South Indian dishes. I am not too sure dishes like malai kofta were in
I stop here every time I visit Galveston- delicious north Karnataka flavors - Rasam and dosa are must try !
I recently had the pleasure of dining at this South Indian restaurant and I must say, the food was amazing! The onion masala dosa and butter masala dosa were both delicious and authentic, reminding me of my time in Bangalore. The portion size was very generous, and I was quite satisfied with just on
I love the lunch buffet at this place. It is authentic south Indian (coastal Karnataka) menu for a reasonable price. The owner/staff are courteous and nice and the service is great. Food (buffet) is not great on Wednesdays. The rest of the days is awesome. Also, I wish they don't charge half-rate fo
Good place to have Udupi style food. We just had the Thali here, so not sure about the other food. They try to come close to the authentic Udupi taste and it’s good. My first, tasting Udupi food outside in the US, so it was nice, even though some of it was really off (like the cabbage fry also known
First of all - don’t judge based on what it looks like on the outside! The inside is bright and airy with comfortable, clean seating. We had the manglorean bhajje as starters, and a masala dosa as well as an Express Thali - which came with a dosa, medu wada, Idli, Upma and sheera. Large portion size
Authentic South Indian food like I have never had across the US. The place is a veritable VIP gallery of the likes of Anthony Bourdain, Dr. Abdul Kalam, AR Rehman, and many others. The buffet was the best vegetarian, south-Indian food I have had (again)! The Vadas and idlis were fresh and done just
Small place but worth the try! Thali was okay but they are known for their dosas which was to the mark!
Interesting atmosphere. The restaurant had pictures of the owner with a lot of Indian celebrities. The food was okay, but I felt it was a bit overpriced. The idli wasn't upto my expectation as compared to the restaurant in India.
I come here regularly enough and have come over a number of years. The food is reliably good. Their dosas are amazing and there is a wide variety of them. Overall, their menu is very diverse and every dish I've had here has tasted great. It's all vegetarian so no worry about potentially eating me
Good chances of getting fresh idli, when visited for breakfast on weekends. I got idlis for pickup multiple times here, of all they were good only when had at the restaurant at the time mentioned. Idlis here are similar to those of andhra idlis. Sambar was usual, i mean not sweet. The chutneys too
So the service is ok. People are polite but can be a little absent minded! :) The Thali took a good 15 mins or more to arrive, but was clearly full of freshly prepared food so I don't care to complain about this. The curd rice had not enough rice and tempering, which I gave feedback about. The salt
Courteous staff. Very quick service and staff ensured everyone is attended. Meals, tiffin and chat items are good here. #HapoyDining
