Great food great sevice. I would recommend to anyone looking for a great meal at a great price...
It was very good place to catch breakfast. The service was real quick on getting your food out to you.
The hash browns are spectacular. Everything was delicious and quick. It's fun to see them make the good on the griddle. Prices are reasonable. We've been coming here for over a year and the food has been consistent.
Don't come to this LOCATION, the service is Horrible. The restaurant is empty and it took them 6 minutes just to get a menu. At the location next to my house and the Westheimer location, I always get the breakfast taco with hash brown on the side. This location said they can't do that here. When I told them the other location allowed it, I was told they are different.
Ok, Sooooo! FRANK'S GRILL! Let's Chat!
So this was my first time visiting Frank's, which just may be considered an insult to the Culture as a Houstonian, HA! But I digress!
I visited during brunch hours, and for my non-brunchers, this would be anywhere between 10:30a to 2p.
Frank's Grill restaurant is a teeny tiny hole in the wall, so parking space as well as seating are extremely limited.
The restaurant was absolutely PACKED from front to back and every crevice in between! However, I was able to snag an open seat at the "bar" directly in front of the grill, and I couldn't have chosen a better view!
I definitely enjoyed watching up close the hustle and bustle of the kitchen staff scurrying about, freshly preparing multiple breakfast/brunch orders all at once.
Service wise - The waiters were very friendly and efficient! I loved how accommodating the staff were to myself and the other customers even during major rush hour. But what stood out to me the most about this restaurant's service, was how well every staff member worked together as a collective. I noticed that everyone helped with everything, making for a quick, and very efficient service flow. I don't know about you, but I just love to see unity wherever it may be found!
So Kudos Frank's Grill on placing 5 stars high in the Service Category!
Now on to the Food - I gave 5 stars in this category! The menu offers a wide variety of food choices, without overwhelming the customer and every dish is made to order, diner style. So although you may need to add salt to certain dishes such as the hashbrowns and eggs, the food is cooked right in front of you and served fresh, and piping hot. I also took notice that the restaurant cooks with real eggs, thick sliced bacon and fresh ham!
I ordered the Fried Fish Breakfast Special - which was priced at $13.95. This particular Special came with two healthy sized golden pieces of perfectly fried fish (possibly tilapia, I forgot to ask, but def was not catfish), two eggs made your way, and hashbrowns. I opted out of the biscuit or toast that also comes with the special, but the portion size overall was nice for the price!
Now, since Frank's is not a "fast food" restaurant, be prepared to wait a bit, especially on a weekend and during brunch hours. `
The wait did not at all feel uncomfortable or excessive and since I was seated directly in front of the grill, I was distracted from the wait time by watching all of the different foods being prepared. Whole time, I was constantly contemplating adding almost everything I saw to my own order!
As for Atmosphere - I only gave 2 stars in this category, because while Houstonian's know Frank's Grill to be a great spot for great breakfast, we also know that there is literally NO atmospheric presence to be found.
However, what Frank's Grill lacks in atmosphere, is easily made up for in food and service!
Go check them out!
It's a casual dining experience that offers old school, country style cooking and cuisine. Me and some family members met there fir brunch and everyone enjoyed their meals. It was a little crowded but the service was prompt and friendly. The prices were very affordable and the portions were very generous!
Nice little restaurant with a real comfy feel. The place is slightly dated, but i think that adds to the vibe. Food is always delicious & fresh off the grill. I love places that utilize a flat grill to cook on. Something about being able to see your food as it's prepared 😋. Prices, in my opinion, match the amount of food served. They're very giving with their hashbrowns, which are so good. Make sure you ask for extra crispy.
This is a great old school diner that even has counter service right in front of the grill. The portions are generous and the prices are quite reasonable. I love their fried fish lunch that comes with two fillets and three sides for a hair under fourteen bucks. Totally worth it!
Frank's Grill is the beast morning breakfast place in Houstons northwest side of town. Friendly and courteous employees. Always ready to refine your coffee and ask if there is anything else you need. Come in early of prepare to wait in line on weekends. The food is amazing, prepared with love, making it taste amazing. You won't be disappointed. Give them a try!
Franks is known for there Breakfast being just plan GREAT!! They Are not playing around -you get Great Food and a Filling amount. If you leave Hungry it's your own Damn Fault!!
Cozy environment. The food was cooked to order, so there is some wait time. The food portions are large. The food itself was fresh and tasty. It's a little on the pricey side, but definitely worth it.
The meatlover tacos are ALWAYS on point. I enjoy going in there and watching them cook from the bar. I had the western omlette with biscuits the other day and it did not disappoint! Highly recommend for breakfast!
