Good option for mid-price Italian food in Houston. My tagliatelle all astice was prepared al dente and the lobster was sweet. However, the lobster bisque sauce tasted like typical tomato sauce. I was particularly impressed with the lasagna. It was reminiscent of lasagna in Northen Italy with ample bechamel and less tomato, allowing the rich flavors to come through. Probably the best in Houston. Tasty carbonara too.
My wife and I have enjoyed several very good meals at La Taverna. In addition, we stopped in to buy a gift card earlier today and the Manager (Randy?) helped us. In the process, I left my credit card behind by accident. I was impressed when I was chased down by the manager and he handed me my credit card...several blocks from the restaurant. Even more impressive was that I had just been telling my wife how it has been obvious when we have dined at the restaurant, how engaged and energetic the manager is in providing service. Imagine my surprise when he came running up behind me with my credit card! As we live a block from the restaurant, it's great to know we have Italian covered with only a short walk from our back door...very good food and management that is engaged in the service! Bravo!
Went in for a quick lunch and Vanessa helped me out with all of my needs and provided a absolutely wonderful dining experience. All staff were extremely helpful with my questions and the cocktails we're delicious. Highly recommend lunch and dinner spot. Easily the hidden gem of the area.
My husband, some friends and I enjoyed Taverna recently - twice in a week. The food was very good, the service was excellent and when I left my purse behind they quickly located it and kept it safe for me! Thanks so much to the manager, David and the friendly staff!
At first, it was a rough start. I was seated and ten minutes pasted and no one came to my table. I asked the hostess should I move to get service, she immediately made them aware of the situation. I had a server, service, food, drink... very quickly and then everyone kept checking on me. The food Was amazing and the staff very friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Love this place! Beautiful experience through and through. The BEST pasta ever! So fresh and perfectly cooked. I love their Fettuccine Ala Carbonara, it's perfect if you're wanting comfort food. If you're a salmon lover, theirs is to die for! It's perfectly crisp on the outside and not overdone on the inside and it's served with a lemon butter sauce that's delicious. We also love their bread, delicious and fresh whether it's their Foccaccia which we've ordered on several occasions or their free bread they deliver to the table, both are amazing. One other added bonus for us is their beautiful and romantic interior. It's a beautiful restaurant and during Christmas it's even more beautiful with the lights that surround it. Also, we love coming here with our dog and sitting on the patio. they always offer our girl water. The service is excellent and it's always a wonderful experience. This is one of our go to's and we just love Taverna. The other nice thing is that you can walk off dinner and window shop or get gellato afterwards in the shopping center. Cool place overall!
Our first night here, and both Jasmine and Mike made it memorable. My wife and I wanted this anniversary dinner to be unique. The antipasti was more than enough and the lasagna was quite tasty. This is one of our "new spots."
Started with a perfect simple prosciutto plate, then fresh pasta with chicken & mushrooms with truffle oil simply one of the best pasta I ever had! Went there for lunch on Saturday was almost full! Will come back for sure.
Amazing experience at the restaurant. Loved the friendly staff, especially the manager who's name was Vivian. She was very sweet to me and my family.
Was very good. Was hard to choose a main course, because they all sounded good! Service was excellent. Will definitely come back.
