Great place for any occasion! Historic building, nicely renovated and great atmosphere inside and out. Great service and food. Would highly recommend this place. Will definitely come back !
This is a more high end restaurant than I would normally go to, but restaurant weeks makes this place more reasonable for me. I started with the Roasted Beets. It was delicious. For my entree I had the Redfish. This dish was cooked perfectly and tasted so good. The final course was the Chocolate Cake. This seemed to be a flourless chocolate cake because it was so dense. But, I really liked it. I had a glass of Syrah that was very good and not too heavy to go with the fish. And, it was perfect with the chocolate cake.
Visited for an anniversary dinner. We celebrated our wedding here 7 years ago. Amazing dinner, really good food and drinks. Try the Crab Graviote, wow, so fresh and delicious. The one thing we weren’t fans of was the caviar, particularly the buck wheat medallions, did not compliment the pricey caviar very well. The best part of this location is the building, it’s well preserved and absolutely gorgeous. If you’re able, stay in one of the rooms in the original building. Very cozy and each of the rooms are unique.
This is a great choice if you want a high-end dining experience. We went for Houston restaurant weeks, and chose from that special menu.
This restaurant has come up on occasion, in casual discussion, but I've never taken the opportunity to visit, I should have. This restaurant is located in a historic Montrose mansion, that is unbelievably well preserved. The staff was incredible, they were friendly and helpful and a joy to interact with. Also the setting and ambiance was delightful, there was upbeat French music playing for the outside back patio dining area, which was bathed in sunlight and showcased sculptures and beautiful landscaping. The icing on the cake was the food, it was delicious. We started out with a double espresso & latte. The espresso was very smooth and had no trace of bitterness, indicating quality beans and a proper heating temperature, great start. After that we ordered the date and goat cheese salad, which had amazing flavor and very well balanced ingredients. Next on the list was the montrose. Being the more traditional breakfast offering, it still was able to surprise and fulfill. The eggs came out hot and with great texture and flavor ( we opted for scrambled) and the veggie sausage, while a little drier than a meat based one would have been, was very tasty. Last on the list was the chilaquiles, one of my go-to for breakfast dishes. This dish did come out at room temperature, which was a negative, but the remaining experience was great. It was extremely flavorful, and had a bit of spice at the end of the bite. It was also quite a decent sized dish and I wasn't able to finish the entire entree. All in all, this was a wonderful experience and I will be returning.
Dining area was beautifully set, clean, elegant, and bright from natural lighting. The brunch menu offered alot of amazing selections. The food was presented perfectly. Every dish was full of mouthwatering flavor. A hands down treat from start to finish.
The steel magnolia was a good choice and worth a try. I had them make a blueberry whiskey sour which was made great. Rushmore Academy was popular drink at my table if you like coffee. Unfortunately the drinks took a while to make and some were forgotten. Food had a delicate touch to it and lived up to the hype. Atmosphere was laid back with tones of luxury. I would definitely come back
I hosted a large group brunch here for my father’s birthday; we loved the beautiful, historic venue and the service was fantastic. Special thanks to Jordan for coordinating all items requested with grace!
First, a little bit of history. This restaurant is located in a mansion that was previously owned by the person who cofounded Humble Oil Company, which became ExxonMobil. Politics aside, this is a gracious, beautiful home with a wonderful staff. I would rate this as one of the best breakfasts inside the loop. Highly recommend.
First time here and it was lovely! They valet upfront and they work on tips. As you walk in you will see how Gorgeous the boutique hotel is, I mean even outside is beautiful. We ordered from the lunch menu. I ordered the corn ravioli and my husband ordered the club sandwich. The fries were delicious but so was my pasta! Overall is a place worth visiting and I can’t wait to come back and have a staycation at this beautiful hotel.
