This has always been our sushi go to place in Houston. The food is always awesome whether you're looking for sushi or traditional Japanese dishes. We're always look forward to seeing what the sushi specials are, and you definitely can't go wrong with those! The staff is friendly and the owners have always made us feel like family when we're there.

Small and cozy family run restaurant serves up some of the best Japanese Food Houston has to offer. They do get busy especially on the weekend, so plan accordingly.

The most delicious sushi my boyfriend and I have ever had, in a lovely, cozy setting. Take one bite and you can tell it is very fresh and high quality. We were quite pleasantly surprised since we only stumbled on this place after shopping nearby. The rainbow roll and Philadelphia roll were fantastic! Also loved the Goma Ae - "simmered spinach with black sesame sauce". So yum. Nice spot for a quiet date night. Will definitely go back. They also have 2 rooms toward the back with traditional dining setup with seating on the ground at a low table. Looked like it could be nice for a party group or more romantic secluded dining.

The food is always good when I go. The first time I went I had the Donkatsu bento box which was amazing and I ordered the Pork Ramen and Pork Cutlet Curry to go. Those were amazing as well. This last time I tried the Tempura Udon and I really enjoyed how clean and well balanced the flavors were. I also tried the Agadashi tofu and oh. my. gosh. That was wonderful. It was topped with dried bonito, which I absolutely love, grated radish and scallions. I'll definitely be going back.

3.5 stars - Everything we got for lunch was good, but nothing that was amazing. Their lunch bento boxes are a great value for only $15. My friends thought the ramen was just ok, and my California roll and spicy tuna roll were delicious. Cute, but small restaurant and the way the tables and chairs were spaced out it felt a little cramped.

Really delicious food and swift service. The waitress was super nice and the food was delicious. Highly recommend the fatty tuna sashimi from here! They give a really thick cut and for a good price. The agedashi is also my favorite from here. Bento boxes are all good but I ordered the salmon one in my most recent visit to Teppay. A great lunch to have every once in awhile!! Thank you Teppay!!!

Wow 🤩 Fresh fish, delicious sushi and sashimi special! Excellent service. We have an infant and they proactively offered extra tofu for a baby 👶🏻. Also baby threw away his toy on the way out that we did not noticed and the staff ran out to the parking lot to get the toy back to us!

lots of photos i had saved up in my camera roll. this place was really good for sushi, amazing. i got a ramen here in which i was a bit disappointed with the choice of meat and when it came to flavor i honestly expected more out of here. besides that my brother got the chicken curry, delicious and good breaded crumbly goodness. this place had hand rolls and i got the spicy salmon and it was perfect. salmon chunky goodness. this place was great and i would come again if i am in the area!! the inside was beautiful and so nice. Japanese decor with a tight comfy cute knit spot that felt very homey. love it here!!

This place was a hidden gem, tucked away in a Westheimer strip mall. The atmosphere is immaculate, intimate and cozy. It feels like a blend of upscale atmosphere with casual clientele. We showed up without a reservation. luckily it wasn't too busy so we got a seat right away. Servers were very attentive throughout the dinner. The onigiri is cheaper than HEB and way better. Ume is an acquired taste, but I love it and they delivered. The chirashi and sashimi were very high quality and melted in my mouth. The curry was also a standout. It was filling without feeling too heavy. We'll definitely be back to try the omakase :)

Delicious food. I highly recommend 2 servings of Karubi Amiyaki for an appetizer. That was awesome. Also, the Shitake Ebizume was good, too.

Cozy and authentic atmosphere! Friendly service, though expect a longer than usual for food to be served...guess we know they're made-to-order 😋 Nabeyaki udon: flavourful broth, al dente udon and perfectly crisp tempura; well done 👏🏻

Teppay: A Sushi Lover's Dream The otoro at Teppay is so good, it's like it was caught by Poseidon himself and blessed by the gods of Mount Olympus. It's the most flavorful, fatty, and melt-in-your-mouth otoro I've ever had. Teppay is a Japanese restaurant in Houston that is known for its fresh sashimi. I recently went to Teppay for dinner, and I was blown away by the quality of the fish. The sashimi was so fresh, it melted in my mouth. Even the regular tuna was amazing, but the otoro was out of this world. It was so fatty and flavorful, it was like I was eating tuna from the gods. The other dishes at Teppay were also excellent. The tempura was crispy and light, and the sushi rolls were perfectly made. The service at Teppay was also great. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and they were happy to make recommendations. Overall, I had an amazing experience at Teppay. The food was incredible, the service was excellent, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great sushi experience. Here are some of the pros of Teppay: Fresh sashimi Delicious tempura Perfectly made sushi rolls Friendly and knowledgeable staff Here are some of the cons of Teppay: Can be a bit pricey Reservations are recommended The restaurant can be crowded, especially on weekends Overall, I would highly recommend Teppay to anyone looking for a great sushi experience. The food is incredible, the service is excellent, and I would definitely go back again.

Not sure how it took us this long to find this place but glad we did! A local sushi chef recommended Teppay as the best sushi in Houston and I'd have to say they're probably right. The place makes me feel like I'm in Japan again. The rice has the right amount of vinegar and the cuts of fish were pristine. Highly highly recommended.

The ambiance is very Japanese style decorated, which I love so much. I feel like I am traveling out of Houston. This is a gem. 💎 Very local sushi place. Sushi 🍣 was fresh and very nice. Very very clean. Great service, quick and easy. I love their clamshell miso soup. It is small boutique so I would advise to make a reservation.

We came here for dinner and reserved the room for 7 people ($20 to reserve the room). We ordered the sashimi platter ($32), the fish was really fresh and good. The tofu appetizer was also very good. We ordered the tonkotsu ramen which were okay. The eel and spicy scallops rolls were both very good. The eel rice bowl was good but overpriced ($25). Service needs some improvement, faster and more frequent check ins. Overall, the food was good and I'll come back but probably wouldn't order any noodles.

This place is amazing good environment When you go in side the restaurant you’ll feel like you have dinner in Japan They have the private room with a little changed for that but you will not regret! High quality of food all sushi are good and the ramen too and the price are reasonable. Highly recommend! You’ll not disappointed!

Great fresh sushi. We came here for early lunch and it quickly got crowded. We ordered Beef Bowl, Regular Sushi, Sakura Mochi and Sasa Dango. The rice cooked properly so it wasn't hard or mushy. The octopus was chewy, the unagi flavorful and the fish melted in your mouth. However, I cannot recommend the beef bowl because it was very salty. The sakura mochi and sasa dango were interesting to try though they can be too sweet. Overall I recommend the sushi here.

Love this place. Came here for a special dinner with my wife and ordered their omakase. Ordered one 8pcs and one 10pcs, total came out $130. The fish quality is very nice. We also ordered the lobster sashimi with soup. Lobster is about 1.5lb and it is $35. They put the shell, claws and head to make a miso tofu lobster soup. Great quality, good taste.

This place serves authentic Japanese food. 5 Star for the food. The decorations are nice giving us a warm relaxing atmosphere.Sitting at the bar section help us to enjoy the meal more. I recommend all the dishes I ordered. The quality is good but the price runs a bit high since it’s counted by piece. The house sake is light but good. It’s a place for yourself alone or couples or small group.

Pretty good! Sushi was high quality, you can tell they use fresh ingredients (even the wasabi is the real kind!) only knock is the price but well worth it!
