This is one of about 2 places in town that I actually like the grilled salmon. I also had broccoli and fried okra. Everything mostly tasted really great!!. It's a casual atmosphere with large family sized booths and tables and a full bar. They always have specials. The parking is ample and there is a patio. The service was great. The prices are good. My husband had fish and chips. The fish is actually large without a ton of breading which is rare. The cold slaw is delicious and I don't usually like cold slaw. The fries could be a bit more crispy and they didn't taste fresh. The rice was mushy and a bit bland. I tried the bread pudding which tasted ok. I would go again. I recommend this place.

We Love this place. The Atmosphere is very calm and relaxing. The Staff is super friendly and professional and the the food and drinks are Great. We have visited a few times and NEVER was there a bad time. The seafood selection is wonderful, with Market Priced Fish, the starters/appetizers are so tasty.

This is our favorite local restaurant by far. Menu changes from time to time, so you may miss a favorite item, but the whole menu is tasty. This is a restaurant where you want to leave room for dessert - the bread pudding is generous enough for 2 people and comes baked or fried - both are AMAZING.
What really sets this restaurant apart is the servers. You're not "a table" here. You are a guest who they invited over for a meal and they want you to enjoy yourself. Drinks are refilled before you ask, dishes are beautiful and delicious, portions are generous, and they fondly remember repeat customers (and their food requests).
My husband orders the burger EVERY time and even though the rest of us order seafood (it is a seafood restaurant after all, LOL!) Tim, our waiter, remembers that all of us snag a few fries from hubby's plate, so he makes sure the plate has extra fries or he brings a separate small plate of fries so hubby doesn't have to share.
No packaged food here. You can definitely taste the difference. Ingredients are fresh and each dish is from scratch. You will want to bathe in their homemade garlic bread. If you get a chance to order the Spanish-style mussels, do it. It's like Heaven in a bowl.

We love coming here at least every few months. We came for date night this evening and they had 1 waitress, Lexi, 1 bartender and the manager. She was serving several tables and 1 large group when we sat down. As we were looking at the menu another large group arrived. Lexi was cool as a cucumber and the manager checked on us occasionally, helping out in every aspect. The staff did a great job, we enjoyed the food and our date night!! Service was top notch!!

Arrived around 5:30 and were greeted and seated promptly. It took about 10 minutes for our server to approach us. He was rushed and not particularly friendly. We ordered the dozen shrimp boil special. It was really good- the shrimp were huge and tasted very fresh. We also had a cup of seafood gumbo- it was ok, not much seasoning. The clam chowder was delicious though. And the side of garlic bread with marina was very good and a very generous portion. I had a $4 hurricane "special "- it didn't have much flavor and was maybe worth $3. For dessert we had coffee and keylime pie. Coffee came out first and was nice and strong, tasted freshly brewed. I was almost done with my coffee by the time the pie came out. It was fine, nothing special. The atmosphere in the restaurant was comfortable but it was very loud. Overall a pleasant experience and we would visit again.

We were very pleased with this wonderful seafood place just minutes from our new home.
We split the Rockfish Sampler. And then I had the crab and shrimp Louis salad and my husband had the shrimp and grits.It was all delicious.
Happy hour is from 3 to 7 Monday through Friday, so we both got $2 off our cocktails--his a frozen margarita and mine, a maple Manhattan.
It was all so good--And so different from food in West Texas, where we've lived for more than 27 years.

I absolutely love this place It's probably the most perfect place for seafood It's not overpriced and outrageous and gaudy it's just nice enough where it's not super dressy and it's not casual like a Chili's It's somewhere in between and the food is priced right where it keeps the riffraff out but it doesn't price the everyday man out of a good seafood meal. You still feel like you're going to a nicer type of joint to have dinner. Feels special. Service is always top-notch I've been going here for years. As long as you're nice to them there super nice to you and will bend over backwards to be accommodate 10 stars baby

Solid Seafood very consistent and a fairly wide and creative menu. Perhaps not the place to go for typical fair but they deliver on things like fish tacos and their special menu items. <br/><br/>Update June 11 2016: huge decline in quality, very slow far inconsistent and no longer recommend

Top Notch Services & Food. We go to Rockfish Seafood Grill on 1960 at least once a week. We love the atmosphere it not noisy we can hear each when we talk to each. From hostess to the waitress or waiter are very nice and the food & drinks are Supreme.

My favorite neighborhood restaurant. Members of my family eat at Rockfish 2-3 times a month and have for years. We've celebrated special occasions with large groups and I have dined alone many times. I've never had a bad meal or experienced poor service. In my opinion, they have the BEST margaritas in town (I should know) and great happy hour pricing. That alone is worth the trip!! Food isn't fancy or especially innovative but it's always hot and delicious. Its affordability is one reason we go there so often. If you haven't tried it, please do. None of us want to lose this gem.

Place was quiet when we arrived but it was later than usual busy dining time so we left it at that. Server was not great, and we learned more from the next tables server thankfully. Food was good but atmosphere even as restaurant filled up was still lacking. That said we will try it again to see if it is better next time.

We use to eat here all the time. Now I remember why we stopped. Though the mussels are really good, the crab cakes were just alright. The clam chowder however really was not good. The amount of pepper used masks the soup so much, that you can't tell it's even clam chowder. Also, the waiter was rude. It was 4:00 and the place was empty, but he made me feel like I was bothering him by placing my order. Won't be back. It's a shame, 1960 needs more good restaurants.

Great restaurant on 1960. My wife and I really enjoyed the meal, starting with the wonderful ahi tuna nachos, very interesting take on the typical starter. I had the lunch-size portion of the fish tacos and my wife had the seared ahi tuna salad both were beautifully presented and the flavoring was perfect. The restaurant is bright and airy and the staff is very attentive. I would definately return to Rockfish.
