Review Pistolero's - Houston

I was not expecting the food here to be so good. The tortillas on the chips were crunchy and airy. Never had a soft chip from the heaps of deliciousness layered on them. I had 4 tacos and my favorite was the fried fish but they were all excellent. The flour tortillas tasted fresh and yummy as well. Loved the vibe of the place but they had a dj on a Wednesday night and it was super loud trying to eat. Otherwise the service and food were excellent. Can’t wait to try more. Cost for two entrees, loaded nachos and two specialty drinks was only $60. Super reasonable!

Good drinks and food. I personally really liked the chorizo taco. Flour tortillas are not that good IMO so it's be best to get corn. Nachos are delicious as well. Parking on the Tuesday I went was $10 valet so I wasn't so glad about that. I parked across the street. Overall still a good place with good tacos. Especially on taco Tuesday.

Good amount of food that's reasonably priced. Barbacoa taco was substantial and moist. Could have used a spicy kick. Carnitas/roast pork was slightly dry. Double corn tortillas held up well. Happy hour drinks are very well priced although limited in choice. Stuffed Jalapenos from HH menu are well worth it and had a good spicy kick. Service was fine, quite laid back.

It was my first time at this place . It was wonderful . The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The food was amazing, elote 🌽 and tamales 🫔 my favorite 😍 oh and the spansh ribs to die for they have there own sauce jeez it was good . The drinks are the best for sure .... 🤩🤩😍😍 no complaints. I had shots and margaritas, omg the mango margarita with tajin and chamoy the best I say . The shots i also had espolon tequila 🤪 were great, and I recommend this place to everyone. The specials are perfectly priced for the hard-working person.They actually had a nice happy hour hours for the late workers to get to also enjoy those prices with no rush . Music was diverse, so that's always a plus . The atmosphere was cozy and relaxing. It was a nice setup.

Good ambience and nice patio setting. However food and drinks were average. Trio dip and nachos were good but cauliflower tacos and veggie tacos were mediocre. Servers were very attentive though. 4 stars for ambience and service, but I wouldn’t go back for food.

It’s a good place for Tacos and drinks. We went on taco Tuesday and had the $1.50 tacos. They all tasted good, but the sizes were tiny tacos. I had the Chardonnay and it was good too. Overall a good place with great service and hospitality. Nothing negative about this place, but there isn’t anything extraordinary to give a 5 star rating.

Loved it!! Went there with some friends after an Astros game. Kitchen is open pretty late. We ordered the beef Fajita Nachos, Stuffed Jalapeño Poppers, the Spanish Ribs, and the Barbacoa Tacos!! All of it was awesome!! Huge selection of tequila as well. They even have Tequila flights. Will definitely be back again!!

Happy hour was a fantastic steal, especially for frozen margaritas. However, the service was slammed and they were struggling to keep up. But food was good and the drinks eventually came. Great atmosphere out on the patio.

Well, first time this Saturday. Took my older kids and met my dad and stepmother for lunch. I had seen the restaurant on social media and had been dying to try it. So, parking was easy as there was only one other table there. It was nice and quiet for sure, but expected more of a crowd with the 12oclock happy hour. But, I don't know the area well hopefully they get more business at other times. So, as it was noon upon arrival I ordered the $3 happy hour house margarita. It was OK tbh, but not complaining at $3. We started with the chips and queso, elote and stuffed jalapeños. Good queso. The elote, good, but I think the layer of queso on top was actually a bit much for elote en vaso... More of a fundido, but it was good. The stuffed jalapeños I expected to have quite a bit of heat... But didn't... Fresh roasted and stuffed with cheese and fried... Great flavor and didn't kill the taste with spice, which I can only imagine we just happened to get some jals that were mild. But. Really good. Then, we ordered a few plates. Parents got tacos. My kids got the ribs with pineapple salsa (excellent) and a burrito bowl. And I got tamales de puerco. So, tamales are so hard to enjoy at a restaurant, only abuelita makes the good right? Lol, so, I will say, guys, they might as well have been tamales de masa. No meat �. But, the masa was decent. Had adequate moisture and decent flavor, but the Chile con Carne topping was really nice, pieces of beef made up for the poorly filled tamals. The draft beer selection seemed small, but good choices, good to see local crafts on tap, and pacifico and Negra modelo good Mexican choices. All together I think pisteleros is a great concept and beautiful restaurant, and I think the food is pretty good, I'm anxious to return and try other selections. The service was OK as well... Our server told us it was her second day when we asked what she recommended, so I definitely Cut her some slack. She was friendly, not the most attentive but it's easy to lose attentiveness at work when there's nothing going on.. Really dead and we were there from noon til 230. And she was the only server. So, over all I wish this place the best of luck in this tough industry, and I will be back as often as I can make it out to that area. And, I definitely recommend to others to give it a shot!

Delish authentic tacos! I'm not a huge fan of meatless anything but decided to try the mushroom taco and even that was superb. The drinks are not the best and the margaritas are a bit sour to taste. If that's your thing, this is def the place for you. The beer choices make up for the sour margaritas. This hidden gem needs to be revisited, including the patio diner area :)

Can you believe they even have a Saturday Happy Hour! The frozen margaritas were excellent. The best queso I have ever had. The stuffed jalapeños are excellent as well. The waitstaff was attentive and this may be your place if you like a deluxe Bloody Mary. The decor was cool and a large patio for outdoor drinking or dining. Will definitely return to try some other menu items.

Attentive staff, great food, and a huge menu of different tequilas. I'll have to go back to try their handmade, herb infused tequila. My kind of place �

My favorite place in Htx! I make it tradition to stop by everytime I visit Houston! Great service, delicious food, and amazing music! So much good vibes in this place!! And excited to say that I will be stopping by today once I get into town!!

They need a hostess. It’s a free for all mad scramble to get a table. And of course you have the hipster idiots that think they are better than everyone and will just take a table regardless of how long people before them have been waiting. Food is adequate but a bit over priced.

Amazing food, great drinks Margaritas are not very strong compared to other restaurants in the area. But the prices on food are what attracting me to eat here more & more. Definitely recommend it

Awesome place best beer and battered fish tacos ever �

Very nice, great atmospher, I been wanting to go in for the longest time. Very nice menu and drink selection. I would of given it five stars but I woke up with the worst headache ever and I only enjoyed two frozen margaritas. But I would defently go back and pick another drink.

Very surprised when I entered the facility. Nice atmosphere, good server all be that we caught them in shift change so he was the only one, but nevertheless he did do a good job and hustled. I had the Modelo Negro michalado and my wife had the $10 pitcher of mimosas which was a steal of a deal. Even though they did not carry Miller Lite..I must say the fajitas were not bad. Reason it was a 4 Star was because flour tortillas and corn...neither were homemade. Only bad flaw.

We here with my coworkers for my birthday on Tuesday and the food was great! Taco Tuesdays has $1 tacos, great drink specials and awesome atmosphere.

From the valet to the waitress..and of course my food and drinks...everything was great ! It was a Tuesday night..Happy Hour ..so great prices and fast service !

Always great tacos! the waiters are always very attentive no matter how busy it is! The only reason i would give it 4 stars is because they didn’t have any Mexican coke on Tuesday to go with my tacos 😪
