Review King's Bierhaus - Houston

Rafael Navarro
The restaurant exceeded my expectations. The food is awesome and the staff is very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is amazing for you to enjoy a great time with friends and family. They have an indoor and outdoor area for your dining experience, and the outdoor area is super nice. I really recommend this restaurant.

My aunt and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience here. We sat out in the outdoor area in the back. Our server was kind and helpful. All of the staff were very understanding when my aunt suddenly needed to switch tables because a couple of smoking customers had set up right by our table. For food, I had the classic schnitzel with the recommended sides of Austrian potato salad and sauerkraut (pictured). The server recommended a beer to go with it, which I did order and enjoy (I don't remember the name, though, sorry!). The flavors went well together, for sure. My aunt had a burger, which she said was delicious. Overall, this was a good experience. As we departed, I was already thinking of friends that I could bring along with me next time.

Oktoberfest was absolutely lovely. Food was great, Service was great. Plenty of seating but we chose to sit at the bar. Would definitely visit again!!

Came here because it was the time of Oktoberfest and also it's been a while since we last had German food (in Helen, Georgia). Got the Sausage and Schniztel Plate, Beer Pretzel, Haus Fries, and Weinstephener Vitus to drink. The plate was a good way to try both sausages and schniztel, and the sides it came with (sauerkraut and artisan potato salad) were all great. Pretzel was super-fluffy which was great. The beer was very good and had an interesting complexity to the flavor. Our server was helpful and knowledgable. Neat atmosphere with fun Halloween decorations; staffers were wearing costumes too. Good experience coming here.

Kings BierHaus was delightful but a tad bit expensive. Me and my party went to King's BierHaus on The Office trivia night. We arrived about 1 and a half hours before it started so that we could get a table in time. Needless to say, we definitely made it with some time to spare, but it did soon fill up, making early arrival a good idea. For the food and drinks, everything was good and I would always recommend any of their schnitzels (I had the Cajun one) and their pretzels are a must if you've never had one. All in all, my only complaints lie in the pricing. While it was definitely worth it to have snacks at the table throughout the trivia, trivia isn't always going on. King's BierHaus is a great restaurant with a great outdoor area, and great food. This wasn't my first time going here, and it most certainly won't be the last.

Came here with a group of friends. Really great food! Ordered a 2 sausage plate + Macaroni balls. The sausage is excellent! Included exotic meats like boar and elk if you are feeling adventurous. The portions are very generous with the sides! The Macaroni balls were warm and cheesy, even well into the meal. The scenery has a very relaxed and had a festive vibe. The servers are very attentive and food came out quickly. Great customer service! Come with a group of friends or family and share some food!

Maiden voyage to this European establishment. I had the sausage sampler,, good ,nice German drafts beers. Well staffed, competent service. Can't wait to get back.

Best croissant bread pudding I have ever tried in a long time. And caramel ice cream on top has a very different texture that makes it even better!

Such a phenomenal little place !! The vibe is so lively and the staff is exceptional. Definitely can't miss a smile or good time here, it's bound to happen. The tap is cold and the sun is warm.. faux grass and little pond if you brave the outdoors. Inside is chill, pun intended.. bathrooms are clean and fun! So much to choose from.. Definitely plan to come as a group or plan a few hours just to hang out with a partner/friend.!

Great place for a group gathering! Makes me want to go to Germany now! And the wait staff was very attentive! Only think was near the water, the picture stand area had a lot of mosquitoes. We all got bit several times.

I LOVE their charcuterie Board it’s my favorite go to when I come here! The pretzel is homemade fresh in house daily so it’s always AMAZING!!

Went to King’s Bierhouse for happy hour with friends, had a very pleasant evening and enjoyed there very spacious patio, I ordered the American sampler, charcuterie board, exotic sausage sampler, goulash soup, and the taste of Germany. There was plenty of food to enjoy in that mix, as you can see from the photos, the restaurant is authentic German style seating with long shared bench seating, as long as there is room in the bench, you just sit and eat, that is how it is done in the older style German restaurants. They originally told me they were out of goulash soup, then that made some and it was very good, i had also asked for grenadine in a coke and they said they do not carry grenadine, which is odd since they do have a full bar, odds are since I wasn’t ordering alcohol, the bartender really didn’t want to use the grenadine, I’ve been a few places where they only will use it for mixed drinks, so i saved my money from the soda and drank water. Elk was dry and spicy, rabbit and rattlesnake was sweet and Smokey, the wild boar was simply pork sausage. Everyone enjoyed both the exotic sampler and the American sampler, plus the charcuterie board was a flavorful dish. Taste of Germany came out in two platters, one with the meats and the other with the sides, both the chicken and pork schnitzels tasted like chicken, so maybe they gave me two chickens which is what I suspect happened, there mesquite smoked chicken is a full half a chicken and pretty good, totally enjoyed the rest of the plate as well. The pretzel they make is a must have, so i was very happy it was the base to the charcuterie board. If you enjoy the taste of German food, head on over to Kings Bierhaus, you won’t regret it

I definitely enjoyed this restaurant! I only have 2 small complaints... There were 2 specific drinks I wanted to try and both were not being served because they had run out of the ingredients ( it would have been nice if the server had given us a heads up ) I tried a drink called the sunset, it was a good drink. I loved the flower detail! The pretzels and fried pickles did HIT the spot though👌 and that cheese dip 🤤🤤 my friends did try some of the German beers and they definitely enjoyed those 😁 I saw some food orders and they looked sooooooo yummy! We're planning on going back to order food next time around!

I like the Biergarten better. The set up is not friendly for good service. The kitchen is far away from the tables on the far side of the patio so the poor waitress spent a long time running back and forth. Food was not hot and better at the Pearland Location. No band on a Saturday night. Kid and dog friendly. Be careful walking through the place if not sure footed or sit inside. Also, bathroom is small and once agin , far away from far side of patio. I would go back with a group. Great place for a family dinner. Big tables and relaxed fro small children. Dog friendly is good too. Very German.

It’s been one of our favorite places since it opened. Delicious food, a wide variety of drinks and the best service! Despite the kitchen being extremely backed up because of the overwhelming crowd for HP Trivia, our sweet server Dino and Ryan, the best manager, kept checking until everything was delivered and taken care of! We will continue to go back!

The food was really good. Our waitress had same beer taste buds as I did which really rocked but really, I hate to say, the best thing was the napkins. They really worked. My Wurst was a messy meal (expected) but their napkins really did their job. Funny, how those little things add up. I used 1 where 95% of places would of been 4-5. But the music/ambiance there really made for a great afternoon!

The food ordering process is strange. I was in a group and we all ordered at the front counter one after another - yet you don’t pay at that time. We all then went to a table. I received my order of Austrian Goulash almost immediately (and it was only warm, not hot), but the others in my group got their food randomly up to 10 or 20 minutes later. One couple (they were two people behind me at the front order counter) did not get their food until everyone else had finished their food and already ordered dessert. The place is also very noisy, so I could barely hear the person sitting next to me. Overall... the food was good and I enjoyed the meal, but they should really take orders at the tables so that people in groups get served at generally the same time.

Only leaving this review to give them a chance to save themselves. They just started brunch a week ago. Not only did they not have any French toast (which they’ve been plastering all over their ads), but the Americano breakfast was highly unimpressive. Eggs came out on the runny side when I ordered them hard and were completely, utterly flavorless. I had hopes for the biscuit but it was flat, room temp, and also not very flavorful. Honestly IHOP does this dish better and for the right price for the taste, not $14. My husband ordered the Strammer Max and said the Rye wasn’t very good (he never says anything) but otherwise no complaints there. THE COFFEE: Pretty sure this was Community Coffee and when we got he bill they were $4 EACH! For crappy drip coffee! OVERALL: Way overpriced and generally gross. I can get high-end and unbelievably well done brunch for those prices at Tiny’s or a million other places or an artisan espresso at ANY coffee shop for $4! Only good thing was service (there wasn’t a crowd so hard not to have good service), and the sausage and potatoes (normal dinner items for them). Should’ve made the “Americano” at home and saved the money and my tastebuds.

My first visit was amazing so I decided to bring friends from out of town here. Big mistake! Horrible service and 2 of us received wrong orders by a mistake from the waitress and her repose was “my bad.” We waited 20 minutes or more for our check. We could never find our waitress. Finally we were able to pay and leave only to have a different waiter run out to us in the parking lot and say “one of you do didn’t pay your tab for $43” which not only was incorrect but was insulting to make the assumption. After we told him we paid and could show the receipt he said “oh ok” with no apology. I mean come on, to have a different waiter ,we never had,run after us in the parking lot and accuse us of not paying (and we could prove we paid) after we had horrible service; what kind of business are you guys running? Highly recommend saving your time and go somewhere else with better service and appreciate your having business. There are much better places in the heights.

So much fun! Great food, great atmosphere, wonderful positive energy. The only tiny complaint I would make is one of the managers or maybe a hostess was a little snippy with me about seating. But, no harm no foul. I don't offend easily. And in her defense, we went on St. Patty's Day and it was a mad house!!! Angie, our waitress was awesome and super accommodating. Great place to hang with your friends and have an awesome German food and beer experience.

As a German in a foreign country for 22 years I enjoyed every minute at the King’s BierHaus. The Wiener Schnitzel was the closest taste of “Heimat” I ever found between Arizona and DC. We sampled Bratwurst and other kind all over Houston, but the King’s beat them all. Comparing prices: We have been pleasantly surprised that the entrees were quite below other restaurants. I understand that some won’t like sitting in the garden or with others on the same table. BUT: You are visiting a Biergarten and if you think going to Germany you better get used to it! Prosit!

This place is so un organized. Took over an hour for my sausage platter to come out. The waitress said they gave it to someone else. Half the time she is nowhere to be found. Service is sooo slow on ANYTHING.. drinks, food, checks. . (It’s not her fault, it’s the management for giving her to many tables probably, idk) but this has been literally my worst experience eating out in my entire life

What a fun place to hang with friends and have the feeling you are capturing a piece of Oktoberfest! The food and beverages were all delicious and the staff was friendly and prompt! The only thing I would suggest is have more registers open when you enter to move that process along more quickly. The line was out the door to check in when we left and only one person was working the desk. Unique and fun atmosphere !

Very good beer selection, great atmosphere, very tasty food and awesome service, definitely recommend

Good food, good beer! Great atmosphere. A little pricey but all in all a good place. I can say I have been there tho. Not sure if I wld go back but only because of the prices and small portions. When you spend 15$ a plate you expect more, JS. But then again maybe I’m just cheap

Overlypriced with very small portions and nothing special about experiencing a good German meal. A $20 Barvarian sampler was way over priced for the basic plate. My family of three had a $70 meal and a we all left hungry.

I was with some of my church friends from #OSL on my first visit to #KingsBierhaus-TheHeights and I enjoyed every minute of being at your facility. Well trained staff and so many different styles of beer(which I will have to try out one day). 😎👍🍺🍻

Incredible food, terrible service. We fell in love with the pearland location but once it started to grow the service went downhill. Decided to try out the heights location hoping for a better experience and were sorely disappointed. The wording on the menu and the wording on the servers system apparently doesn’t match which lead to a lot of confusion both ordering and when food was delivered. We had to ask for things several times and would see our waitress standing around while we waited on the things we’d eventually have to ask for again. Every time we heard our server walk up to a table in our section the first words out of her mouth were “I’m sorry”. Multiple tables in the area were visibly disappointed with their service. Really hope they can shape it up because the food is so good.

This place was great. Good food, and the King's Whiskey is a must have!

Way to much beer in one place! Come if you dare and enjoy with friends! Try their homemade pear whiskey!

We love this location! Super convenient to Downtown. Our waitress, Julia, is always amazing. The food is tasty and the beir choices are numerous. The Valentine's Day special was perfect and had tons of variety.

Our first time here. Just stopped by to have a few beers the atmosphere was great...of course our Houston weather was super great. Stefon the bartender was very attentive and gave us sugesstions on food and drinks we should try. We will definitely return to try their food.

Amazing service!!! Luke was very knowledgeable found a lot of new German beers we fell in love with!! Food was beyond expectations!!! Definitely a new fav spot!!!

Amazing food! Great Vibe inside or out! The service is even better! When I went they were super busy because an event and of course I had a table of 9, and was struggling to fond a table, but the manager saw us looking and decided to open an area that was closed off for my large group and we didn’t have to wait at all! I was very impressed by that! If you want an authentic German experience this is the place to go!

We attended the “All Day Rose” and thoroughly enjoyed it. Love the place and enjoyed it every time we’ve been there.

Was looking forward to it, but was disappointed. Still like the Pearland location so much better! The food needs Hans supervision. Most of it was overlooked or not flavored enough. Will only be going to Biergarten from now on.

I have been going to King's Biergarten in Pearland for a few years now and I love the BierHaus setup. An enormous amount of seating, games and more of the same experience. My favorite times to go are during the month of August for their Wurstfest as well as Oktoberfest. I love having a piece of Germany right here in Houston, TX. The atmosphere is authentic, the food is delicious and the staff is friendly, attentive and fast. If you ever have an issue (which hopefully you won't), but if you do, management will make sure you're taken care of. I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant! It's definitely one of my favorites in the area. Do yourself the favor and try it for yourself.

We went to watch Germany Woelrld Cup Match. Place was packed but our server was GREAT. We were asked to share our table with another group but is was fun. Tried sausage, Mac n cheese balls and schnitzel. All was good but I would have liked to see more variety (charcuterie tray....sauerbrun...just stuff you can't find everywhere) had a great time though!

Great atmosphere, live music was a plus in the patio.
