Review The Boot - Houston

Overall a decent patio spot for a beer and service is decent. The food is just average as the sausage in the crawfish was extremely dry. The shrimp platter was tasty but overpriced for portion size. Parking in the area can be limited and tricky so ride share might be a better option.

I brought a group of international clients here to show them great crawfish experience. Boy were they blown away. The crawfish here has the right amount of spice. I love the fact there is so much space, because this makes it easier for large group outings. And there's enough shade and seating outdoors for a great time.

Celebrated Camin Cargo anniversary here. Best party ever! Absolutely awesome! Live music šŸŽ¶ crawfish and open bar. It's hard to find parking, but it was one of the best corporate events! Thank you for inviting your customers! Great place.

Good spot to relax after work, parking fills up quick if busy. Crawfish were good and had good spicy, not great. Food came out quick and hot. Cleanest porta potty Iā€™ve ever seen. Friendly and attentive staff.

A great place to watch the astros. Food was good crab was well cooked catfish was perfectly fried. Only thing is these fryā€™s got to go they are the worse no flavor and straight worth barfing up. Please change that up everything else is great.

Love this place, canā€™t wait to return. Fantastic crawfish, good beer selection and great outdoor patio space. The only negative for me was that the potatoes and corn are charged separately from the crawfish but I guess thatā€™s the way more and more places are doing it these days. Overall great place to spend a day hanging out enjoying good weather, good friends and excellent crawfish!

Food was delicious and the atmosphere was perfect for a nice, sunny Friday afternoon lunch. I ordered the half Shrimp Po-Boy with fries combo and loved every bite of it. Perfect amount of food! The shrimp were amazing and the fries were seasoned to perfection. This was our first time visiting and we will definitely be coming back! Highly recommend šŸ‘ŒšŸ½.

This is the first time I've ever had cajun style food, this was authentic as it gets!!! My companion had the combo platter which consists of your choice of two catfish, shrimp, oyster, or crayfish combinations. She had the oyster and crayfish while I had the same thing but with catfish and shrimp. Food was pretty good, first time I've had catfish in my life. Catfish was cooked perfect that the fish fell part when touched, so tender and perfectly breaded. Shrimps were breaded just enough. Sauce was delicious. Parking is interesting, try not to block anyone in and if you - pay attention to the staff when they broacast you're blocking someone in!!! Other than that, a simple restaurant to meet for food and beers.

I got here before 1pm so I beat the rush lol by the time I sat down a line was forming so I knew this place was gonna be good! Nice beer selection. I love the seasoning they use on the French fries it was definitely the best part of my meal. Service was quick and my food came out hot and ready to be devoured! I got alligator bites and they were a little bit over cooked but they were still pretty tasty. The catfish was under seasoned but very well cooked. My crawfish was perfect. If you want a good seat during a hot sunny day out make sure you get here early so you can get a good spot. Also the guy in the front with the beard was sort of rude to my lady friend

Burger bowl with red beans and rice was surprisingly very good. My group smoked cigars outside and patio was large enough that we didn't bother anyone else with our smoke. Good spot

Cute lil cajun bar in the heights. They had goooood crawfish last year, and I love that they provide a side of dry seasoning! I went last week and the crawfish were good but still a little small, so I would recommend going in a month or two. Plan to be there a minute because it took us about an hour to receive our food, but the ambience & drink prices are great.

The place has a super festive vibe. Get there during t he crawfish season and get one the best Cajun flavours. You need to grab a table as it can be busy. Their sausage is really nice, the potato could be better seasoned, Gator bites and the fried pickles were also good. Overall a great experience

My husband is from Louisiana and both loved the food! Hot, fresh and flavourful. We both got the combo platter with catfish and shrimp. My side was red beans and his was dirty rice. We also got the gumbo. It was dark roux which I like but I wanted a little more spice. The portions were great. Value is good. Would like to come back when they have live music. We came on a Thursday at 2pm. Less than 10 people , not crowded and they have inside and plenty of outside seating that is spaced out! The owner was super friendly as well as the other staff that was there. Super laid back place with delicious Cajun comfort food! Must try!

I thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and reprieve from noise on today. The fans were going, great music, and the plentyof TV's. The food was as good as it looked. The fish was light and flaky and the fries to die for. Not sure what the seasoning is but let's just say you will not be disappointed. The seasoning wasn't salty just a little spicy šŸ˜Š. Hot day on the patio with a breeze and a cold beeršŸŗ.

Food was amazing, true Cajun potato salad! This place is packed most days so to enjoy I usually go right when it opens for lunch. The music is enjoyable, I tapped my foot the entire time. Outside patio is fully covered with other areas for sitting and playing.

Great atmosphere. Warm welcome and good food. What else can one ask for.

The Boot is a great place to go to sit out back and eat some really good crawfish. Legit crawfish! Excellent fried shrimp and fried pickles. Didn't care for the boudin much and I always love boudin. The only reason I don't give this place 5 stars is you gotta get back up and wait in line for another beer. When eating lots of crawfish, it's nice to have someone bring you one!

Awesome place with great food, music and service. I recommend it!

We went on a sunny Sunday afternoon. When we arrived there was only 4lbs of crawfish left. Ordered up a couple of rounds of beers and was served the mudbugs. I donā€™t eat crawfish but the wife does and she said they were good but sorta bland for her taste. Whatever the case, she ate 2lbs of them. šŸ¤·šŸ½ā€ā™‚ļø The atmosphere was chill. The music was on point. I give it a recommendation.

We had 10lbs of crawfish yesterday after it was all said and done. One of my favorite places to spend a Saturday afternoon on the patio. Highly recommend.

Good atmosphere and good food. The crawfish were small and gritty. A bit pricey over other places when you add in beer and wine.

Javi and Jenn are the best! Love the gumbo and crawfish here.

Went with my friend yesterday and in spite of it being stormy and cold outside we had a great meal. The Spicy Grilled Shrimp Po-Boy was delicious!! The red beans and rice are fantastic on the side! The room was well heated so me and my friend weren't sitting in the cold. If only we went earlier in the season when it was warmer so we could enjoy the outdoor patio but maybe some other day when I am in town!

Great place to hang out and visit with good people and tasty food. It's crawfish season and the fine folks at the boot will hook you up big time!

Love the Cajun food selection! Good beers on tap, nice patio and parking.

Went on a Fri night. Lots of screaming kids running around. Staff were not super friendly. Crawfish is $7/lb and I got a lot of dead heads in mine. Spice level is solid. You have to pay extra for 2 potatoes a a piece of corn. The latter do not seem to be boiled in spice. Average experience.

Being from Louisiana I was very impressed with flavor! Crawfish were great. Dirty rice not so much, Bread pudding was Fantastic !! Crawfish was a little pricey but I m sure thatā€™s due to the season we are having . I will def go back!! Closest thing To having them at home šŸ’›šŸ’œ

I took my mom and my aunt out for some seafood this past Sunday, and we had a great time! When you walk in, you place your food order on the right hand side, and all the wait staff were very friendly and answered all my mom's questions. We ordered the catfish, fried shrimp, fried oysters, and fried crawfish. All were cooked thoroughly and tasted amazing!! For sides we got the red beans and rice and my mom was thrilled to finally find GREAT red beans and rice. Our alcoholic drinks were nice and tall and the music outside wasn't too loud either. We had a wonderful time and plan on taking more family out there to try more food!

I had a great time at the boot. Parking was great. The food was good, service was good. Nice tunes playing. I had to wait every time that I went to the ladies room. That was annoying. When there is drinking involved we need adequate facilities please.

Can't find a better combo off great food, staff, patrons and atmosphere!

Crawfish country

During crawfish season this joint is quite busy serving up our spicy seasonal favorites. You have to pay for the fixin's but the crawfish is by the pound. Both outdoor and indoor seating with plenty of napkins available! Stop by this local favorite from march to may! They are open year round though!

This place does not even have a proper kitchen. Ā Hidden away in the back is a "food truck." Ā I found it by accident and was told I was not allowed "back here." Ā The place is going down hill. Ā I do not expect it to be in business within 10 months.

Been here at least 3 times within the past month. I've always had a good experience. I came here the first time for crawfish cause I was told by a Louisiana Native, they were legit here. It's not the prettiest place to come to but I didnt come for the decorum. I like the Louisiana theme. Purple Haze (beer) is good. They have fried frog legs covered in hot sauce, and yes they tasted just like hot wings. Now with crawfish, 6.50 a lb but you have to order at least 2. They don't come with the potato, corn, or sausage, those are extra. These "sides" are cooked well and are good but they taste like they were cooked separately which makes sense since you have to order them seperately. I love that they have indoor and outdoor seating with paper towels ready to go. Anytime you need anything, you order from the bar and staff is pretty chill. Parking is weird. The lot is a dirt and rocks and small so you have to parallel park along the road. Becareful when pulling out cause some of these drivers don't care.

Great crawfish during the season, but unfortunately on a perfectly sunny Sunday they ran out early. Ā Have also had the boudain which was okay and the shrimp - which were awesome! Ā French fries and po boys were good as well. Ā Full bar and great outside service. Ā Open air with lots of patio space. Ā Great spot for kids as they have a fenced in play area with sand. Ā Parking is tough and all on street.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. The food was horrible and almost down right embarrassing. The first lady we encountered was nice and very helpful, unfortunately she had to help someone else and so we were helped by another lady who had half of her head shaved. She was bluntly rude and starred at my party as though we were aliens. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and figured she was having a bad day, but her attitude changed once she helped other customers.Once we watched our food sit on the counter for ten minutes(after a 30 minute wait), my husband had to ask her the three bags our food. She then handed it to us without a word and we went to our vehicle. Once in our vehicle, we surveyed our food and it was just as bad as the lady who helped us. I specifically asked for extra spice on my Crawfish, and they were actually more sweet than anything and my Shrimp and Catfish basket had 6 of the smallest shrimp I had ever seen. I feel bad, hence before I had the opportunity to try The Boot, I actually recommended it to my peers due to other ratings Ive seen prior.

We ate at The Boot while in town this weekend from New Orleans and I must say I felt right at home! The Shrimp Po-Boy was amazing...bread was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, the shrimps were perfectly fried, seasoned just right and even dressed with blue plate mayo. We also had the Dirty Rice and French Fries which were phenomenal. Best Cajun food I've had in Texas by far!!!

Cold beer, hot crawfish on a Friday evening. The crawfish a done right and the owner and staff were great. Will be back!
