All the workers are friendly, generous helpings of a good breakfast!
Jamie was a great server! They had the best waffle that I have ever eaten! The servings are very large and you won't leave hungry. It is a very homey place that is comfortable and welcoming. We enjoyed it very much.
Visiting Houston from Germany we wanted to try a short-order diner restaurant for breakfast and this place took the prize. Julie was amazing and made us feel right at home. Place was clean, fun and food was delicious. We talked about it all day. Thanks for the wonderful visit and food!
Food here is always good. Nice service. Great "mom and pop" spot to eat.
Went here because I was told they served catfish and eggs as part of their menu. I thought that was kind of unusual.
The place was busy. I went at Saturday around 10 am. Turnaround of the kitchen was pretty good. A lot of to go orders. Parking lot is may look small from the street, but it is deep. Into the lot. More parking can be found on the next lot.
What I did get was a catfish platter (12.99) with over easy eggs. Eggs were done perfectly. I had some grits as well: pretty bland. Its just plain grits with some margarine on top. That led to the most interesting moment of the meal where I had a argument with my dining companion who said I should add jam to.my grits. I told him that was nasty and I would never so that or to oatmeal.
I chose toast and that came out well. Catfish was prepared with the dredged flour method. It was pretty good very moist and tender, and the real deal not the stuff from Asia that is passed off as it.
I also ordered a meat lovers taco (7.99). It had diced ham, sausage, and some bacon. The tortilla was fine but whole taco had way too little egg and too much potato. Way too starchy for me.
Service was good and we no hassle going to the counter to pay our meal.
Overall I think It was a decent place to have breakfast at, but I wouldn't make it a point to rave about it.
OMG this place is great! From the huge waffles and stunning breakfast to the head sized chicken fried steak to leave you speechless. This food is down right good! The staff was very fun and friendly and the shop was crisp, clean, and new. We enjoyed every single minutes of our experience and did it without breaking the bank! Don't think, just go... You will not regret it!
Our family stopped at Franks’s and had Mothers Day breakfast!!!! Great food and great service always! We forgot to take pictures before we started eating lol!
I was greeted upon arrival there were only guys in store. The service was fast the guys were very professional made me feel welcomed. The coffee was fresh so I ordered a regular waffle grits bacon and sausage. Everything was fresh the taste was good. I am going to rave on the Belgian waffle it was delicious I never tasted a waffle that was crisp and cooked to profession. I ate the whole thing no waste here. Lol. This location is the best one. Hwy6 and clay rd. Definitely recommend.
Smelled amazing walking in. Loved the atmosphere and the service was great!
Ordered a Breakfast special, meat lovers skillet, and a chorizo omelette.
Overall the food was good but some requests weren't done. We requested crispy bacon and hash browns but they still came out soft. The jalapeno sausage link came out cold. The skillet had more cheese than egg (also with soggy bacon).
Even tho the hashbrowns weren't crispy, they were still good.
I loved the chorizo omelette!!
Coffee was quickly refilled everytime.
Would definitely eat here again.
Love this place. I like going in there and seeing familiar faces of the stuff that has been working there for a long time that says a lot about how the place is run
Love this place. Good value and tastes great. Waiters and waitresses so attentive and take care of every need.
This place has to be my favorite breakfast joint. They never let me down, their omelettes are crazy good, I get mine with chorizo, cheese and jalapenos inside, and top it of with side avocado! Then it's become a tradition to also get a strawberry milkshake as well, after I'm done, all I want to do is go to sleep. I highly recommend this place for breakfast, brunch or lunch. Just be aware it can get packed, so plan ahead and see how busy it is right here on Google maps.
I was thoroughly impressed - the exterior didn’t inspire confidence, but the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly, and felt a terrific, almost familial ambience. Don’t judge a book by it’s cover!
The French toast was amazing and the chicken fried steak and eggs were solid - big fluffy biscuits and lots of good hash browns.
Wish I could remember my server’s name - she was on point and knew exactly when to check in and when to let us eat, and was terrific.
I heartily recommend this place - great breakfast started my day off the right way.
Love this place! Food is just good old-fashioned diner food. Staff are wonderful and friendly. We eat here like once a week.
Our waiter was super awesome very helpful even though my mom spilled her water LOL the food was phenomenal and the prices were great definitely will be back
