We had the Merida Special and the flautas. The Merida special was amazing, perfectly marinated!

Came for lunch and tried a few dishes from the menu. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, very colorful with cool mexican folk art. My dad wasn't very happy with his chorizo plate though.

This was my first visit to Merida, everything was great until I tasted their complimentary sauce. First of all, it was cold, had no taste of fresh peppers or tomatoes. It tasted more like tomato sauce from a can. Otherwise, food and service were great. I enjoyed the food and if I go back I hope the sauce is a little more spicy.

Came here for mother's day and all my years i have never been here! It's truly a hidden gem. Tacos are HUGE! & the Carne Guisada was good. Good homemade tortillas!! Cheap prices but BIG meals!!!

Breakfast -Motulena -tried 1st time. Eggs on Small totilla sorinkled with peas and cheese. Very good. Coffee excellent. Black beans & bacon. Reasonably priced. Not busy but service a little off. Will go back. Picture not as good .

This Mexican eatery was busy this afternoon. I enjoyed a hearty serving of carne guisada that was quite delicious. The meal was complimented with excellent service considering the crowd. I will come back again when I’m in Houston.

Merida is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in East End, which is saying much with all the great Mexican food East End has to offer. Considering they're located on Navigation, their prices are particularly affordable. Aside from the price, what really sets them apart is their all day breakfast. My recommendations are the tortas, which are very big or one of their breakfast items such as the machacado. The flour tortillas are also very good.

Came here yesterday for the first time and Damnnn! I’m glad I did, this place is authentic from the food they serve to the building they’re in! So I was in the mood for barbacoa tacos 🌮 and was not disappointed the flour tortillas were homemade and kind of big so two was good enough for me and the barbacoa was super tinder with really good flavor omg so good and the house salsa was good too not to hot very enjoyable also had a fresh lemonade so refreshing and my girlfriend had the tamale 🫔 plate and I’ll give it give it a 8/10 they give you a healthy portion of food on that plate but the tamales were a bit salty, but not too crazy flavor was definitely there! They have a good amount of parking,restroom looked clean and they also have a bar. So overall come here if you want some really good Mexican food, simple 🤷🏽♂️

I went for work and the place took me back to a vacation I took a few years back to the Yucatán peninsula. The cochinita plate was delicious, the Jamaica water was just right, and the ladies making hand made tortillas in the back really made my meal better tasting. I will be going back.

This place was delicious! I had the gorditas and fideo soup which was a delightful combination. The salsa was just okay and the air smelt a little bit like mildew when you walk in. That's the reason I took off a star. I'd definitely return though!

I love Merida so much I’ve been going there for a few years now and I love the food. I feel like this restaurant can compete with the other restaurants on the same road and win. The servers are nice, the portions are great, and it’s more than reasonably priced. The breakfast taco is really like a monster breakfast burrito. I also recommend trying any of the Yucatán specials and the piña coladas

Unbelievably amazing food. They are super respectful of space and COVID rules. The meats: barbacoa, fajita, and pork were super flavored and juicy. Really floored at how good this was. The tortillas were soft and freshly made. The price was very affordable and a great location.

Very lovely place, simple and welcoming. Loved the staff and definitely loved the huge breakfast tacos lol! The service was fast, everyone was attentive to every guest I saw in the building. I would have never known this place existed so I'm very glad I was able to stop in before my meeting up the road. Cant wait to come back and try other tasty foods here. MY NEW FAVE! I’ve been on the hunt for the best tortillas in Houston, and after years of searching, I found them here at Merida’s. Like most restaurants right now, service people are tough to find, so when we saw the owners/managers out there working, we worried that service would be lagging. It was everything BUT! The Barbacoa breakfast plate was perfect (beans could use some improving, but just a tad), and the tacos were BIG! I can typically knock down 3 tacos anywhere- I tanked at 2 here.
Good coffee, great service, and a relaxing atmosphere. It’s 30-minutes from our house, and we’ll worth the drive. We’ll be back- and bringing the familia with us next time!!

Well seldom one can be disappointed with breakfast but when you have to wait and wait it takes away from the enjoyment (especially tortillas) arriving after everyone one received thier which where all separately so food was cold. The service on a "not" a busy morning was truly bad, waitress never returned to refill coffee nor drinks we received tortillas when possibly manager stepped in to help. In fact we ate and waited much too long for our tap, even asked for her with no luck for the other staff just looked around like we kept doing so we actually got up and went to the cashier area and guess what waitress appeared!
Service is key for the success of a any restaurant after sharing with some local east-end residents we were told this had been the case for some time and recommend Dona Maria a block down. Some of us came from Humble area only to be disappointed.
Seems tradition isn't what it use to be.

I've Never been to a restaurant that doesn't serve rice and beans with a plate of fajitas/shrimp 1 waitress that just brought part of your order out and made you keep asking for the rest of your food

I love cheese Enchiladas, but I couldn't find them in all that gooey overload of cheese it had and no taste, plus I couldn't swallow it well without the thought of choking on it, food was cold on top of that � waitress never came around for refills, I had to wait until she came to the next table by me...� won't be going there ever again...

Still as great as when Grandpa, original owner, father and Grandpa owned it. I have been going to Merida's since 1982, maybe previously, I would have been too young to know. This restaurant has the best breakfast ever! Tortillas are the "bomb." Get it before this precise area gets blown up with tons of growth similar to the rest of the city.

The food was good food... very upset the house margaritas were $6.95 for what seemed like less than 12oz.. nothing to brag about. The waitress had no idea what was going on... we had to ask her to refill empty salsa after she refilled empty chips... didnt check on us one time after our food was delivered.

My daughter said she doesn't want to go grocery shopping ever again. She only wants to go here for every meal "for all of their delicious food". The staff was super sweet to my daughter and the food really was wonderful. We will be regulars.

Very good breakfast tacos, the Jumbo is really Jumbo!!! Very filling. Also, the Mimosa's are delicious!!
