This place was good. The burger was definitely cooked to perfection (med) like I requested but I had to place my own condiments on the bun, burger etc.. other than that the kitchen closes at 7:30pm each night. I was in town staying a short distance away at 3 -1/2 seasons hotel so it would have been nice to have dinner each night at the bar instead of spending money on gourmet food from over priced hotels. NOTHING in Houston is open past 4pm it seems. Unless you walk 15 mins away.

The blood orange draft is delicious ...and the staff is super friendly ... the jalapeno bombers are phenomenal just the right amount of heat (or lack thereof) ... And they came out super fast ...luckily it was not very crowded when I visited...I will def. return when in the downtown area ...

First time coming to Tejas Grill and Sports Bar. My hubby and I sat at the bar started out with Frozen Margaritas with the Texas Scorpion appetizers which is jumbo shrimp wrapped with bacon and stuffed with monterrey back cheese and jalapenos. Delicious 😋. Then we had the Stuffed Avacado which is two avocado halves stuffed with beef fajita and cheese. We shared them it was so good. Luis was our Bartender he was so nice and helpful. We will be back again.

Best Breakfast Tacos🌮 Ever! Specially with beef fajita meat, those are my favorites. This front area are open for the breakfast area from 6:30am to 10:30am with some chairs available

Loved this place !! Located in downtown the place offers a great ambience along with delicious food for pretty affordable price. I tried their nachos with guacamole, queso and salsa. They gave me unlimited chips. The servers were highly professional and kept constantly checking Loved their services and their fresh beer. Will definitely visit them again ❤️

I reserved the private dining room here for a group of about 25 people and they had a blast. They said the service was great and the food was delicious (and this is coming from a group of doctors that are more than picky). My thanks to Nancy and the staff at Tejas for all of their service and helpfulness in setting this up for us. I will definitely use this venue again when we return to Houston next year.

Stopped here for lunch before heading back to the airport. Food and beer options were good. They serve a few local beers. Very limited wine options, but they did have some recognizable brands. I had the dreaming tree cabernet and it was good. I ordered the Alamo burger which sounded unique but it was actually very good. I'd recommend trying this place if you are in town.

A great place to eat, drink and watch sports on the multiple screens.
The range of beers and drinks is impressive and they serve them nice and cold.
The menu also has a wide selection of Tex-mex food which was served quickly and tasted great.
The staff were friendly and attentive and deserved a good tip.

Had our college alumni party here. The food was very good. The staff did their best to keep us all with full glasses even though there were multiple alumni parties that night in the restaurant. Definitely a fun place with a truly Texas style atmosphere.

Awesome food and staff! The steak and buffalo chicken sandwhich is the bomb! Bartender is really great at making mixed drinks. I will definitely come back when I visit Houston again, plus my wife loved it too!

Just wanted to say that our event at Tejas Grill on Friday, Oct 19, 2018 was great! The reservation and ordering process was very easy; the private room set-up was perfect; the food tasted great (my sister-in-law is still talking about it); the beef fajitas were tender and cooked to perfection; the waiters were very attentive and accommodating. All of our guests had an amazing time.

The food was pretty good and waiters were quick and on point. Lots of seating at tables available and a nice bar setup. I thought it was strange that there were only a couple other groups eating at the restaurant when my group went on a weekend night.

Tejas Grill & Sports Bar - it is a upscale bar in downtown, Houston<br/><br/>There were a group of colleagues who wanted to spend some time and have food. Unfortunately no review about the drinks <br/><br/>The ambiance of the place is excellent. It is a Mexican/American restaurant. We did order chips and fries as appetisers. They were good but not extra-ordinary. However he comes the worst part, as the night went by we didn't the time; when we were supposed to order for dinner we were told the kitchen is closed. The waiter should have informed us <br/><br/>Another time for a proper food review

Horrible experience!!! Extremely slow. Waiter disappeared for periods of time. Had to request refills. Took 50 minutes for our food to arrive and when it did the burgers were overcooked but were afraid to send it back ... who knows how long we would have to wait. Won't ever come back here again. Will not recommend to friends. Thanks for the BAD experience.

Terrible 1st impression. Checked this place out hoping to grab some decent Tex-Mex and a casual atmosphere. The restaurant was severely under-staffed and as a result, the service was horrible and they closed the kitchen because they couldn't keep up with demand.<br/><br/>Our server was very apologetic and we don't blame her for the poor service because she had no support. The management needs to get their act together. This place is located in a busy part of downtown Houston and they were not at all prepared to handle the dinner crowd.<br/><br/>Numerous people walked out without even sitting down and several other tables just gave up and left because the service was so slow.<br/><br/>Maybe Tejas is a decent place, but I'll never know and will probably never go back.

BAR food with a flare. Good place for lunch, working downtown it was worth a chance and it delivered. The service was quick and friendly and the food exceeded my expectations, will go back for sure.

Great Hang Out/ Happy Hour!!. AWESOME TIME! I went down there with some friends for happy hour! The food was incredible! I had the scorpions which is shrimp with jalapeno wrapped in bacon! YUM!! The The juicy loosey was awesome too! The bun was some sort of sweet jalapeno bun... great! It looked like they had a back room for private parties which was cool. I would definitely go back and recommend it to anyone!

This place was awful. They were terribly understaffed, but they were seating everyone anyways. They were blasting a local hockey game that hovered between droning and screaming. The hostess waited on us, and was rude at that. And the food was terrible. The worst offender was my friends burger. He ordered it medium well. It came charred on the outside and raw on the inside. His bun was soaking wet. When we told the hostess she said ''i told them medium well" and then stared at us. It took us 20 min to flag down a manager and get out of there to find somewhere else to eat.

Good Tex-Mex. I liked the chips and salsa that were brought out when we sat down- very good! They have burgers, mexican, salads. The enchiladas were quite good. I would eat here again!

I really enjoy this place. One of the best veggie burgers I have ever had the way the veggie paddy, the avocado and the bun come together to make such a flavorful combination. Yum. It is also a great place to throw your birthday party plenty of room for people to cone and have fun and next time I am going to try to get their party room it looks so roomy.
