This restaurant is a hidden dream in the Heights. Allie Jarrett, the owner, has done a great job of interpreting southern Creole food, with a twist - and the wine list is awesome. We had the Boudin balls stuffed with pimento cheese and slaw. The "Big Old Biscuit" - fried chicken, cheddar cheese, home made gravy on a high biscuit! A meal in itself! Top it off with Miner Rosato wine. Great summer lunch.

Great food, service and location. I host a monthly meeting here and finally found a place that understands the meaning of customer service. Everyone of our members and guests say nothing but great things about their experience here. I also take my clients here for initial meetings. The owner and team are exceptional and I highly recommend eating and enjoying a drink on the terrace.

Another HRW23 venture. We ate downstairs in the bar/lounge area because upstairs was super busy. The bar top was dirty and the bartender seemed a bit overwhelmed when we arrived. She cleaned it up right away and took good care of us. The food was tasty and the drink menu was very interesting. They have unique liquor offerings and it was a nice relaxing atmosphere. There were sitting areas to just chat and have a drink if you didn't want to sit at the bar and I really liked that, very homey feel. We had shrimp and grits and Fried Chicken and Mash with Chcolate layer cake and Granny Cake for dessert, everything was super tasty.

We sat on the covered terrace, yes in Texas Heat, it was overcast so not too hot, and although they were short staffed, they gave us service with a smile. Our happy hour drinks were great and the food was delicious, they even turned on the outdoor cooling fan for us. Everyone that was there made our visit most enjoyable, this was our second time visiting, and certainly not our last

Came in during Houston Restaurant Weeks, ordered from that menu. The deviled eggs were good. The little chicken bite on them is a fun addition for some texture, and the pepper definitely gave it a nice zing. I wanted something fried, and drowned in gravy, and they definitely delivered there. I'd have preferred to have my vegetables on the side, but overall, the food I got was good, and it came out hot. My drink was good, even though I feel like it took forever to get it. Service was pleasant enough albeit a little slow. Perhaps they were just shortstaffed on the day I went. Overall, I would dine there again if I happened to be in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way to dine there.

Found this gem while out and about and enjoyed a nice dinner with a pretty view. The bar had plenty of seats but we opted to sit on the terrace, which was nicely decorated with patio lights. Food was good, but wish they had more wine variety. Good ambience overall.

The patio upstairs is amazing, I can imagine if it's busier it's even better. The food was alright.. wasn't my most favorite Caesar salad and the deviled eggs lacked a bit of seasoning. But my friend said her pizza was good! The sangria was amazing though! I think I'd go back after visiting a few other restaurants in this strip!

This was our first time here, the food was very delicious. We ordered a mimosa flight with multiple flavor options and honestly they were all very yummy. Our waiter was very nice and definitely gave us a great first time experience, I definitely recommend

This is a good restaurant for everyone. The food is good... But it's definitely not soul food or Southern food. It lacks the seasoning and flavor profile of soul food or Southern food. The fried chicken is good and you can tell that it was brined, yet there is a serious need for white pepper, paprika, and other seasonings. The crab cake is NOT a lump crab cake. Lump crab cakes do not require a ton of breading, sauce, or toppings. There is parking behind the restaurant. You can have a drink at the bar on the first level. Food and an additional bar can be found upstairs. You can dine inside or outside. There is a fireplace and AC units - neither were is use at the time that I dined outside. A good place to try... Just manage your expectations. Staff is friendly and accommodating.

The food was so good! I had the chicken and waffles, which was big enough to share with my child. It came with 4 waffles and half a chicken! Our server was super nice and the atmosphere was perfect. The music was loud enough to enjoy but not annoying. The patio was perfect. We had Bloody Mary drinks and they were awesome! It was all of our first time there and we'll worth the visit!

Found this gem and enjoyed an evening out for our dinner while in Houston. I had the fish and chips and my husband had the fried chicken. Food was good, only complaint is the flies that got in as the outside terrace door opened. The drinks were good and the food was good.

Great place for brunch. Food is tasty and their mimosa flight is worth try! It was pretty empty for a Saturday brunch though, but we didn't complain as service was dedicated to us!
